We had an amazing experience . Orlando was great , food was great . We had a party of 7 , made a reservation and sat right down when we arrived . We enjoyed all apps and dinners we had . Thank you !!
What a messy restaurant. We had a reservation for 7:45. Were able to sit at 8:30. The restaurant simply doesn’t know how to operate the Open Table bookings. The house was full, the waiting line huge and you could still book any table size for an immediate spot.
We didn’t leave because where else would we be able to find a table for 5 at the peak time!?
At least the food was fine.
Great food, good service, although a little slow.
Good food and service. The location was also good, in the Italy neighborhood.
We had an excellent time. Food was excellent and service was attentive and friendly. Will come back again!
My husband proposed to me at Riccardo's.....special place with outstanding menu! We absolutely love the food and ambiance and highly recommend Riccardo's!
We disliked the Italian antipasto, which had odd mozzarella and was rather hot. Everything else was excellrnt: fish, wine, dessert, decor, and pasta. A beautiful north end restaurant.
Our reservation was at 7:30 and we weren’t seated until 8:15. That’s hard when you have your young kids with you! When we were seated there were people who had 7:00 reservations who still weren’t seated by 8:15. Food was great and our waiter was a doll but not honoring reservation times is a deal breaker for me. I wouldn’t go back because of this.
The service here is abysmal. Riccardo is rude to his staff and to customers. The service is incredibly slow both at the bar and at the table. The food came out relatively quickly and was delicious.
For some reason the restaurant takes way more reservations than they can actually seat and turnover is slow. Made a reservation on open table and still waited 30 minutes for a table.
The food and service were great we did wait 25 minutes after our reservation to be seated
Oh boy! We called ahead to add a person to our reservation and confirm our reservation. Despite that, when we arrived at 7, our table wasn’t ready until 7:35. 2 of our party didn’t arrive till 7:15, but still, we didn’t sit with our two small children for another 20 minutes.
We sat upstairs, which was nice, quiet and open so the kids could move around. Which was fortuitous because despite ordering as we sat down, we didn’t get bread for 30 minutes, or appetizers for another 20 after that. Then we settled in and waited for another 35 minutes after that to get our entrees.
We made a reservation for 7 so we could eat promptly, and didn’t get our entrees until close to 8:45. They blamed the delay on a rack of lamb, which would be fine if we didn’t watch another table sit, order, and eat the same dish between our apps and entrees.
They do not have a full bar, which was another disappointment for my girlfriends family I was trying to impress.
The food was alright, nothing special, but nowhere near the quality of portions you would expect from the north end, having been to many of the restaurants in the area before, I would strongly suggest staying away.
And if you want to sit upstairs, it’s definitely quieter, but the bathrooms are atrocious.
Would of been a lot better if there was a ‘sorry’ or ‘apologies for the delay’. But it was almost like, because they were guaranteed 18% for our party size, they didn’t care about us at all.
Stay away, there are many better places in the north end.
We booked in advance for 7pm. So did lots of others. We were seated at 8.15. Everyone was waiting for more than an hour. It was miserable. No apologies plus no hope of walking to another restaurant as the area is so busy. They need to stop taking reservations, small kids crying everywhere and the elderly with no where to sit - it was unsafe in the summer heat.
We had a reservation for 7 and weren’t sat a table until 8:15. The place had overbooked and was incredibly overpriced for the quality of food and service we received. Will not be returning...
It was our friends birthday there was 12 college students and the restaurant was super accommodating! Great service and food was well priced. Wine was a bit expensive but would definitely go back!
We decided at the last minute to go to the North End for dinner and choose Riccardo's. We got seated right in the window. The service was excellent. The meatball special was amazing, amazing, amazing. I also got the pasta special. The homemade pasta was delicious. It just had way too much oil on it.
My husband & I both ordered veal. It was very fatty and tough. Very poor quality. They did nothing when we complained. Also they assured us that my daughter's appetizer was vegan & it was not. They did not do anything. We will never go back.
Great food! Waitress was wonderful and very accommodating. There wasn’t a child’s menu but the waitress told us to order whatever my children wanted and she gave smaller portions. The adults and the children loved the food!
Food and service was great. It is the second time I have been there and it was excellent.
