Restaurant Claudine, Carpenter Carpenter’s third establishment, resides in a remodeled home in the up-and-coming Government Hill neighborhood. The space offers snug tables surrounded by elegant hand-painted wallpaper, vintage chandeliers, and sentimental pictures of our namesake, Houston Carpenter’s grandmother, Claudine.

We offer dinner Monday-Sunday, with Tea Time on Saturday and Sunday morning's. Restaurant Claudine has recently launched a new menu that features French-inspired cuisine for both brunch and dinner.

Very average. The food was very pricey and just ok. “Medium rare” burger was well done. $180 bottle of wine, the cork broke so they decanted. It was warm and not great. And we were unable to bring with us as it had been decanted. I wondered why there were tables available last minute on a Friday and now I know. It’s sad because the building is beautiful. Service was above average but still very slow. Food just not up to par.

My family and I had such a great experience on our first visit that I decided to bring my wife here for Mother’s Day. Talk about a night a day experience. The service was horrible. We waited over an hour for our food and when it came out it was cold. The made my dish again and it still came out cold. The waitress that serviced us was pretty bad. It took her over 25 mins to bring out coke and beer. We love the setting but I’m not sure if we will be coming back.

Nice little place. Steak was cooked well done when asked for medium rare. Ran out of ordered items and had to order sandwich which wasn’t good. No kids items. Flies all over inside on kept going on food which we didn’t eat because of it.

Went for my birthday on a Wednesday so it was practically empty. I got the Caesar salad and my boyfriend got the steak and both dishes were amazing! Would definitely recommend

Beautiful tea room with nice menu. Tea service was a bit expensive for what you received. Service was good and location was convenient close to the Pearl.

Service and food were outstanding. Our server, Jeremy, was awesome and tended to all of our needs. We had escargot and the mussels for appetizers and they were phenomenal. My wife had the summer scallops and I had the secret menu spicy caper paster with shrimp. They both were to die for. So good!

Wonderful. Everything was so nice love the ambience and our waiter was attentive and so friendly. The portions for our fish were so big.
