Reid’s Cafe is located in beautiful Sugar Mountain, NC. We love the intentional, the specific, and the well-cared-for. We work closely with our local farms and purveyors to curate fresh, seasonal menus that feature regionally sourced meats, a rotation of fresh oysters and select seafood. All of our breads, pastas, and pastries are prepared in-house daily. Our Bar offers local beers, seasonal craft cocktails, and a well chosen wine selection. We are currently operating under all Covid-19 restrictions and following all CDC and local guidelines. The health and safety of our guests and our staff is our #1 priority. Outdoor reservations are by phone only. We look forward to seeing you.

Such an exquisite little restaurant! The chef is a talented artisan. He created nuanced dishes ~ every bite providing an experience of unexpected delight, aromatics, and balance, appropriate to the season. His wife Jessica, the manager and our server, impressed with her thoroughness and finesse.

We had a very special evening at Reid's. We both ordered the duck entree, which was outstanding. The salad was so creative, with fruit, braised radichio, slices of butternut squash, and fresh made ricotta, truly delicious and a nice compliment to the duck. Service was friendly and prompt. Reid's has a full bar, and we can always get the drink we want. We hope to get back to Reid's soon, to try other entrees on the winter menu.

The wagyu steak and acorn squash was perfectly prepared. Both were very tender and perfectly cooked. The pepitos were a nice touch. The beignets were okay...very simple and good for dunking in expresso. The apple cake looked more like apple pie filling with a biscuit. Everyone cleaned their plate. Reid's food is always interesting and their chef always offers a unique take. Sometimes dishes are more to your taste than others. But there's always a unique spin on every meal.

If you are on the mountain and want oysters, it is Reid's all the way! It's hard to get to the entrees as the starters and soup & salads are too exciting and delicious. And the cocktail menu is off the charts amazing. Treat yourself to Reid's.

Lovely decor and friendly staff. Food extremely overpriced with limited selections. We ordered shrimp fried rice which tasted so awful we weren’t able to eat and enjoy it. I don’t know how they made it taste so horrible. Would not recommend and will never go back.

You definitely need a reservation, as this seems to be a "hot spot"...and there aren't many barstools for walk-ins. At first glance, menu seems limited, however!! You soon discover that it's because the food is more than OUTSTANDING and the quality is incredible. These Chefs have skills and while it's pricey ... its worth it. Order the Rosemary bread ... the She Crab Soup.. we'll be back.

Celebrated our Anniversary ate Reid’s and they did not disappoint. Service, Food and experience was exemplary. Actually sat at the Bar arriving 30 minutes prior to reservation. The Cocktails were perfect and the food was as good as you’ll find anywhere in the Highlands. Definitely made it a special occasion!

We arrived and were greeted by Jessie, always a pleasant interaction. She seated us immediately in the side room which is much quieter and more intimate and you can watch the kitchen at work. Let me begin by saying we have never been disappointed at Reid’s. The ambiance, food and cocktails are consistent. Always changing, but always living up to expectations! Our waiter was delightful. We wanted to “dine”, and Daniel never rushed us, but was always available. The way the seating is arranged, you will be sharing a ,booth/bench with the next table. We have met some lovely people and shared great conversations with our “neighbors”. I cannot encourage you enough to try this restaurant. We have a home in an area (Atlanta)which offers amazing food, but this little local place outshines many of those establishments. Do not miss Reid’s!! Favorites were the charcuterie board, the pork chop and all of the desserts. The cocktails are creative and fabulous. I have had the grilled oysters in the past and always delicious. Nothing negative to say here

I got the pork chop medium and it came out undercooked. The server did ask if I wanted it done more but I declined. My wife’s Mahi Mahi was so so, was expecting more flavor. The oysters and drinks were fabulous but our entrees didn’t hit the mark.

Dane is an incredible Server! That is definitely an important part of this review. We enjoyed an amazing pasta dish with some fresh made pasta and Pistachio Peato, on the table was also their infamous pork chop, and the roast chicken was delicious. If you are into oysters, you must try some here. Their selection of oysters is ever changing, and they are fresh and delicious with multiple sauce options and all the right trimming including grill, Buttered, toast wedges. we were too full for dessert this time but last time was a Key Lime Trifle. Amazing
