Went to Relish for a birthday dinner with a group of friends. We had amazing service and enjoyed our dinner!
Excellent food and beautiful presentation. Our table of 6 were all happy campers.
Lovely meal with friends. Very accommodating staff.
Everything was absolutely delicious.
Well-prepared dishes nicely presented. Very pleasant and attentive service. Lively bar scene but not too noisy. Attractive décor and ambience.
This was our first time at Relish and found it to be very good. Service was prompt. The food was good. We had a very nice meal for the money spent
Relish is good for lunch, but I expected more for dinner. We ordered a bottle of wine, but the waiter didn't know that they didn't have any more. We ordered a different bottle, but he should have known more. Also, when I cut into one of my pieces of fried chicken, it was bloody uncooked. He took it back and brought me another piece. The knowledge and service was like that of an upscale diner. The are trying, but have a way to go.
I did like the menu, however, and will return.
Delicious food and great service at dinner. Nice craft drinks.
The menu choices are much to our liking.
Lovely gentleman/chef/owner is very engaging even when busy. Love this restaurant.
We will be back often!!
Service, wine and food were excellent! All the staff were extremely friendly!
The food was outstanding, the service seemed a little bogged down but it was Valentines Day evening. Very nice, lounge-esque ambiance. Very much recommended.
Great atmosphere and great food
We had Valentine's Dinner at Relish and it was amazing. We liked that they had a full menu, because other restaurants will have a limited menu on Valentine's Day. Also the pricing was very reasonable.
Went here for valentine day. Had an excellent bottle of wine - Austin Hope. The cheese board was good. The lamb meatballs were good. The chicken wings were ok.
Delicious food with great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Many visits, many good meals. Both lunch and dinner.
Always friendly service and good food. Owner always on site making sure everyone taken care of.
As always wonderful food. Everyone loved their dishes.
Overall very solid, pasta dish could have been much more flavorful.
Hangar steak was decent, flounder was excellent.
Good food, great service
Food always good. Friendly service
Great neighborhood bistro. Interesting cocktail menu and shareable appetizers like Hot Crab Dip. Varied menu that always satisfies. Friendly service.
This was not my first visit to Relish but it might be my last. The service was rushed. I felt they wanted our table as soon as possible. The food was average but served lukewarm. Maybe it was the holidays but I’m not impressed.
Crab cake was delicious. Moscow mule, well, that was the smallest mule cup I have ever seen. Others said their food was okay, nothing specific.
Overall the food was good and the homemade biscuits were delicious! Waitress was very attentive.
Server rarely came by the table we had to wait almost 20 minutes to get our ticket after we had finished our meal. Food itself was great, just disappointed in the service.
The food was mixed- good to very good. Some dishes were very good and creative; others good. Service was OK. Overall still a good place to go, but worried it is losing its shine.
Great service! Friendly staff. Ok food.
Food is delicious, especially deviled eggs for an appetizer. My only complaint is their limited choices for wine by the glass. Then they charge you $16 for a glass of wine that can be bought for $18/bottle.
We went for the deserts & coffee. The service was not the best especially considering it could have been something so easy for the waiter and enjoyable for us. On the menu it clearly states almond, soy & 2 % milk to order with the coffee & lates. When we asked for soy and almond milk the waiter said “no” that we couldn’t get that. I showed him the menu and he got frustrated with us and said “sure”. So I asked again can we have soy and or almond milk. He wasn’t happy but again said...”sure” with a very perturbed face. Still not sure what we actually got with the coffee. Then I asked for a to go cup for my hot coffee. He brings me a plastic cup. My coffee was too hot to use a plastic cup. So we asked for a styrofoam or paper cup. The waiter told us they were environmentally friendly and didn’t have that. Which this was confusing because the plastic was not environmentally friendly at all. When deciding to go out and spend $60 on coffee and deserts at a nice restaurant I would expect a better level of friendliness and service.
Great food in a casual atmosphere! Have been to this restaurant many times now for dinner, brunch and happy hour. Salads are super fresh and flavorful, entrees are delicious but can be a bit heavy, and pastries are to die for, especially the rosemary biscuits served with dinner, carrot cake and cinnamon roll (also used in bread pudding!). Wines are reasonably priced and have loved the specialty drinks I've tried (favorite is the garden one).
Always consistently good comfort food and friendly staff. Also impressed owner always on hand.
Relish is our favorite restaurant in Houston. Food is fresh, not fussy, with portions that leave you satisfied. We have eaten there many times, with friends from out of town, for our birthdays, or just when we want to treat ourselves to a really good meal out. We also went one time just to have appetizers and dessert because we were always too full for dessert when we had a salad and entree. Service is always excellent as well. Your only problem will be choosing from among all the great menu items and cocktails.
The food choices were varied and interesting. I got the liver mousse with pickled vegetables and my husband got the pasta suga rosa. He said it was at the top of all pastas he had eaten, and I enjoyed my pate, greatly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wanted a great lunch or quick dinner and will be eating there again. The ambiance was kind of spoiled by a very loud group of women sitting in the corner. They were talking loudly enough to be heard clearly over the music, which was rather annoying. I guess they thought they were the only people in the place. The house rose was excellent.
Liked it a lot! Just stopping in for something light after a cocktail event . Will go back again to try an entree. Location is ideal for us and service was very good. Saw several friends there which was fun.
Enjoyed my dinner at Relish. Rosemary biscuits are to die for. Will go back
Wonderful restaurant. Only problem was dessert was served scorching hot and burnt tongue very badly. Manager was very concerned and addressed problem very professionaly
Loved the spicy crab dip as a starter! It's enough for an entire meal. Service was perfectly attentive!
This was not our 1st time @ Relish. The food was excellent as always. The service is usually excellent as well but not this time. The service started out very attentive. As the meal progressed the service declined. We had to ask for proper knife & additional silverware because someone in our party didn't have any. We ordered after dinner decaf coffees plus a mixed drink. The mixed drink came right away but we waited at least 10-20 mins. for the coffees only then to be told that the decaf was unavailable/out of order. The person drinking the mixed drink was already finished by the time our 2nd order of after dinner coffees arrived. Our waitress seemed disorganized & overworked.
Really pleasant atmosphere for a neighborhood restaurant to go have a nice meal in a cosy setting. I really enjoyed it for a relaxing night out. We were there early, so I think it was quieter. Good meal. A little pricey for a quick night out, but I enjoyed it!
