All entres were very good but the appetizer samplers prepared for table of 12 people were exceptional. Eggplant and meatballs best of all. On top of that, the service was perfect. Highly recommended.
Disappointed as Riccardo’s came highly recommended. Before we sat down, hostess should have let us know they were expecting a large party that was going to take over much of restaurant and tax kitchen. Waiter tried to steer us to most expensive wines rather than give wine descriptions so we could make informed choice; servers rushed our meal, took bread before were done w/first course, brought main dish before done w/salads. Thoughtfully they could have seated us in area away from large party so we could enjoy conversation. Meal was delicious, but experience negative.
Our group was assembled from 1 local, 1 CHicago, 1 Florida, and 1 Phoenix. It was worth the trip and worth a repeat.
Amazing restaurant! I went there with 20 people for my 30th birthday and the food, service, and atmosphere was great. Our waiter handled a large group wonderfully - very attentive and kind.
Our food was amazing - we had two vegans (myself included) and they were very accommodating to our diet.
I will absolutely go back!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Our table was not ready on time. They put us on the sexo d floor were there were barely any servers. We order appetizers and 25 min later they told us one of the plates wasn’t available. Took forever to server water. Plate flavors were just OK. Very bad experience overall.
Ricardo's never disappoints!! Delicious authentic Italian food.
For a 7:00 reservation we waited a half hour to be seated. The waiter/ bartender was taking on too much and it resulted in terrible service. Riccarrdo"s made a bad impression on our guests of the North End
We had a delicious dinner and service was great!!
Great service and great restaurant! The service we received was so friendly and they accommodated our large party so well and made our celebration so special.
Excellent service and well-prepared dishes. Would definitely recommend and will return in the future.
We celebrated our son's graduation at Ricardo's. Our party of ten enjoyed the food, the service was very good and we would return.
Not impressed. Host had an unpleasant attitude and the food was only so-so. Wait staff was excellent. Tomatoes in the caprese were flavorless, and the pork dish was tough. On the plus side, the salmon was very good and the bread was excellent. But in a neighborhood filled with rest, this one wasn’t good enough to make me return.
Waiter was a bit abrupt. Seemed in a rush even though it was on later side and not busy.
Riccardo's was very crowded, being the night before the Boston Marathon -- all places in the North End were packed! We made a reservation for 8 well ahead of time. However, we waited nearly an hour after our scheduled reservation before we were seated. The food was great, having to wait was not.
This was by far the worst dining experience of my entire life. Had a reservation at 6:15, waited till nearly 7 for a table. Waited for another 15 to order and had tables and chairs getting lifted over our heads.
After being told my food was coming 3 times, it came out ice cold so I picked it up and walked it to the kitchen to get it done right. After finally getting my food, it was nearly 2.5 hours after our reservation time.
No apologies, nothing. I wasn’t expecting anything other than acknowledgement of how bad it was.
Upon leaving another family got up after having raw chicken served to them twice. Do not go here!
Waited over 35 mins with a reservation, was finally offer bar seating, and took it. Food was served fast after we ordered.
Food was good.
Bread was Cold (refrigerator cold), so that was disappointing.
Food was yummy; service was horrible. The waiter was friendly and upbeat until we indicated we didn’t need the wine glasses when asked. It was like a light switch flipped to how abrupt and rude he became. It became our dinner conversation watching how friendly he was to the tables around us then watching his mood change when he would occasionally check on us. Very disappointing that because we didn’t purchase alcohol, we were treated differently.
It has been a very long time since I received such poor service. The meal would have been *fine* on its own, but we were rushed, yelled at by the waiter and had to basically beg for our water glasses refilled and the most basic level of service. Would stay away given so many other better options in the North End.
No good drinks
Food was ok but service was very poor. I know it was a busy Marathon Weekend but they should have been better prepared for that. We had asked for separate/group bills up front but when the bill came they said they could not do it.
Great for a list minute reservation on a Saturday night with 9 people. We had a great table and the food was great.
Our group had a wonderful dinner here! The atmosphere was perfect for good conversation to enjoy the delicious food and drinks, and the staff extremely gracious and friendly.
Solid Italian dining on the North End with good atmosphere and service!
We had a party with ages ranging from 7 - 76, and everyone was very happy with their dinner.
We were reminded of our family trip to Italy last summer. we'll be back.
I have been to Ricardo’s two times, most recently for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, and it was lovely! The risotto is my favorite dish and it is absolutely exquisite. I’ve never ordered a bad thing from this restaurant. The service was pretty fast, but our waitress did keep coming over literally every two minutes to check on us which made it a bit harder to relax and enjoy our date and meal together.
This is the second year that my family and I have gone to Ricardo's on our annual Holiday Boston trip. The food and service is excellent and we love the location.
Disappointing experience. Had a 730 reservation. Table was not ready. After about a 20 minute wait, we were put upstairs. Mistake! Upstairs was full of large parties. Took a half hour to bring our drink order and another to bring our appetizers, which were cold by the time they arrived. Dinner did arrive shortly after and was hot, but another half hour ordeal to get the check. Definitely won't be back
Highly recommended, but highly disappointed. Still searching for that awesome Italian dinner in Boston and this wasn’t it
Gluten-free options available including gluten-free pasta. Great sangria and excellent food. Would highly recommend!!!
Got a reservation at Riccardo’s last minute for a dinner with friends. Service was slow - waited about 45 minutes for appetizers that never came. Instead our dinners were brought out first & one meal in our party was wrong so we had to wait for that to be corrected. Food was just OK- especially for the price. With all the other options in the area, we won’t be returning.
Good and service was excellent even the kids liked it.
this restaurant is depressing. we all said it was like we were at the lunch after someones funeral.
We have been to Riccardo's in the past and knew it would be a nice time. Everything was as expected with two exceptions. Food was good but everyone at our table mentioned that each plate lacked seasoning. Not a big thing but it was mentioned. And the second remark is while the place is noisy and lively there was an incident with the owners son yelling at the waitstaff. Very unusual in such a friendly place and not professional.
I would recommend Riccardo's to friends and we will go back.
Orlando was an amazing waiter!
There were 8 women for dinner. We had fantastic meals. Staff was very friendly. Water was never empty. Only drawback - meals were not served all at once. They delivered 3-4 meals right away and then they came out one at a time after that. Otherwise it was a great experience.
Excellent Italian food, fine dining, affordable, great atmosphere. Everyone in our party loved their entrees. Staff was pleasant, great service. A thumbs up!
Noisy, slow service. Mediocre food. Just don't go.
We came in to celebrate our son’s 21st birthday. The food was beyond delicious and the ambiance was exactly how I remember my grandmother’s kitchen — happy and upbeat! Definitely deserves a return visit soon!
Visited Ricardos on a busy Saturday night. We had a good dinner, not excellent but good. The restaurant is family owned, food was authentic & tasty, only complaint was that it felt a bit like a factory. The restaurant over booked reservations, making for waits even with a reservation, and servers were stretched to be able to provide great service, but that said, we really enjoyed the meal and had a great night!
There were 18 in our party and we were seated in an upstairs room with two other large groups. The seating was very comfortable. The waiter allowed us to take our time which was very nice as we had a lot of time to catch up with each other. The room was noisy, but manageable, we could easily speak with the 4-5 people sitting closest to us. The food was good and the price was excellent.
