My husband and went to Red for date night and everything was perfect.
The best... always!
We came from Columbus two weeks in a row to enjoy such a wonderful meal we enjoyed everything Red has to offer!!!!
Service was slow. Reservations were at 8:00... Left at 10:15.
Three meals arrived, the fourth meal was over 12 minutes later (due to a grill problem). This meal was removed from bill without asking. The food was very good.
Excellent food and service. I couldn't ask for a better evening.
WOW!!! another fantastic meal at downtown Red, we drive from Erie, PA just for a dinner at Red twice now and this didn’t disappoint. I called a week before our reservation and talked to a very nice manager about me being immune compressed and about if a special seating arrangement could be made and she was able to help us out greatly! Our server Nicole was amazing, so nice and friendly and helpful, the best service, the cab prime fillet mignon is a must beat tasting, most tender piece of meat. I’m OBSESSED with their truffle mashed potatoes it really sets the restaurant apart from all other steakhouses best side dish! Also love their Brussel Sprouts! We have tried the Pinecrest location over the summer and I can definitely say the downtown location is a million times better!!! Love Red, we will keep coming from Erie PA just for a quick dinner because it’s THAT GOOD!! Only suggestioN PLEASE BRING BACK THE TATER TOTS those were extraordinary and definitely miss them on the menu!! Another 10/10 experience last night
Steak was way under cooked
Great appetizers, great steaks and sides. Extensive wine list at reasonable prices. The service was perfect. We had a great night.
We’ll be back soon.
Dan is amazing server!
Red is the best steakhouse in Cleveland! Each and every experience gets better!
We were upstairs so it was a different vibe (a lot quieter) which was good for our larger group.
We weren't able to take home left overs which was strange?
The steak was good though!
Truffle mashed potatoes 😍😍😍😍😍
We had a very nice anniversary dinner the weekend of the NFL draft. We started with the calamari that was perfectly prepared and a large portion - probably ideal for 4 people. I had the most delicious chicken breast with chimichurri, my husband had the ribeye, and we had the roasted potatoes to share. All fantastic. Our waiter surprised us with an anniversary dessert of 4 warm powdered donut holes with raspberry, caramel and chocolate dipping sauces. Amazing.
Chase and Morgan were awesome. Dean was great too! Great food and great time. Def will be back!
Quite possibly the worst “steakhouse” experience I’ve had. We were sat upstairs in what is reminiscent of a high school cafeteria and barely saw our server. Took 2 hours to get our food and multiple items came out cold, including the steak which our server rudely tried defending stating that’s how rare is supposed to be. I’ve had a couple rare steaks in my day and they always come out hot (at least the good ones!). Overall the steaks are good quality but slow and service sucks, especially if seated upstairs. For a $600+ tab, better to take your party elsewhere. Will not return.
We were put up into a strange upstairs room (without being informed prior). There were about 5 tables in a bare, terribly lit, conference room.
We love Red but this experience was not reflective of the Red we know. We understand with the current situation table need to be distanced and things in general are different but dim the lights, open the blinds so we can see our city, put a few plants in, create a vibe.
The food was very good, steaks delish, wasnt a fan of the upstairs dining room and waited for 18 minutes for our first drink order to be taken..we were celebration both a 30 year anniversary and a graduation from OSU and neither event was mentioned, our experience 2 years ago at Red was great and felt special, but this visit felt lack luster, just a VERY expensive dinner to not be wowed
Amazing food ! Amazing service!
My and my boyfriend went for his birthday we enjoyed the food and the staff everything was on time with the food the drinks I would definitely dine again
Wash , rinse , repeat.
RED is always great.
As I have said in previous reviews , Barb is always a joy to see and the best host at RED.
Never a disappointment.
Our waitress was excellent and the food was good but this is my third visit here and the sound level and ambiance is awful. You can’t even hear the people you’re dining with and each time I’ve visited the seating has been terrible.
I would not recommend. For the price it was definitely not worth it. Our service was terrible and the food was mediocre. I ordered my steak medium and it came out almost rare. They took it back and it came out still not medium. When I’m paying $50 for a steak I expect an outstanding steak and it was far from it. Do not waste your money!!
