Rick Erwin's West End Grille
For years we have enjoyed meals at this restaurant. We have even had numerous office Christmas parties, anniversaries and birthdays at this restaurant. I know how good it has been in the past.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement! The
Item 1. We ordered the 7 oz filet cooked MEDIUM. It came out raw in the middle. Which was sent back and cook more.
This is the the third time in a row this has happen to us.
Items 2. We order Irish coffee’s for after dinner. When served the whipped cream was running down the sides of the glass plus ponding around the base. Not a good look, plus very difficult to drink.
Sorry to see such a great place go downhill.
my wife and i loved it for our 10 yrs anniversary.. This is our third visit and we love it every time
My husband and I went there to celebrate my birthday. We were not disappointed. Everything was great from the start to finish. Jason was an excellent server! We will definitely return when we are in Greenville again in the future.
Wonderful time and experience. Would recommend
Needing to order Oysters Rockefeller twice only for it to come barely warm the second time after it coming cool the first time was disappointing. The desserts offered on the house was a nice gesture to make up for the poor appetizer. I really loved the butter cake which I really didn’t need but it was delicious. Probably the most disappointing was the underwhelming waiter who really didn’t have much for recommendations, seemed inattentive to a missing napkin, and was a bit awkward was less than expected for an upscale dining establishment.
Overall we enjoyed our meal and service was attentive. There were a couple disappointments though. The crab cake entrée came with sauce that just did not taste right. The second was special grilled peach burrata salad. The salads we received came with a thick slice of burrata which overwhelmed the very thin grilled peach slices. So the salad lacked the peach taste one would expect. The server did tell us he would bring some more peach slices but they never came so that was a demerit for the server. Other then those to issues the steaks were cooked to perfection and tasty.
Let me preface by saying that this is a steak house and if you stick with steak and seafood you won't be disappointed. On the other hand, we decided on trying some of their new Italian dishes this evening... one word... DON'T! Not only are the pastas for the most part store bought and frozen, but also undercooked with tasteless sauces. The Chicken Saltimbocca was horrific! The chicken was rubbery, the prosciutto fried to a crisp, and the cheese burned to a rock hard substance by the pan it was cooked in. We'll go back for the steaks... but never for Italian!
Our COO was in town with his wife and they invited us to join them for dinner. Our recommendation was the West End Grille. Everyone was very impressed, out service was excellent and the food was equally fine. Could not have asked for a nicer evening. We look forward to returning on other special occasions.
We decided to eat at a table in the bar so we could watch sports and had a wonderful time. The waitresses and bartenders were extremely helpful and our food was delicious. They even made my cocktail drink recipe to perfection.
Service and atmosphere were good. Food was extremely subpar - over cooked, dry, and bland.
We were a party of 6.
Family from Franklin,Tennessee came for Labor Day weekend. and we chose Rick Erwin’s West End Grill.
Everything was wonderful from start to finish.
One couldn’t ask for a better upscale dining experience .
Am a little concerned about the shift to Italian food as we are not fans of it.
I have been to Jiannas twice and not going back as the food, menu and service does not compare to Rick Erwin’s.
Very disappointing experience. My filet was charred and over cooked, the veal parmigiana was very average and the asparagus was also charred, which we sent back and were still charged for it. We have been a fan of Rick Erwin’s various restaurants for years, but won’t go back to the West End Grill.
It was a lovely evening from start to finish. We were seated right away and our waiters were super attentive and courteous. The complimentary valet parking made for a no hassle parking experience. Everyone in our party had a great meal while enjoying our dining experience. We will definitely return in the future.
It was a "Special Event" for us. Our 50th. We were greeted warmly and a congratulations card signed by many of the staff was at our table. The food was excellent with generous portions. You won't leave hungry. We couldn't stop talking about the great service that all of the staff provided and the special attention we received. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant that made our day "SPECIAL". As my granny use to say "YOU DID GOOD". To cap off our experience Rick Erwin stopped by to wish us well.
If you have a Special Event in your life and you want to celebrate it by dining out this is the place.
Great service and food. Love the building.
Slow service especially from bar. Took about 20-25 minutes to get first round of drinks. Special peach and burrata salad exceptional. Surf and turf ( lobster) good except lobster was very salty. Owner and chef came by table. Very nice touch. Certainly will be back when back in Greenville again
This is our favorite restaurants in Greenville! The food is great and the service is too! Tonight we had the filet and the BBQ Shrimp and shared the cheesy mashed potatoes—spectacular! Lauren never fails to help us find a bottle of wine that we love.
Rick’s is always the best in Steaks and Ambiance. Four of us there for a birthday dinner and it was great.
Our server, Ernie was very professional and was a pleasure.
Greenville’s finest place for dinner. Service & atmosphere are unmatched.
