From the entrance to the establishment you’ll be in awe of the beautiful decor and layout. The food was absolutely amazing! Not many restaurants do well with flavor combinations and my palette was extremely pleased.

It's my favorite dining room in Asheville. However the food was not as good as my previous visits. Some things weren't hot when arriving at the table. My grouper was excellent but my companion said his elk was rather tough. I also think at those prices, there should be something on the plate with the meat and not force the purchase of a side which is more than one person needs to accompany the meat. I've had much better brussel sprouts at other restaurants in the area. I miss the fixed price option that allowed for more variety in food choices. I would still recommend it for special occasions.

We loved everything about the meal. We were celebrating a milestone birthday but are certain that the service would have been just as good if we just came in for a good meal. There were many gluten free options and we were told that the kitchen uses gluten free flour in its cooking so that opened up the menu to my husband, who was quite impressed. He ordered the duck breast and I ordered the elk loin. Both entrees were delicious! Our server, Alana, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. She is a keeper! Don't hesitate to visit if you're celebrating or want to enjoy a well prepared meal without the parking hassle and bustle of downtown AVL. You won't regret it.

This was our first visit back to the Red Stag Grill since Hurricane Helene. The restaurant has been completely restored and has the same ambiance as before. Thomas provided us with exceptional service and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the whole broiled trout and the grouper. We will be back!

We were sad to hear Hurricane Helene had destroyed one our favorite restaurants in the eastern US in 2024. Since they’ve reopened, it would appear, first hand they haven’t skipped a beat! The decór & hotel was remodeled as it was pre flood with slight change to the floor plan. It looked like there was never a flood that entered that building. Food/drinks were as rich and flavorful as it had always been. Service was above and beyond…Brandon our primary server was ever attentive but not intrusive as some servers can be. So glad RedStag is opened for business yet again!!!

It was wonderful to return to the red stag grill, which has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Asheville. Their post Helene reconstruction is charming, and just as unique and the heartbeat of this boutique hotel remains lively… I look forward to live music returning in the bar!

We are thrilled the Red Stagg is back as AVL residents. Service (we sat at the bar) is as excellent. Primarily because we had an issue with one of the meals we ordered and the bartender dealt with it quickly and professionally. Glad to have the place back in our dining rotation.
