We had a great time at Riccardo’s. We had a large party and the restaurant was very accommodating. The food was quick to come out of the kitchen and five stars. Service was spectacular as well!! Will definitely be visiting again soon. Thank you!
The food wasn’t the greatest and the veal chop was raw. Also the menu doesn’t mention this but north end doesn’t have a liquor license so there cocktails are all weird flavored. May be something that is common knowledge in boston but as a visitor this caught us off guard
Great place to take your college freshman with his friends for his 18th birthday.
Wonderful food! Service was a little slow and noise level high, but good wine and food made up for it.
Friendly, attentive staff. Food was good but for someone who doesn’t add salt, I found the pasta sauce extremely salty. Other than that, it was a nice place. I would just try something else on the menu next time.
Impeccable service and very attentive staff! We wanted to try Riccardo’s for a birthday dinner and it was superb! Next time we are in Boston, we will definitely make reservations here again!
No liquor license what was a bummer. It was loud, hard to have a conversation. Wait staff was very nice and food was good
Capreae appetizer, fuzzily melon drink, fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and vegetables
Great service, wonderful food! Will definitely return and highly recommend!
Food was very good, lobster ravioli was done just right and the sauce was very good. My girlfriend couldn't remember her dish, but I'm thinking it was chicken and prosciutto and some delicious sauce. The meatballs appetizer and sauce was good as well. The tiramisu was very small and just ok. Service wasn't great as the waitress forgot to bring me a refill and check in, but she was probably swamped and when no one works anymore I appreciated that she was doing her best.
Our first time dining here and was pleased with the menu selections and ambiance of the restaurant. Loved the outdoor patio option as well!! We knew it was extremely busy but service wasn’t the best, and didn’t reflect that on our server—he was managing so much!
GREAT FOOD - GREAT SERVICE - The Fettuccine is out of this world! Great team who came over and makes you feel like you’re family.
We made a reservation. The table was ready without any delay. The restaurant is very noisy and we struggled to hear one another.
The food was ok, but uninspired. I ordered the chicken piccata. The waiter offered a side of pasta for my meal. When I received the bill, I found that I was charged an extra $5.00 for a small plate of penne pasta. I wouldn’t have had a problem with that, had the waiter mentioned that when it was offered. Other than that, the experience was good, but not exceptional.
Food was cold probably because the waiter had too many tables.
Nice staff. Food is just so-so. Very loud restaurant- hard to talk at your own table!
I had a great experience this restaurant. The food was very good and fresh. Our waiter was super friendly too.
Food was fabulous. Service was exceptional.
Very good food and service. Bathroom was not clean
Excellent as always! Came by after visiting St. Anthony's for a quick dinner. Great service from Lawwwwrence! Make sure to ask for him when you go by, he usually works the bar but was doing both tonight. Hilarious guy, great energy.
It was a great experience. They were extremely busy so the wait time to be seated and to get food was a little long. But the service was great and the food tasted delicious. I would definitely go back!
Set a new standard for poor quality of service. I had made a reservation but they told us the only availability was outside; 10 minutes after we sat outside it began to pour. Staff told us there were no more umbrellas for the tables (3 umbrellas for 12 tables). Was sitting there drenched while they continued to seat people inside instead of moving outside tables in. Waiter was standoffish and unhelpful. Our food came out wrong twice, leading to more than an hour wait. Being wet and cold didn't improve the quality of the food.
I wondered why there were so many reservations open for the day of…I got my answer. We waited over 20 minutes just to find the host. We then had to either wait another 15 minutes to be seated (note at this point it was 10 minutes past our reservation time) or eat outside…and the forecast predicted a 50% chance of rain. We chose to eat outside because we were quite hungry. The server came to us within 5 minutes which was amazing, and he brought menus. The waiter took our order ten minutes later; it began to rain shortly after. However we were dry under an umbrella. We then waited over thirty minutes for apps. The calamari was not crispy and the bruschetta was soggy. We waited another 15 minutes for our entrees. The grilled salmon was actually poached, and the vegetables were underdone and not cut in a way to make them easy to eat. None of the food we ate was worth the wait- except the marinara sauce. While we waited for our Uber, we overheard a server swearing loudly because it was raining outside, and she actually dropped some plates of food on the dirty dish cart to avoid bringing dishes to customers. Overall I would not go back and I would not recommend it to friends. What a shame.