We really loved our experience at Rick Erwin's West End Grill. We were celebrating a special birthday and the experience was awesome from the start. All the staff had a pre-signed birthday card sitting at our table by the window. Food was outstanding and value was great for an upscale experience. The chef came out and said hello, then at the end of the night Rick Erwin himself stopped by to insure we had a great visit. We did. Highly suggest Rick Erwin's. We will be back!!!!
Our favorite when visiting Greenville. Reliable food and service for a special meal. Great wine list.
Great food and drinks. Pricey normally, but enjoyed cheaper price during restaurant week.
Great overall experience.
As usual, Rick Irwin’s was phenomenal! Our server was knowledgeable and had a great personality. Food was divine and atmosphere was upscale yet relaxed. Will definitely be back!
Went here for restaurant week in Greenville. The food was absolutley amazing... the first course was great, but nothing compared to what was coming next. My girlfriend and I both got the filet mignon and agreed that it's one of the best steaks we've ever had. A reasonably priced glass of cabernet for each of us was paired with the steak for an overall fantastic meal. Then the dessert came... oh the dessert... I mean wow. The service was also very friendly, prompt, and proper. Can't wait to visit again!
We chose Rick Erwin's West End Grille to celebrate my mom's 91st birthday. Our evening in the restaurant couldn't have been better! Once we were seated, a birthday card was presented to my mom that had been signed by everyone on staff that evening. She was very touched by the restaurant's thoughtfulness and for all the good wishes given to her by the staff throughout the evening! All the dishes we ordered were superb, as was the service. It was a perfect dining experience for our whole family!
The only criticism we had was that there were not enough valets on staff to get the cars for those leaving the restaurant in a timely fashion. The two valets were attentive, and working hard, but they clearly had more to do than they could cope with. We waited for at least 20 minutes for our car. I hope this is something Rick can improve.
Our whole family is looking forward to returning to Rick's West End Grille on the future!
Fantastic atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicious food. Just like every other visit we have had. Hands down the best in town!!
A night out with my mom. The food was delicious.
We enjoyed the first night of Restaurant Week here. A terrific 3 course special menu for $45. Filet was perfect--one of the best I've ever had. Imaginative salad of grilled peach, tomato an buratta. Seasonal peach cobbler with ice cream, a splendid finish. Wine is expensive though.
Another great dinning experience at one of Rick's restaurants! The French onion soup is an absolute must as they do it right! It consists of just the right kind of onions that are not sweet, baked in a rich brown beef stock broth seasoned just perfectly, topped off with a nice layer of baked cheese! Very few get this right. We had the salmon piccata which was flash seared with a slightly crispy outer layer and extremely tender and moist inside, covered with a excellent beurre blanc sauce and capers. The ravioli pasta was also excellent, although a bit bland for my taste, and could have used a more mushroomy sauce with a bit more flavor to liven things up. My daughters filet was perfect... accompanied by their crispy French Fries which are always a hit! We were even fortunate enough to meet the executive chef who accommodated us with a special birthday request of bananas Foster for our celebration! The Somalier also was excellent in suggesting a nice Turley Zin to accompany the meal. Slightly lacking was the general service staff... a common theme in and around Greenville but particularly noticeable in the Irwin restaurants... maybe just because everything else is so on point!
Fantastic from start to finish. Drinks, apps, dinner and dessert. Skip lunch and save yourself for all they have to offer.
Excellent. Our watress was terrific. Enjoyed the Chief Steve chat. Celebrate my birthday. Keylime pie was to die for. Thank you. Marilyn Binks.
I am sure that our server wanted us to buy a bottle of wine but I ordered a glass of wine and since my husband does not drink he ordered ice tea which he never received.
It was our 20th Anniversary. Everything was very good to excellent. The she-crab soup needed more punch. The octopus was excellent, my scallops cooked perfectly, and delicious. The Caesar salad not over dressed and excellent. The filets perfect. One person ordered the pasta dish and it had mushroom sauce on it, and he does not like mushrooms. It needs to be noted on the menu, my friend’s pasta dish excellent. The creme brûlée cheesecake a welcomed surprise; just perfect.
Our server Brian was great. Good sense of humor, attentive and deserves a raise.
Yes, we will be back, and I highly recommend the restaurant.
Monday note is a great note to go as it was not too busy, service was great!!!! Will do it again!!!!
A fantastic meal greets all who eat at Rick Erwin’s Westend Grill. The service is top notch, and the ambience just perfect. Topped off by a table stop by from the man himself Rick Erwin just to make sure the meal was up to par. My customers were so impressed, one saying that he felt that it was the best steak he had ever eaten.
A nice place for a quite date night. Lobster mashed potatoes were awesome. Waiter was very knowledgeable.
The service was excellent! The food was the best we’ve had. Overall a great experience! Highly recommend all the Rick Erwin restaurants.