We took our nephew for his 19th birthday. His first real “fine dining” experience. Food was divine, service was great. Alyson was our waitress and did a fabulous job. A great time was had by all
Way too expensive for the experience.
A little slow to get our bottle of wine, but the food was excellent!
One of the best steaks I have ever had. The Prime C.A.B is well worth it. You can cut the steak with a butter knife! Other indulges include french onion dip for an app, shrimp and crab mac and cheese and cauliflower for a side. Will be back!
It was tremendous to get out in the world again. Red came through with flying colors. We had a full app round, several cocktails, a bottle of Caymus, entrees and sides galore. It was a festival.
We had a guys from Long Island and he enjoyed himself immensely. Thanks Red!
We had a great meal at Red. And although it is officially a "steakhouse," we both had meatless pasta dishes that were fabulous. I have felt confident recommending Red to a several people since dining there.
BEST steak I have ever had in my life!! Other food was great as well. They charged for some stupid things that should just be included, like $5 for broiled garlic on top of your steak.. if I’m paying $50+ for a steak, they should just throw in the tablespoon of garlic. Server was nice and friendly. Would go back for sure
Great place for a date night! Casual dress attire!
Our salads were excellent, our ribeye steaks were tasty, but tough, and our truffle whipped potatoes were good, but only lukewarm in temperature. Our server, Mark, was terrific...on top of everything! We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, but with many of the restaurant’s clientele wearing jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and baseball caps, it certainly didn’t feel like a special occasion type of restaurant, although the prices certainly did!
The Manager refused to honor a $50 gift certificate that we had purchased through Cleveland Independents and which doesn’t expire until January 23, 2024, saying they are no longer involved with that organization. When I checked with Cleveland Independents, they said that Red Downtown had signed an agreement saying they would accept all gift certificates issued when they were members. Red chose not to honor their obligation.
For many years, Red was our go-to place for a good steak and nice ambiance. The last time we had dinner there was for New Year’s Eve 2019, and unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience that night, and were reluctant to return. After this past year with the Pandemic, we wanted to give it another try. I’m glad we did, but we won’t be back!
Had 7pm reservations on a Saturday for my boyfriend's birthday. We were in an upstairs dining room, which was disappointing. Only 4 tables, social distancing. However, there was no ambiance. No art or decor or anything to look at, I felt like I was at a cheap banquet table and chair.
Waited about 20 min for a drink, appetizers followed quickly. Then 50 minutes later our steaks arrived. The food was delicious but service slow and impersonal. The waitress was kind and comped us a drink for our wait but it was not nearly nearly 5 star experience I expected from a steakhouse like Red. I appreciate the covid response but really think that service could've been better. And maybe a prix frix menu to lessen the blow of the bill. Should've gotten it to go.
Great service. Mark was very attentive but also gave us time to chat and enjoy the meal.
My date had the veal which was okay. I had the lobster with risotto, which was great!
All in all, not bad at all....a little expensive for the experience.
Took server about a half hour to come over and great us. Then took forever to get a bottle of wine. Other then that I’d say dinner was good.
Always great food, great service. Great before the Indians game.
Service and food was outstanding. Seated promptly wait staff extremely accommodating and total experience was great. Our family wIll be back
Very nice meal- filet was seasoned well and cooked to my desired temp.
Wedge was crisp and cold (would leave croutons off next time)
Sides were huge and very good- brussel sprouts, mashed potato
Not being seated in the main restaraunt was a major disapointment, especially when we were celebrating my wifes 60th and moms 82nd b-days. (reservation was made well in adavance wit no mention of this set up). We were seated upstairs in what I would call a baquet or meeting room that was stark white. It felt like we were seated at a wedding or sports award baquet versus one of the coolest reatauruants in town. It was my moms forst vist and she was pleased with the food and service as we all were, but for the rest of us we were looking forward to a great meal and sitting in the main dining room, such a cool space. we had a great meal and Chase provided great service, jus a bummer to be seated where we were.
We made the reservation late and that was part of the issue. We were seated in a private party room upstairs and it seemed strange with only 4 tables in it. The service was good and the food seemed to be okay. I’d definitely try it again, but make sure I was seated in the lower dining area.
