We were two couples and had a very enjoyable meal at Epik. The table d'hote had a nice selection of pasta, seafood or osso bucco with appetizers and dessert for a very reasonable price between $35-$45. Great value for Old Montreal and each bite was delicious. The service was also excellent. We'll all be back for sure.
We were in Montreal for the weekend and decided to try this restaurant in the old part of the city. We had a fantastic time, even our "foodie" friends were impressed. Not crowded (maybe we hit a good weekend?) , very informed and attentive staff, excellent food. We would return and would recommend to others.
Very slow service - took quite awhile to have food order taken and over an hour to receive entrees (just pasta dishes). Server told us they had a party of 16 somewhere in the restaurant and "had to get theirs all out at once". My gnocchi was excellent - lasagne just okay - edges dry like a reheat. Somewhat disappointed overall...
Our family of 5, including one teenager, had a comfortable dinner at Epic this past weekend. The staff is friendly and helpful. Only one food complaint - my husband's rolled veal was too salty. Everything else was fine. The space is cozy but quiet, thanks to a tufted plush wall covering on one end of the room.
Nous avions réservé une table dans la salle à manger pour occasion spéciale(mariage privé) et l'hôtesse a changé notre réservation pour table dans la section bar, heureusement elle s'est ravisée mais avons été déçus du non respect de la réservation initiale.
Accueil sympathique, service courtois, attentionné, agréable. Un personnel vraiment professionnel. De plus, le restaurant a un accès pour fauteuil roulant, ce qui est très rare dans le Vieux Montréal.
La seule chose que je déplore c'est que, lorsque je viens pour réserver, je me retrouve sur un site intermédiaire et non en communications directement avec le restaurant, et de plus en anglais seulement. Pourquoi des organisations s'insèrent entre le client et le fournisseur de services, sinon pour faire de l'argent aux dépens des deux ? Et pourquoi ces intrus n'ont même pas le souci de s'adresser à nous en français ?
Very good ambiance.
I ordered shrimp and barley risotto, it was tasty, but the portion is very small. Note: my husband ordered Frutta di mare pasta and his portion was huge.
Only issue was that because we were celebrating a special occasion (I noted that on my reservation) that it wasn't even noted by our server. I think that would make a big difference and go that extra mile. Then why even bother asking if there is additional comments on the reservation
Finally sitting at the back of the restaurant is really warm.
It's not our first time at this restaurant and we always had amazing food and service above and beyond. This time they were clearly under staff for a Saturday evening. We had to ask for coffee twice, the cream was not fresh and ruined the coffee. Dessert did not come at the same time as the coffee. It is not usually this way, we always extremely good service with David the Maître d'hotel.
Service sympathique mais brouillon. Les odeurs de cuisine imprégnaient nos vêtements à la sortie et des gouttes d'eau provenant de l'air conditionné s'égouttait sur mes épaules et ma tête.
La nourriture aurait pu être très bonne mais manquait de rigueur (pieuvre et poisson trop cuit et les spaghettis de calibre 1 n'étaient pas al Dente !
J'y retournerais en hiver lorsqu'il y aura moins de touriste car le personnel est très sympa et je suis certain que la cuisine peut être bonne
