Food and service was great...they knew we had a show to make at nearby Mahaffey Theatre and made sure we were served in time to make show...big wine selection
We had a phenomenal time!! The staff was overly friendly and attentive, the food was so amazing!! Overall we had a fantastic time, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and definitely looking forward to going back to it!! Thanks for the great times and memories :)
Three of us dined there on Saturday and enjoyed the energetic and lively crowd and ambience. We were there at about 7:45 on a Saturday evening and it was quite busy. The food was delicious, the presentation great and the wine selection excellent. The Gamba shrimp tapas might be the best shrimp I’ve ever had.
Everything was great and Claudio’s team did an outstanding job with our Tomahawk steak.
Seated immediately. Took a while to get attention. There was always something missing from the table (place setting, app plate, glass), and it took a while to get menus. We never felt like we were getting attended to.
Kids drank water. My wine was excellent. Wife's dirty martini wasn't dirty at start and still not very good after "fixed". Since Argentinian place, cut them some slack. Wife switched to my Malbec and really liked it. Drinks ran out and cups were empty around table for a long while.
Appetizers were tasty - highlight food-wise of the visit. Shared grilled octopus with my son. tasted good, Tostones with pesto were a touch, but portion was a little small for the price. Get same at Acropolis and portion is always larger. Wife and daughters enjoyed their apps.
Wife had ordered a salad, too. Waited a very long time for entrees. Saw many who sat after us get their food before. Some even paid and left before we got our main dishes. Kids were having good time conversing so we were trying to roll with it. Waitress finally came by to apologize for long wait for food. I reminded her of salad which she obviously had forgotten about. It showed up a few minutes later and then a few minutes after that (not enough time to eat and enjoy the salad), the entrees arrived.
Daughter ordered a filet mignon medium rare. It was white from across the table. And this is a steak house. Wife's sea bass ($$$$) was overcooked as well. I shared the house signature parilla. Meat, chicken and chorizo were good (great chimichurri sauce), but the pork chop was dry as a bone. Not edible.
Sent steak back. 2nd steak was medium. Not medium rare.
No manager ever addressed us. They did not take anything off the bill, including the steak. Waitress forced 2 desserts on us "on the house" even though we said 5 times we did not want it.
There are a lot of good options in downtown St Pete. We had high hopes for this since it was a birthday we were celebrating. Very disappointing.
Don’t know what happened to this place, it’s unfortunate. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food and it came out terrible. We got 1 of our appetizers before our drinks and then had to ask for the rest of the appetizers. The whole experience was bad. I’m sadden about this because the place has great potential.
Wonderful food and service. The aged porterhouse steak was perfect. Enjoyed the octopus carpaccio as well. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. A decent wine selection that’s not overpriced. A friendly place… not stuffy.
Great food. The taste was amazing and the staff was very friendly. A bit pricy but the meat was really good. Will definitely go again for a special occasion.
Food was excellent. Only challenge was how busy it was. Service got behind and it took almost an hour to get our food.
Great food, Great value. I recommend the beef here.
This was an excellent restaurant with Latin American themed menu. Lots of choices in a variety of meets, pasta and fish. The rack of lamb was excellent. My wife had the beef tips tapas which were enough for a meal. Great tapas dishes including empanadas and a corn bread stuffed with cheese that was to die for. Great dessert menu also.
Food and service was great. Recommended to try beef here.
Food was great
Frist time there for date
Service of the waitresses was very very poor
Not what I want to see
The food was overpriced and mediocre. The service was super slow. The nicest thing I can say was that the manager was kind and did his best when it was brought to his attention that we were missing numerous items. But we won’t be dining there again.
We got the All Beef Parillo and the steaks were delicious and flavorful. The sides dishes however were lukewarm not hot but they were very delicious too. We had the mashed potatoes which were freshly made and the mixed vegetable. Both were delicious.