All of our food was great. It seemed like they were a bit overwhelmed, so the service was a bit off and the staff was running around like crazy.
Great food, great waiters.Issue was we were seated outside( not our choice).Made reservations 3 days earlier. When it started to rain, the guy said it’s blowing over in 15 minutes.I said it’s raining and we just got our food.Response was”I can’t control what’s in the sky….
It was a little busy when we were there due to multiple events going on locally but it was great. The food was fantastic and service was good considering how busy it was. We made a reservation on line and were seated immediately even though we were a few minutes late. We have added it to our favorites list.
It was a really busy night and it was understaffed therefore the wait to get drinks and food was a little long. I had a large group and the food was hit or miss. The Ravioli, caprese and chicken parm were great. The drinks had no real alcohol in them. The seafood was subpar in my opinion. The ambiance was very lively and fit my group of 9 perfectly.
We arrived early and had great cocktails and conversation with an awesome bartender. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and the wine was a perfect match with the meal. We had stopped at other restaurants on the way through the North End that were overcrowded, noisy and the host acted annoyed that we would inquire about a table without a reservation. None of that attitude here. These people are gracious and respectful. Highly recommended!!
Its not often you find a quality restaurant such as Riccardo's. The food was fantastic and the service excellent!
Service was quick. Server was friendly. They were out of lasagna. The cannoli was the worst I ever had. Food was just okay.
The perfect dinner to celebrate a special birthday!
Overall really liked Riccardo’s. The stuffed meatball appetizer special was incredible. Should be on the permanent menu and I could have had another order. Also had the Prosciutto and Burrata appetizer which was also very good. The Lobster Ravioli and Linguine with Clams in White Wine Sauce were both good. The restaurant had a credit card processing issue but thankfully we had cash and the restaurant was very considerate and understanding of the inconvenience. Dessert selection was subpar so we went elsewhere for some cannolis. Overall recommend as one of the many restaurants in this neighborhood.
Everything was great. Had a veal special and chicken dish. Beer and wine only and that was ok. Service was awesome. Brett our waiter was great.
We ate outside last night at Riccardo’s. Jeff served us. His fun attitude, humor and the good food made for a great night. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of Prosecco with the caprese salad. It’s was fresh and delicious. The bread was fantastic. I enjoyed pollo exquisco. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My hubby had the stuffed pork loin and also loved it. Jeff recommend a cheese cake dressed with cherries for dessert.y husband basically licked the plate clean. We’ll be back. Thanks for a great night!
Amazing level of service and attention for a special birthday celebration. The group was thrilled with the level of energetic support from the wait staff. Especially loved the picture taking capabilities of the staff!! Food was delicious and everyone was so happy with the evening. Thanks so much!!!
Excellent North End Boston Restaurant away from busy Hanover Street, where most tourists visit !!! Our server Julian was excellent and the food was outstanding. I had Lobster filled Ravioli topped with 2 Gulf Shrimp in a creamy red sauce & my wife had New England Hard Shell Clams steamed in garlic over a white wine linguine. Both were excellent along with "Real Italian Bread" served with an excellent dipping oil dish. Drinks before dinner were served in full glasses, which is rare in Boston!!
We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Boston.
Everything about it was immensely gratifying! Food was superb and service very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend it!
Riccardo's needs a make over. The place is looking old and the decor is dated. The food is good, but overall, Riccardo's is not what is used to be.
The service was not very good. She left us waiting upon sitting and then came over and took our whole order at once. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco, 2 starters and 2 entrees. The Prosecco was brought without an ice bucket or cooler. She said she would bring one but it did not arrive until we had already started our entrees. Our entrees were brought out while our starters plates were still on the table and we had to do the awkward plate passing thing. Lastly the food was good. My Fra Diavolo was good, not great but my sisters veal chop was very good.
It was so good we returned a few days later when we went back through town. If I lived here I would go every week. Love it!
We sat outside in early evening. It was excellent. Food was great!
