Went on a Saturday night. Loved the vibes and live music but poor service. Food came out cold and server forgot to put in an order for someone I was with so her food came out 30 minutes later than everyone else.
Very convenient , great atmosphere , friendly wait staff. We ate here the next day as well
Food was superb, great wine selection. We especially liked the live jazz music as well. Only negative is that I would prefer a table height dining table instead of a bar height table for a high end dinner.
We went for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner. I had the Scottish Salmon which was excellent! My husband got buccatini pasta with ragu sauce and meatballs, he really liked his as well. We got the seafood medley type appetizer, also excellent!! One thing I would recommend though, which we did, was bring your own nice bottle of wine. They only charge $20 for a corkage fee, and the bottles they have start at $40 (there are really only 2 for that price) and can be up to $100!! I’d rather spend my money on the good food.
If you want an upscale feel and wonderful food and service, I don’t know how you would compare them as everything was such a wonderful experience. Food great, service great, just such a hidden treasure. Will definitely be back.
Lovely Valentine’s Day meal— thanks for having the regular menu option, as the pre fixe is way more food than we want!
Ambience is wonderful
Food was excellent
Terrible food. Never going back.
The restaurant and bar occupy the same space. It was pleasant when we arrived but about half way through the evening it became noisy and crowded. The food was okay but not excellent.
Beautiful restaurant. The food was very tasty, the waitress was very kind and attentive. Vicki was sweet and did a wonderful job as did Brody. We will definitely stay here again and come back to the restaurant.
Appetizers took forever, slow service first drink took over 20 minutes to receive. Food came out cold. Beautiful place , but service not too good and food was just ok. Took 50 minutes just to get our meat and cheese tray appetizer.
We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is top notch and the service is superior!! Every time we come here it’s amazing. Thanks to everyone involved. I think I said it before but, management must be top notch because this gem is consistently perfect .
Food was 50/50. Half of our party enjoyed their dishes (filet & lasagna) and the other half did not (steak frites). The service was a little slow, we had a new server, so I get it. I liked the feel of the restaurant and appreciate the complementary valet.
My wife and I were in town for the weekend and I booked a table here after seeing the good reviews. She got the skirt steak and I got the pork belly. Unfortunately both entrees were over cooked, with hers actually being charred. My meal came with country potatoes that were underdone and almost crunchy. I also had a smoked carrot puree, which was fantastic! The atmosphere was nice but for the price, it was a disappointing meal overall.
no live music in the mourning your space is full of hard surfaces and it makes for bad conversation
Great location and our waiter Brody was great. Really great cocktails and the wine was not marked up too much. The smoked salmon appetizer was fantastic. I had the roast chicken which was a bit dry but the broth and veggies were amazing. My wife had the salmon which was delightful but could have used a sauce.
Great atmosphere, and the food was food. Love the live band on Friday night. Service was good but waited awhile to be seated.
Service was a little slow but the food was amazing! It was a lovely quiet spot until a loud table sat next to us. All in all, I recommend it.
Was a great spot for a business meeting lunch. We were lucky enough to visit on restaurant week and have a few more options. Portion size and taste were an A+ from our group.
Fortunately the chiefs won this evening, unfortunately a number of drunken fans took over the bar with no appreciation for the normal dinners... not the restaurant staffs fault but the set up
We had a great date night at Reserve. The food was great and loved that the wine list was good, and not overly marked up. Great spot for a date night. Following along with other great finds over on Instagram @kallieflexman
Food was very good. The restaurant layout is weird and caught me off guard. Small and dark. Service was not good, not bad. Would return if staying close by but not do the drive especially to eat there.
this was a meal that was being comped because of a previous bad experience. It was also New Year's Eve so they had a limited menu. My steak was almost raw (I ordered it medium) and it was cold. The soup was cold. The salad was nothing more than lettuce. (was suppose to have goat cheese, but I am allergic). No croutons, no nuts, no other veggies, etc. Only 2 options for dressing, neither of which were great choices. My husband had pasta. The chicken was burnt and the pasta had sat so long it was cold as well as the sauce had soaked in so it was really dry. The noodles were also not cooked completely. The first time we came to the reserve it was great. This is our third. 2 of the 3 were not good and it is NOT a cheap place. You would expect a very high quality for the prices they are charging. Very disappointing.
Limited menu on New Year's Eve - no appetizers. The dining area was cold. The food was OK but not worth the price.
Horrible experience. Fish was undercooked. Service was terrible. Extremely overpriced for what it was.
Great atmosphere. Awesome bartender. Jazz music was also great.
The menu was special since it was Christmas day. However, we each had an excellent house salad, followed by main courses of scallops and Scottish salmon. Both were excellent--served hot and cooked just right, with very tasty vegetables. We split a delicious orange-cinnamon cheesecake. Our server was personable and very attentive. This was our third visit to Reserve and we have never been disappointed.
Over priced food for the quantity , customer service poor
Family picks a different restaurant each year for Christmas Eve. I Was a little disappointed in food quality and value but rest of family thought it was fine.
Loved the Korean Vegetable Soup! The service was outstanding too!
Our table was next to a table expecting a large private party. The wait staff was nice although not attentive. Visits to our table was lengthy. Did not deliver requested condiments, charged us for a bowl of soup and received a cup. Soup was cold and soda was flat.
The menu is limited which why we chose...yet the item selected was out of stock for a 6:00pm reservation. Walk in customers received more attention and service. Food was tasty if Salmon crostini, reserve salad, and tomato soup is a measuring stick.
Warm bottle of Chardonnay. Bottle opened without courtesy of checking label. No tasting, just poured into glasses. Waiter felt put off I asked for a bucket of ice to chill wine.
Lasagna and salmon completely dry. Worst restaurant I’ve dined in KC over 18 months I’ve lived there.
I took a group of 9 people to Reserve for a holiday dinner. While the food looked good overall, it was a miss for several people. One who ordered the steak and frites said he’d never had a chewier skirt steak. Another ordered the scallop special and said they were especially fishy. I ordered the filet and let the waiter know I was dairy free. When my food came out the green beans were bone dry with no butter, olive oil or seasoning in sight and my steak was smothered in a demi glacé. After getting sick that evening and looking up recipes for demi glacé, I am certain there was butter in it. Disappointing.
Great cocktail, seating was confusing and my water was never refilled. Having the bartender serve tables outside the bar is likely not the beat service for guests when there is an actual server on the floor. There's no host and it's open seating which is odd for a space that uses a reservation system. I would repeat a visit for quiet drinks.
Birthday dinner. We loved it!!!
It’s like eating at the bar but paying for fine dining. Paid for the beat cut of steak but it was full of fat. Not enough menu options. Won’t go back.
Loved the atmosphere and the meal was delicious!
There were a few groups of people on business dinners, and the food was amazing.
The Reserve is always beautiful. The free valet parking is also nice. They were out of steak and the dessert sweet potatoes. 3 out of the 4 of us weren’t able to order what we wanted, due to them being out of the ingredients.
