The meatloaf is to die for! Love the outdoor tent to be safe with COVID!
Never had a chance to try this place. Made a reservation for outdoor seating and received an email confirmation of my reservation earlier on the day. However when my friends arrived they were told outdoor seating was unavailable. And as they were not comfortable eating indoors, we had to go elsewhere. The deck was closed due to some tree work and I can understand “things happen”. What infuriated me was that no one called me to tell me about this earlier. It was very embarrassing to arrive and find my friends waiting outside, ready to leave. Received an apology from the manager but nothing else. Go elsewhere!
Place was empty when we arrived..no one to check in to tell about Open Table reservation.. server told us to sit anywhere we wanted..
She was very attentive and efficient..food was good...
Overall a good experience.
During the covid shutdown we went for pick-meals, first time for sit down meal. The restaurant was a bit on the slow side. The meal was good. The main restaurant was not open my wife and I sat outside. The menu was adequate.
It was my birthday and I was disappointed the brunch buffet was not available. I was unaware the Covid-19 restrictions had not yet been lifted. I plan to return once the brunch buffet is fully operational.
everything was perfect - running late and they held our table - waitstaff was super fun and made the entire brunch so much better - lots of laughter coming from our table
Service was excellent, but an extremely loud group at the bar - including one horribly loud person - made the evening less than pleasant. Although servers were apologetic, a manager should have spoken to the group about their noise level. Tables all around us were amazed at the rudeness of the group in a dining room at the dinner hour.
We have a very nice visit to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were warmly cared for by our waitress and received free desserts to celebrate our special evening.
Wanted a great outdoor dining experience at the hotel
We stayed at for our wedding anniversary. Was a lovely time.
Awesome food and awesome service highly recommend
Came here for the first time for my birthday breakfast. Food was delicious and FRESH! Our server Jackie was nice and so funny! Staff gave me a cheesecake with a candle- so sweet and one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had! THANK YOU DESMOND for a nice start to my day!
It was a perfect evening on the deck. Food was great. Drinks were awesome!
Our server and the other staff did a great job, unfortunately, the kitchen did not hold up their part of the bargain. The food was mediocre at best for all five entrees ordered. I have eaten here on several occasions and this is the first time the food has been disappointing, possibly because it was mid-day and not dinner?
The food was very good! Not sure who was in charge? Tables were being moved around, as we arrived and while we were eating. Moved tables were being carried overhead of people standing around lost. The wait staff worked hard to cover for the lack of organization. Many people were wondering around trying to find where to go. Eat inside, eat outside? They need a host to direct the guests.
The venue was nice but the area was very loud even though social distancing was in practice. Food choices were good, but most hot items were only tepid temperature wise. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Mom's day brunch at the Desmond is a great place to take your family. We have been doing it for years and they always deliver. Only one year did we stray and try somewhere else...and we paid the price of being sorely disappointed!
Mothers day / Not a huge selection this year at all for the price, food was cold, in some instances, service wasn’t as great as it used to be. Was always so impressed with the brunch and the pricing that was a little upset or just how it wasn’t as up to par as it usually is, especially with the presentation and just all of it
The Desmond's Mother's Day Brunch was outstanding. The food, service and everything in between.
The Desmond continues to be my favorite place to eat in the Malvern area. The food is always great and the service is outstanding.
Outstanding served Easter buffet. The entire experience was very nice.
We were at the Desmond for Easter brunch and enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. I especially like the way they did the buffet during these pandemic times.
The service was great, so I can’t fault our server in any way! However, the food was a bit lackluster. Everything was fairly fresh, but the offerings were kind of basic and didn’t have much flavor.
Service always friendly and not rushed
Food always as expected
Nice local place to grab a meal while on business travel or after a day at the office.
I struggle to complete reviews these days . . . Covid restrictions have ravaged this industry. Under normal circumstances, this venue delivers a consistently favorable experience. What I'd say is that if you enjoy dining out, do your part to keep your community's restaurants open, knowing that menu selections are limited, staff is shorthanded and your party will be seated in the least costly section of the venue to operate.
If we all do our part to support, hopefully, all our favorites can claw their way to a vibrant comeback
Thank you for your input - we are right around the corner from being able to bring staff back & offering more options. We appreciate your understanding - Kind Regards Restaurants at the Desmond
The Desmond is a great place to eat. I like to go on a Sunday for brunch.
expected to eat in the fork and bottle, instead we ended up eating in the bar.
i know there is a "crisis" going on, but this was not what i expected. it is a shame
things have declined so fast. only thing prices have not changed! until things change, i will not be back
It was just two of us on Thanksgiving night. Hotel was beautiful. Only two waitress' so service wasn't as attentive but still good. Food was great except they ran out if yams....on Thanksgiving....and they knew how many people were coming because you need reservations....ok. I would try again on a non holiday night.
This was our first time eating at the Desmond. Not only was the food delicious, the service and staff were wonderful
The Thanksgiving dinner was great. The food was delicious, especially the Acorn Squash soup. The whole dinner was a nice remembrance of Thanksgiving and what one expects a Thanksgiving dinner to be. The service was professional and friendly. A nice Thanksgiving!
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the Desmond.
Our meal was delicious and the wait staff was terrific.
The food and service have always been tops, but in a wacked-out year when you can't celebrate with your family, Desmond offered the perfect place and the perfect menu for a Thanksgiving feast for the two of us.
Couldn't ask for better service or dining experience during these tough times!! Excellent job!
Last minute brunch on a Sunday early afternoon. The place was empty so it was nice and quiet. As tasty as the food was the service was even better. The waitress and bartender went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our experience. They worked great together and kept us entertained most of our meal. We will be back for sure.
Great spot for brunch. Steak and eggs was outstanding!
21st Wedding Anniversary dinner.
They sat us at a table that was directly next to a door to get outside. Outside there was a function of about 75 people going in and out of the door. Freezing, we asked to move our table. It was then wiped off and soaked when we sat.
Food was poor. Fish was dry and my carrots were practically raw.
Staff was hurried and not very present.
Ate on the deck. Quite and relaxing. Room temperature was comfortable.
Just a great experience!! The food was amazing and the service was as well. I will be returning!
Our first dinner out since March. It was to celebrate our anniversary. We felt safe & comfortable w the seating. The service was perfect. We enjoyed every part of our meal. Well done by Tara & our other server (I cannot remember her name ☹️.). We will definitely be back.
Great service, great quality food. I would definitely recommend.
