Love the food!
We love the crab legs at red tracton’s! My husband is very fond of liver, which is not available many places, everything we have tried has been very good. The service is excellent, and the portions more than generous.
If you have a taste for Lobster don't miss this special treat....Open face Lobster salad sandwich. It's incredible and worth the trip. But be sure to reserve it in advance, it sells out quickly. Now available on Fridays and Saturdays. Yum!
Always the best !!! Tracton’s is my go to for steak and cocktails... best salad, great steak, nice people..
Everything on the menu is excellent. Great portions, you will not leave hungry...
Always a favorite, from the marvelous prime rib to the excellent "New York steakhouse" ambiance, Red Tracton's never disappoints. Sitting at the bar, with Jimmy pouring scotch, you might even forget what zip code you're in. If you're a horse racing aficionado, this is the place, for you. Suffice it to say, we love the place.
Had lunch here, we had lobster bisque (best ever) and almost a meal alone. I had the open face lobster sandwich, it was amazing. We left full and with leftovers.
The Lobster Bisque and Prime Rib was excellent. We went a little early as the night progressed it was very busy, glad we got in early.
We ordered the half wedge salad, and it was just passable. No bacon, huge slice of red onion, and the dressing wasn’t that good.
Next we had steaks. For the price, they weren’t great. My son had the prime rib, end cut, and it was beyond dry. The baked potato side did come with all the toppings we like, but the potato itself was blah. I’ve had baked potatoes that were amazing, so this was disappointing. The Mac and cheese was blah.
But the drinks were very good. If I were to go again, it would be for drinks and music in the lounge only. Very expensive place for lower quality food.
Best food and service. We always enjoy the cajun-spiced 12 oz halibut...best ever! Service is always great too
Our group of six has eaten at Red Tracton's a few times in the past and most of us couldn't wait to get our bowl of Lobster Bisk which was the best we ever had! Unfortunately, the bisk wasn't as good as in the past and it should have given us a heads up as to what was to come! I ordered the Sunday special fried chicken dinner which my server recommended instead of my normal steak that I would have ordered. When it was served, I received a plate full of a whole cut chicken that was obviously deep fried, over cooked and had no seasoning on it. It was a major turn off just to look at it piled on my plate! It was replaced with chicken Marsala which was just average and I ate only a mall amount of it and took it and my huge baked potato home. I ended up tossing the chicken the next day but enjoyed the potato! My wife ordered her normal San Dabs which she did not enjoy this time. My friends ordered pork chops which were average, liver and onions which were mushy and a Walleye fish dish which was enjoyed! We all agreed that the overall experience was way below our experiences in the past and vowed not to go back! For the price we paid, it just was NOT a good value! SAD!
The prime rib and halibut lacked flavor. The lobster bisque was excellent as well as the mixed vegetables but the twice baked potato was very dry. Since was excellent from front to back.
Best service and delicious dinner celebrating our son In law’s MBA!!! Perfect night with family and dinner!!
Prime rib was disappointing. We sat next to a mobster.
We had another wonderful dinner at Red Tracton’s. As usual the service and food was top notch. I had my usual ribs, and our friends had the special which was Sand Dabs! They were huge and our friends said they were delicious!
Food and service always excellent. Best food in our area, good value also. Betty Morgan
Old school restaurant that ticks all the boxes. Friendly, prompt service, great atmosphere, great food. Why not step back into time if it's like this?
Very loud. Food was great. Service excellent. I would go back.
Went there for Sunday fried chicken dinner. Both my wife and I both said they must have changed the recipe. It was fried chicken but the batter and crispiness was not there. Disappointing.
Still love this old fashioned steak house and good drinks(good pour) plus great service. Wonder if we are alone in noticing the change in their once a week fried chicken?
We’ve been going to Tracton’s for over 5 years and have always had a terrific experience. We particularly enjoy Bobby Cruz at the piano. He always gets the crowd moving.
Noise was a little much- food was excellent- service was great especially on a busy Saturday night
Went there after a day at the track
Say in a tight corner facing the entry
Very average. The ribeye was tough
Great place wonderful drinks
But food just ok
Won’t go back as my first choice
Next visit to Del Mar
We love Red Tracton's and have been going there for over 20 years when we are in the area visiting. The food & service is always wonderful. It is loud though and if you want a nice dinner I suggest asking for a table in a room without a piano or bar.
Best lettuce wedge ever!
Good old fashion steak restaurant, but bar and accoustic in restaurant are too noisy to enjoy your meal and company. Parking attendant extremely rude and impatient.
Great atmosphere and food was great.
first bad meal I've had there. I had the daily special, spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were excellent but the sauce was blah and the spaghetti very dry.
Their food overall is always excellent but I tried the spaghetti and meatballs and was very disappointed. Also, eating in the bar area was a bad idea after the races. Very noisy and unable to carry a conversation. Others though were having a great time at the piano bar.
Nice and quiet. Great service and large portions of food. Attentive service but allowed to sit and stay. Didn’t feel rushed.
I had a great evening; however, my wallet fell out of my purse (unknowingly) and wasn't returned. We left the restaurant when closing and I was disappointed that it wasn't waiting for me the next morning when I went looking for it.
The food and service were exceptional though!
Had my birthday dinner here. The crab legs were soooo good and the filet was outstanding. Out server was outstanding as well!!
Busy night and service suffered. Waitress tried as hard as she could but kitchen was behind. Took forever for drink order and then equally as long for Salads.
Food is “ a lot’ but quality has suffered from what I remember as Tractons. Large does not make up mediocre tasing and quality at exceptionally high prices.
Will have to wait a whole before I give them another chance.
Great prime steak and so sharable. Always enjoy the food here.
Service was excellent, truffle fries to die for—and though pricey, you get A LOT for your money! It was very loud, but listening to the piano was oh so worth it ❤️
Everyone loved their dishes. Prime rib was excellent, fish was great too. Active place after the races - a lot of fun.
Excellent ribeye and filet; lobster bisque-thick sauce, weak lobster flavor; mac creamed spinach-too much gloppy sauce.
One of the best in North County a little “old school” but who cares, great steaks and nightly specials including Turkey Thursday and Fried Chicken Sundays.
Spent the day at the track and was successful there and carried it over to the restaurant with a spectacular dinner. First time here and we were not disappointed.
Food was so good!!!
Great food, as always. Lively, noisy, after-race crowd.
We love Red Tractons! The best service anywhere and food is spectacular. Our servicer was so nice.
