Rhett offers a great dining experience. They were not busy on the night we dined, but we also went at a later time. It's a nice restaurant with a special feel while also being casual and unpretentious. The portion sizes are ample. We expected them to be smaller but were pleasantly surprised. The food is creative but not too over the top that you're unsure of what you're eating. Service was great and attentive. We also ordered drinks that were delicious and fairly priced. We will definitely be back and will bring friends with us next time!
Went for Restaurant week special Ricotta over bread excellent.
Desserts were great, nice craft cocktails. Roof top view is excellent. Will be back to go there for happy hour.
We were there an hour and still hadn't gotten our food and there was only 1 other table with guest, so we opted to leave and they didn't charge us for our drinks which was nice
Food was tasty and a good value. Very small mimosas and $8 a pop. Not happy and they were not great.
We went to have dinner on New Year’s eve and the ambience of the restaurant is really nice and the service was impeccable! The food wasn’t that good, they need to improve their menu in my opinion. Breakfast, on the other hand, is amazing!!
The good: food and drinks were excellent.
The very bad: from the moment we sat down this place was a little awkward. The plastic water cups and menu/placemats were very weird, I don't know if it's a fine dining or an higher prices diner. We were asked to move our seat one seat over to help them accommodate another larger party coming in, no biggie we moved. Now our server: very nice, knew the menu but was very quick to leave the table even when we were still talking.
Our order: we ordered the steak and pork and a couple drinks. My wife and I were sitting and the steak arrived and that was it. They said our pork was sent to the wrong table. We both split the steak, finished before the pork finally arrived. Asked about our drinks and was told the bartenders were sooo slow. Place wasn't that busy.
I never ask for anything for free however normally when an experience goes like this I was expecting to have the pork plate comped but was surprised that it was not.
I'm really not sure I would go back to this place even tho the food was amazing.
This was our 1st time to the new restaurant but since we are local to Savannah we thought to give it a try. It is in one of the new hotels on River St and the hotel is a top scale version. The restaurant is on the ground floor River level and the look of the place is top notch. We were expecting a more upscale experience overall and this was not exactly that style. The plastic cups on the table were odd for the place but perhaps they want a diner feel. For the costs and the area that was not the best option. The service was great and our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food was prepared properly and came out quickly. I had the pork and my wife the chicken. Portions were generous and the presentation was well done. My only suggestion would be for Rhett's to better define what they want to be, either high end or a typical River St Diner. A hybrid of both is either overpriced or too poorly defined. We will be coming back perhaps for a lunch to see if that better fits the style they are working to achieve.
Everything was great! I would recommend to anyone. They took care of us.
We had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Rhett. I understand the restaurant is new, but as someone who used to work in the food industry, it was even difficult for me to sympathize with this restaurant. While I no longer live in Savannah, I get excited when I return because the food scene is always evolving. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice indeed, and the roasted prime rib we had that came with our 3-course Christmas dinner was really good. However, the joy ride ended there.
One of my guests from Korea was visiting the US for the first time and we decided to check out this new spot. My guest was using the restrooms and she saw one of the restaurant employees walking out of the toilet stall and exiting the bathroom without washing her hands. This came as a complete shock to her and I felt embarrassed. I informed the manager about this and we were offered nothing but a rather quick apathetic apology. Our server was very friendly, but there was definitely a language barrier. While this isn't usually an issue for me, as I come from an immigrant family myself, but the server had some difficulty in explaining some of the menu items to us. I even walked up to the server shortly after placing the order to make sure that our order was correct because we were all left a bit confused when she was confirming our order.
My guest's dessert came out more than 10 minutes after my dessert came out, and I think the communication barrier between our table and our server could have had something to do with the delay as I had to grab someone else to make sure my guest's dessert was still coming out. Also while not a big issue, upon the checkout process, I would have preferred them not to use a portable checkout system. It was uncomfortable having the server looking at how much I was tipping her right behind me on a near $200 tab for a party of three -- it reminded me of a cheap restaurant joint on Buford Hwy in Atlanta, not a nice upscale hotel restaurant.
Loved it. The place is beautiful! Small but great choice wine list. The food was outstanding especially for the price. I would highly recommend Rhett to anyone. I will be back.
Excellent chicken Paillard, charming and efficient waitress, great conversation with restaurant manager who clearly knows his job. Will definitely come again.
Nice setting, the service was horrible though. Had to go get my our own drinks several times and spent 2hrs there. The food was average, but I can't stress how bad the service was. The rooftop bar was nice and the bartender was a hustler and she made awesome drinks. But we are local and will never go here again.
Solid restaurant, it just opened so we were the only ones I there, however, the food was great, drinks were good, I would go back.
Food was absolutely terrible and extremely overpriced. I would never eat here again.
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was very, very good but a little pricey for a fixed holiday menu. As a restaurant in Savannah though, they really need to have sweet tea available. We asked for a 1/2 sweet 1/2 unsweet tea. The server brought us two unsweet teas with two small creamer type containers filled with simple syrup. She said they do not have sweet tea. This is Georgia. They need to have sweet tea.
The actual food was fantastic. Salad with shaved pears, blue cheese (I asked them to leave it off ours) and a pecan vinaigrette dressing. Turkey, cornbread stuffing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole and fresh cranberry sauce. Plus a choice of pumpkin pie or chocolate pot de creme. All of it was very tasty.
Our server was very nice but seemed a bit inexperienced. She did not return to refill our drinks and we actually had to flag her down, after waiting about 20 minutes, to get our check and pay. Since the restaurant is newly opened, I am not very concerned about that as I am sure a routine will becoming standard soon. The other servers and table service were all very attentive and wonderfully nice. We will return again for future special dinners.
Ditch the plastic cups on the tables and get a server who knows the menu and behaves professional. I had the chicken paillard salad which should have been on the
Main menu not listed as a salad. It was presented as a cooked chicken breast with olive tapenade and a side salad, so I believe it’s misleading listed as a salad. The
Chicken was tender and flavorful a little too salty.
My husband ordered the wedge salad and loved every bite.
His pork loins were raw and the presentation was eh..
The pork wasn’t even browned and way too tough to eat.
Overall I would not come back.
Overall, everything was lovely. The staff was extremely polite and friendly and the food was delicious. We were table touched by the F&B director, Arthur, which was nice and then again by the floor manager before leaving. The only down side was our server wasn’t too attentive for it being a slow night. However, I will definitely return for the delicious food.
