The food at Revel is outstanding, and the service is as well.
It’s a cute, cozy little place with very good and creative small plate offerings as well as a few entree. The brussel sprout special was delicious as was the unusual “corn dog” appetizer and boudin balls. I also enjoyed the cheese plate. Happy hour is every day until 7 with great wine and cocktails. The service is friendly and efficient. I really enjoy going to Revel. (The Bar is fun too! It has that neighborhood feel to it)
Fantastic! I had to come back after less than two weeks, and it won’t be the last time. Chris and Laura are wonderful, their cocktails to die for and the food is amazing.
Fish tasted like liquid smoke. Mint julip had a sprig of mint, but did not appear muddled. Waitress kept squeezing between our tables to serve patrons on upper tier...having her rear end in my face got old.
Good local place, small and better suited to small tables. We were seated next to an extremely loud table but think it is atypical. Lots of cool cocktails and they know all the history behind them.
Culinary and drink menus are creative and delicious. Server was on the spot and helpful. Bar service is slow but it’s likely because they nurture each and every cocktail to perfection.
Thank you so much for a lovely New Year's dinner! From start to finish the attention to customer satisfaction was out of this world! The cocktails, food menu, and service were spectacular! If you're in New Orleans and looking for fabulous cuisine then head to Revel!
Food was excellent. Prices were reasonable and portions appropriate. Cocktail list was expansive with plenty to choose from and were great drinks. Will definitely stop in again soon.
Revel was our last stop on a trip to NO that featured a little too much indulging in food. But this was by far the best place we checked out, hands down the best cocktails we’ve ever had a very fun dinner menu to boot. Must order the crawfish grilled cheese.
Absolutely love this place. The owners are masters of the cocktail that are welcoming and can hold a conversation on a wide variety of topics. Food is inventive and delicious. A neighborhood gem.
Excellent meal & the cocktail list is the kicker. Chris is the tops.
I came for the craft cocktails, stayed for more as well as delicious small plates and wonderful conversation with husband and wife team knowledgeable fun bartenders! Don’t miss this place while in NOLA!
Excellent ,cocktails, food,cleanliness,
Great Place we will return.
Wanted to celebrate birthday in a restaurant with vegetarian options for friend. Menu was great with good options Food was fabulous and service was superb like a 5 star restaurant. Happy to have turned my friend who has lived here for 15 years to a new option. She will be back as will I
This is a small restaurant and bar with great old fashions and great food. Featured cocktail is half price. Food is original, delicious, and beautifully plated. Food selection is somewhat limited but there is enough diversity to find something appealing, and we liked everything we tried. Drink menu is much larger with many original cocktails.
Noise level is high but we could still hear each other across the table.
Great specialty cocktails. Great personal service.
When ever I an in New Orleans U try to get to Revel I am a fan of Chris's and love his storytelling about cocktails. The staff is always friendly and fantastic. it's the perfect place to catch up with friends. It's a great little mid-city spot if you haven't made it here yet...Go!
The best cocktails in New Orleans, period. Very reasonable price on both drinks and food. And they just took on a chef who is putting out some excellent fare. Everything from Bar Bites to entrees. Been coming here for 2 years and it never fails to impress
Dined at Revel for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday. Revel is not very large and as such, you are seated near the bar in an small open room. Needless to say, the noise level was extremely loud. We were forced to shout to each other the entire meal. Our server had to describe the specials twice on each side of our table in order to be heard by the entire party. Service was somewhat slow and uneven. It took about 20 minutes for our cocktails to be served. We ordered four appetizers for our group of five. Three of the four came out together, but the fourth wasn't delivered until after the others had been consumed. Subsequently, three of the entrees came out together and were served. The last two entrees weren't served for another 15 minutes. Fortunately, we're into sharing so no one had to wait without eating. They were out of two of the items on their menu. The food was good (Peanut Butter Burger, Steak Frites) to outstanding (Shrimp Crackers, Smoked Pork Nachos, Garlic Wings, Drum Tacos). The steak was flavorful but cooked medium instead of medium-rare. The burger was cooked medium-well instead of medium. Prices are reasonable. We spoke with the owner about the uneven service and she was very attentive and took our concerns seriously. We will probably go back at some point and attribute the visit to an off night.
The pungent, stale smell of cleaning supplies and being seated next to a wait station lined with brooms and dustpans was repulsive. We barely sat for 2 minutes before leaving.
Food was delicious. Course delivery rate was slow at first but picked up towards the end of the night. Staff was friendly
Amazing food and cocktails. Atmosphere, just okay.
The food selected from what we appreciate is a newly-expanded menu was terrific, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the value was superb. Terrific wine selection, including alternative chef-selected special wines. We met the chef – a real gentleman!
Revel is a true gem. Proprietors have a personal approach and make you welcome. Dishes are extraordinary and unlike many New Orleans restaurants, they do not spice things beyond recognition, but truly achieve the coordination of flavors that is the essence of good French/Cajun cooking. Though it is easy to let the first one or two dishes become your favorites, step out of the box and try other dishes on each visit. Come once. You will come back.
Revel's menu has recently expanded with the new chef. There are so many options we found it difficult to choose! We all enjoyed the food and cocktails, and we are happy to see that this restaurant is growing and thriving.
The cocktail master, Chris MacMillan, is an amazing mixmaster. The menu is small, intriguing and everything we ordered was phenominal. Don't miss Revel.
This place is a gem and serves great food until 11pm in Mid-City. Needless to say, the cocktails are perfection and it is a family affair!
Ate here on a Thursday just before the end of Happy Hour and there weren't too many people there. Ordered the Crawfish grilled cheese sandwich and it was great. Staff was extremely friendly and it was a great eating experience. My friend ordered the oysters and the hamburger and enjoyed them as well.
Delicious - and quick! We were in a hurry, and they got us in and out, but others were lingering both at the bar and at tables. I’d like to linger next time. Good relaxing atmosphere.
Drinks were good. Fries and sandwich good. The appetizers , house made cheese and cold meats were boring. Dessert was okay. Too many other places compete for my attention. Atmosphere is cute but they were completely void of customers. Menu very limited. Good for sandwiches and cocktails.
This is great for friends to get together. may not be the best for ea business lunch
Fantastic drinks, food, music, everything. Will definitely be back!
Our server was good. Place was quiet. The dinner and drink menus weren’t updated. A lot of drinks and food we requested we not available.
Welcomed liked family very interesting info on food and drink
Fantastic place! It was family owned and operated, and they have great passion for their dishes and cocktails! Very unique, quiet, and romantic on the inside. Perfect for a date or get together with friends! I had the crawfish grilled cheese and it was amazing. Did I mention it was on homemade bread? You should go :)
Amanda was great! Food is delicious!
My wife and I where here for happy hour and gotten a delicious mojito right off the back. We checked out the menu and saw a crawfish grilled cheese and had to get it. It was flaaaaaames! Cant go wrong. Although we love Laura and Chris very much they were quick fast and attentive. To see them handel the happy hour makes me proud to be there. Please go relax and enjoy. Watch them dine you into a New Orleans bliss.
It was a hot day and with the front door open the cafe was warm
This is one of my all time favorite go to easy restaurants. The owners are so kind and are there working to make sure all is perfect.