Will be back and recommend it highly
Riccardo's is a family-type of place. It has big portions and the staff is friendly. I had the Seafood Fra Diavolo, which was good, but not good enough to justify the $32 price. Most of the seafood in it was fresh, but the mussels were kind of funky. My son had the Lasagna Fatti in Casa Di Mamma and was very happy with it. At $17 it was priced more in line with what we got. The wait staff was very good. My one major complaint was that people kept coming and trying to remove plates and glasses when we were not yet done. I had to request a fresh glass because mine was removed before I finished the bottle of wine I had ordered. This is a good place if you are in the neighborhood, but I would not travel across the city to go to it.
All entres were very good but the appetizer samplers prepared for table of 12 people were exceptional. Eggplant and meatballs best of all. On top of that, the service was perfect. Highly recommended.
Disappointed as Riccardo’s came highly recommended. Before we sat down, hostess should have let us know they were expecting a large party that was going to take over much of restaurant and tax kitchen. Waiter tried to steer us to most expensive wines rather than give wine descriptions so we could make informed choice; servers rushed our meal, took bread before were done w/first course, brought main dish before done w/salads. Thoughtfully they could have seated us in area away from large party so we could enjoy conversation. Meal was delicious, but experience negative.
Our group was assembled from 1 local, 1 CHicago, 1 Florida, and 1 Phoenix. It was worth the trip and worth a repeat.
Amazing restaurant! I went there with 20 people for my 30th birthday and the food, service, and atmosphere was great. Our waiter handled a large group wonderfully - very attentive and kind.
Our food was amazing - we had two vegans (myself included) and they were very accommodating to our diet.
I will absolutely go back!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Our table was not ready on time. They put us on the sexo d floor were there were barely any servers. We order appetizers and 25 min later they told us one of the plates wasn’t available. Took forever to server water. Plate flavors were just OK. Very bad experience overall.
Ricardo's never disappoints!! Delicious authentic Italian food.
For a 7:00 reservation we waited a half hour to be seated. The waiter/ bartender was taking on too much and it resulted in terrible service. Riccarrdo"s made a bad impression on our guests of the North End
We had a delicious dinner and service was great!!
Great service and great restaurant! The service we received was so friendly and they accommodated our large party so well and made our celebration so special.
Excellent service and well-prepared dishes. Would definitely recommend and will return in the future.
We celebrated our son's graduation at Ricardo's. Our party of ten enjoyed the food, the service was very good and we would return.
Not impressed. Host had an unpleasant attitude and the food was only so-so. Wait staff was excellent. Tomatoes in the caprese were flavorless, and the pork dish was tough. On the plus side, the salmon was very good and the bread was excellent. But in a neighborhood filled with rest, this one wasn’t good enough to make me return.
Waiter was a bit abrupt. Seemed in a rush even though it was on later side and not busy.
Riccardo's was very crowded, being the night before the Boston Marathon -- all places in the North End were packed! We made a reservation for 8 well ahead of time. However, we waited nearly an hour after our scheduled reservation before we were seated. The food was great, having to wait was not.
This was by far the worst dining experience of my entire life. Had a reservation at 6:15, waited till nearly 7 for a table. Waited for another 15 to order and had tables and chairs getting lifted over our heads.
After being told my food was coming 3 times, it came out ice cold so I picked it up and walked it to the kitchen to get it done right. After finally getting my food, it was nearly 2.5 hours after our reservation time.
No apologies, nothing. I wasn’t expecting anything other than acknowledgement of how bad it was.
Upon leaving another family got up after having raw chicken served to them twice. Do not go here!
Waited over 35 mins with a reservation, was finally offer bar seating, and took it. Food was served fast after we ordered.
Food was good.
Bread was Cold (refrigerator cold), so that was disappointing.
Food was yummy; service was horrible. The waiter was friendly and upbeat until we indicated we didn’t need the wine glasses when asked. It was like a light switch flipped to how abrupt and rude he became. It became our dinner conversation watching how friendly he was to the tables around us then watching his mood change when he would occasionally check on us. Very disappointing that because we didn’t purchase alcohol, we were treated differently.
It has been a very long time since I received such poor service. The meal would have been *fine* on its own, but we were rushed, yelled at by the waiter and had to basically beg for our water glasses refilled and the most basic level of service. Would stay away given so many other better options in the North End.
No good drinks
Food was ok but service was very poor. I know it was a busy Marathon Weekend but they should have been better prepared for that. We had asked for separate/group bills up front but when the bill came they said they could not do it.
Great for a list minute reservation on a Saturday night with 9 people. We had a great table and the food was great.