We were seated right away and welcomed with a complimentary aperitif. We enjoyed the Palmito salad and 2 steaks. Great selection of Argentine wines. They mixed up our appetizer order but we decided to try it and it was good. The staff were very friendly and gave us good recommendations. We ate outside so there was no noise. The inside was pretty full and conversation was lively. We took home leftover steak to add to a salad! Overall a really good experience.
Very enjoyable meal at this charming St Pete restaurant. The owner greeted us and checked in several times throughout our meal. Food was well executed with the shrimp appetizer being my favorite. Would definitely go back.
Too many tables in a crowded space, specially during a pandemic. Not enough staff in the kitchen. Waiter had no idea on how to handle a crowded restaurant. Food was tolerable, at best. Half of the order never came.
Great food! Service was a little slow but with the pandemic, this was understandable. Will be returning
Will never come here again. We made a reservation. When we arrived no one greeted us, and it took about 10 minutes for someone to ask if we had one. They did not have a table ready for us so they sat us outside in the rain. From there it only got worse.
The food was pretty good but it took about an hour and a half to arrive. They are not organized at all. Servers were all running around like it was a new restaurant. Friendly but VERY slow service. The table next to us complained about it as well.
Steaks are really excellent, juicy and flavorful, great array of dry aged steaks, prices were excellent considering the quality.
The steak was amazing!
Wonderful experience as always!!
Renzo's is an excellent venue that is not the typical "American" fare (not that there is anything wrong with that!). Complimentary aperitif was a perfect start to our evening meal. We shared the Parrilla Solo Carne which was wonderful, but way too much food for the two of us. Our wait staff - William and Christian - were appropriately attentive and knowledgeable, making sure we were enjoying our meal.
The food was horrible. Over cooked. The service was horrible. Waiter would forget to bring us our drinks. Seemed a little lost. We did not enjoy our food. Will not be returning x
Nice ambiance, good appetizers, fast service and amazing food. Definitely coming back.
Took my co-workers here thinking it would be a nice experience based off of the reviews and I was quite embarrassed. They did not have most of the dishes on the menu, steak was delivered burnt when asked for medium, most of the food was cold. Salads came with and after the main dishes were served. Just a very interesting experience. I wouldn’t recommend. Wine was decent! That was a plus.
Love Renzos. Meals always have authentic flavor. Services is consistently very good. And the ambiance is comfortably romantic.
Worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. So bad that the server even gave us a bottle opener to open our own bottles of wine.
Wait staff were very friendly and kind. My wife loves their red sangria. The old fashioned might be the best I’ve ever had. Could make a meal out of the yuca fries and croquetas!
Claudio was fantastic to start. He figured out we had a poor experience our first time at Renzo’s, so he started the meal and treated us extremely well. Took our app orders, and offered cocktail/wine/food recommendations, which were all fantastic. Once our server took over, things went downhill quickly. He seemed overwhelmed. We ordered two glasses of wine to enjoy with our steak, which we never received. He was nonexistent. The flavors are excellent and Claudio was fantastic, but not sure we’ll be back until they can get their service issues under control.
Our server was incredible and helpful. However, it was clear she was overwhelmed with the number of tables as she kept forgetting things we had asked, brought the wrong salad, and kept bringing dishes/silverware/glasses for an extra person after we had told her we were only 3 people in the party.
However, the food was exquisite, the ambiance was great, and I would go back again and again.
Great first visit. Large meat platter was fab
Great food and experience!
My wife got the chicken cordon blu and it was way over cooked and dry. My steak was ok but not worth 30 dollars.
The staff is wonderful. Meats are tender and flavorful. The charcuterie appetizer was plentiful. The empanada trio came with a delicious salsa. The restaurant has an extensive selection of wines and a full bar. The desserts were great. Flan was excellent.
we had a reservation for 7:30 and didnt get seated until 8:15.
our server ' Betsy" forgot our drinks , then forgot 2 sides.
worst expiernce downtown in a long time .
too many options downtown for this level of service
Waited so long even just for bread. They were out of the first 3 bottles of wine I tried to order.
Lamb came out salty and not cooked correct.
Loved our steak! And the cha ja dessert is amazing!
Wonderful staff and delicious meal!
