Had a great tome,
Absolutely the worst most disrespectful service ever. The server was rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful.
He took forever to come by and take our orders. My co-worker needed to leave by a certain time to catch a flight, and politely asked the server if we could get our food and checks by 7 PM, and the servers response was "What am I supposed to do about it?". He was so rude and it ruined my dining experience.
The food was really good though.
Excellent!!! Everything was wonderful! The service, music, food, drinks, selection, price, it was all great! Not your “ordinary” tastes. We were a party of 7 and everyone agreed I picked a perfect restaurant for a delicious brunch!
Consistently great. Never a complaint .
We were seated at a table that was essentially located in a pathway for the waiters to access the kitchen and the patrons to access the bathrooms. The table looked like it was squeezed in. We communicated this to the manager and we’re not relocated even though there appeared to be available tables. As usual, the food was good. The atmosphere was loud due to the music and children. The ambiance and clientele of this restaurant have changed.
Red O never disappoints! Consistently great food, excellent staff. Always a good time.
My family and I love Red O. The food is always great and so is the service every time we go and we go to your restaurant a lot.
This was our first time at your restaurant. The drive from Oceanside was well worth it. The vegan tacos were absolutely incredible. You should list them on your menu. We loved everything about our experience ... in fact, we found ourselves a new favorite restaurant.
Awesome food! The funny thing was that a lot of the patrons from other tables used their cell phone flashlights to read the menu. Maybe turn on some more lights to help us out. Other than that, the food was great! Service was impeccable. The atmosphere was perfect for a group dinner. Will definitely come back!
Ordered fajitas, steak and shrimp. Got two shrimp and 1-2 ounce of meat. A lot of vegetables but really that was a joke for portions. Waiter was annoying. Out for a nice dinner and he was coming over ever two minutes can I take your order. No can’t you see we haven’t opened the menus. $115 for two drinks, chips and two entree. Would not come back for sure!
We were seated at 7:05 for a 6:30 reservation that we made six weeks prior. The hostess originally told us there would be a 10 minute delay. This is the second time they’ve done this to us. A year ago we waited an hour after reservation time. We were not offered anything to offset this. No apology from manager, nothing. Chips came after 20 minutes. Small, v small, bowl of guacamole was $11 + tax + gratuity. It’s a beautiful place but the lame service from both hostess and servers will keep us from returning. Fork was taken with appetizers but never replaced. Salad came undressed. They need to retrain all staff.
Been here so many times and always had a decent experience but this particular visit did not impress at all. Service was extremely slow and our server, while probably trying her best, seemed highly annoyed and not very attentive. Food was delivered tepid warm and was not carefully prepared. Left a little frustrated by the experience and this restaurant is not a value-chain restaurant and show offer the quality and experience to match is price structure.
An amazing all you can eat Sunday brunch. Worth every penny and you won't want to leave. Several bottomless cocktails to choose from as well. Great music too.
Experience was good, although when booking, we were not made aware that it was buffet only
We've been to RED O several times in the past but stopped when the food quality went down. We were reluctant to go back for brunch but since we have a gift certificate from Open Table, we decided to give it one more try. Boy, it caught us by surprises. Everything were tasty and fresh. Huge king crab legs that were ready to eat, big size prawns, fresh ceviche, different type of salads... and they're only appetizers. The entrees were as good. Paella, Roast beef, all breakfast items, hot soups. The dessert were made all in house: warm churros, creme brulee, fruit cocktails and all kind of donuts and pastries. We couldn't ask for more. On the way out, there's a table full of Mexican candies that you're free to make your selections. A cute bag was provided for the candies. Way to go, Red O. Best brunch in town!
Special family member birthday.
Food warm, not hot. One each of two burritos tried - way too dry to eat (left on plate). Salmon good. Other items just ok.
For others in group, I noticed food sampled but not eaten. No one raved about their meal!!! No one said we need to come back. I left saying I will not be returning. Sad.
We waited 20 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation for months. Place was overcrowded and super loud. We were screaming at each other just to have a conversation. The food was mediocre at best - nothing special really.
Five minute wait upon arriving 10 minutes early. Hostess was very accommodating. Entrance thru the bar is loud and busy. Once seated the noise is not so bad. The waiter and servers were very classy and offered welcoming sincere friendly chat. The food is shockingly good, not your typical Mexican cuisine. Defiantly the best food for the money I've had in a long time. We will be back many times in the future especially for special occasions.
The entire restaurant experience was exceptional. The food, service an ambiance was top notch. Highly recommend Red O Taste of Mexico!
This was a disappointment, we where expecting something totally different knowing who is Rick Bailess. This was like going to any other average Mexican restaurant in Orange county. The fact that going in to a "highly rated" place and find out that in the menu are tacos, burritos, and chiles rellenos, really?? was a truly unsatisfying experience. The service was exceptional our server was on top business thankfully. If we come back it will be for drinks but definitely not for the food.
Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. The setting live music was good. Our appetizer, drinks, and meal took a long time to come out. It was approximately 40 minutes from the time we placed our order to when we received our entrees.
One of my favorite restaurants just became a place not to visit on big days, like Valentines Day. Overbooking and putting tables close to each other with no privacy and trying booths into couple seating next to strangers is an obvious money grab and not thinking of ambience. 1st table choice was less than 2 ft from another couple, second seat was good but it’s next to where’s the load cars are parked (valet). So trying to hear your date talk while hearing load roaring engines (cool - just not for a romantic date night) while hearing loud music on top of that was off putting. We got no chips and salsa, the candle wasn’t lite for us, some tables were inconsistent in this too. The food was okay, shrimp was overcooked and the pasta was terrible, filet was excellent with the sauce (had the mix match dinner). There was only two waiters and not enough of them for this overbooked place. Our waters & drinks never got filled, and was never asked if I wanted a second glass of wine, the poor waiter looked so overwhelmed. They short staffed the night and it’s a poor management decision to do so. It effected our dinner, experience and the reputation of the restaurant. Also, they stopped serving this cocktail I used to always get, it was a disappointment. Big days are challenging for restaurants but if you overbook and jam tons of tables in the place expecting to get the same quality on a regular night, you’re delusional.
We had a great time. Awesome food and drinks. Live music. It was Valentine's day and the ladies received a single red rose from the servers.
Amazing service overall, dinner on Valentines I would expect it to be busy which it was however the attention our server gave us was excellent. We saw she was very busy but she still managed to check up on us & also be very attentive!! Food was excellent as well, can’t forget to add that!! Lol
Had bad luck and sat at a small table near kitchen...Busy Valentine's Day but we made the best of it and enjoyed the food.
The food was amazing..:service was the best we have had at any OC restaurant...and the atmosphere was perfect for our valentines dinner. This was out first time to Red O and we will be back.
Ken & Teri
Love coming to Red O. Super romantic! Although we did bring the kids. Good food, great service.. I think our waiters name was David. He gave us good suggestions for tequilas and they were delicious...good musics too!!
Birthday Celebration. Red-O is always amazing.
I had the shrimp scampi in the shrimp was way overcooked.
Local fun hangout
The food, the vibe, and the service are all #Gipsonapproved. I love this place!
Great food and atmosphere. Excellent service all around.
Slow, bad service. Food was not worth the $100+ Overall, very disappointing experience. Would not recommend.
The service, food and music was AMAZING!! Will definitely be back!
Early Valentine’s Day celebration.
Birthday !!!!! Was great
Our meal was fantastic. The food
Was creative. I had one of the keto bowls and it was one of the best cauliflower based meals I’ve had in a while
Portions rather small
