Excellent but too loud for a bigger group to talk.
I son and father dinner
We were there for Restaurant Week. Beautiful three course meal. Vincente was an outstanding waiter. Explained all the margaritas as was spot on about the one that was smooth Chillax
I recommend Red O for those who really like gourmet Mexican food but my god, that place is so loud. They play music so loud especially in the bar that you can't hear the person sitting next to you. I've been to Rick Bayless's other restaurants in Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed them. I don't think I will go back very soon but the food is good.
Must try! We really enjoyed ourselves and the service was great.
We took the restaurant week special and it was delicious.
We went with family for a quiet lunch.
Parking was perfect because not many patrons had side.
Started with hand washing which was fine for the guys but the ladies bathroom didn’t have easy to access soap, water and paper towels.
Had a salad before my main course of a torta. Salad was fresh but dry and boring. Our I eyes drink glasses were not refilled until we made several request. Probably will not return.
Great lunch. Very attentive. Received birthday dessert with candle (very nice touch).
One of my best place for Sunday brunch. Good food, drinks, Music and great service!
Sunday brunch was great. Large variety of food with American-Mexican flair. Omelette bar made omelettes to order. You could also get bottomless Mimosas. Service was better than expected for a brunch setting. Every-time you went for more the server set new cutlery when they took away the used plate. Table for six was in a great position with sunshine coming in the window. Perhaps a bit pricey but probably well worth it.
Amazing food and music , had my birthday dinner there and is was awesome, great restaurant
Let's start with the good---Beautiful bar/restaurant and very attentive service(didn't like that the server kept on referring to my husband as "Boss"- it's 2020 not 1950). The food was worse then bad. My husband took two bites of his relleno, me three of my burrito and-that was it. We didn't even take it to go for our son--One time, last time.
I couldn't order that I had for dinner 10 days earlier and it was a HUGE effort to even get something that resembled the dish.....
Its a long story but it took several conversations to address it and it shouldnt...
Great food, great service, great live music. Wonderful evening.
Red O is a beautiful restaurant with gourmet Southwestern cuisine and excellent service. Always a pleasure to dine there. Not inexpensive, but worth the price.
Food was great, good service, restaurant was packed (glad we had reservations) & loud. Also, restaurant was dark - first time in my life I couldn't read the menu & I have 20/20 vision.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Red O. The food was amazing...we had filet and shrimp scampi and red o burrito, my wife's favorite. The atmosphere was fun and it was taco Tuesday and lots of energy. Our waiter was very nice on top of our order. He found out it was our anniversary and brought us complimentary churros. This was our 2nd time to Red O and we will be back.

Great hosting and staff seems a bit over whelm by the success of the brunch buffet. The seafood was good, multiple selection for bottomless drinks are great.
Food and cocktails are amazing! We will most definitely be back.
Had a wonderful time celebrating our granddaughter’s birthday. Great food and service.
Very disappointing. Have been to Red O in San Diego and other Rick Bayless restaurants in Chicago and had a great experience. Ambience way too loud - definitely not “energetic”. We couldn’t even have a simple conversation and we were seated as far away from the bar as possible. We ended up texting to be able to communicate. Food was average at best - not close to the standard we would expect from Rick Bayless. We had made a reservation for brunch in advance for a few days later but cancelled given our disappointing experience.
Excellent food & service, music from car too loud into the dining room.
BASH, the waiter was exceptional! Thanks!
It was my birthday! Everything was terrific and the service was on point.
Had a great tome,
Absolutely the worst most disrespectful service ever. The server was rude, dismissive and completely unhelpful.
He took forever to come by and take our orders. My co-worker needed to leave by a certain time to catch a flight, and politely asked the server if we could get our food and checks by 7 PM, and the servers response was "What am I supposed to do about it?". He was so rude and it ruined my dining experience.
The food was really good though.
Excellent!!! Everything was wonderful! The service, music, food, drinks, selection, price, it was all great! Not your “ordinary” tastes. We were a party of 7 and everyone agreed I picked a perfect restaurant for a delicious brunch!
Consistently great. Never a complaint .
We were seated at a table that was essentially located in a pathway for the waiters to access the kitchen and the patrons to access the bathrooms. The table looked like it was squeezed in. We communicated this to the manager and we’re not relocated even though there appeared to be available tables. As usual, the food was good. The atmosphere was loud due to the music and children. The ambiance and clientele of this restaurant have changed.
Red O never disappoints! Consistently great food, excellent staff. Always a good time.
My family and I love Red O. The food is always great and so is the service every time we go and we go to your restaurant a lot.
This was our first time at your restaurant. The drive from Oceanside was well worth it. The vegan tacos were absolutely incredible. You should list them on your menu. We loved everything about our experience ... in fact, we found ourselves a new favorite restaurant.
Awesome food! The funny thing was that a lot of the patrons from other tables used their cell phone flashlights to read the menu. Maybe turn on some more lights to help us out. Other than that, the food was great! Service was impeccable. The atmosphere was perfect for a group dinner. Will definitely come back!
Ordered fajitas, steak and shrimp. Got two shrimp and 1-2 ounce of meat. A lot of vegetables but really that was a joke for portions. Waiter was annoying. Out for a nice dinner and he was coming over ever two minutes can I take your order. No can’t you see we haven’t opened the menus. $115 for two drinks, chips and two entree. Would not come back for sure!
We were seated at 7:05 for a 6:30 reservation that we made six weeks prior. The hostess originally told us there would be a 10 minute delay. This is the second time they’ve done this to us. A year ago we waited an hour after reservation time. We were not offered anything to offset this. No apology from manager, nothing. Chips came after 20 minutes. Small, v small, bowl of guacamole was $11 + tax + gratuity. It’s a beautiful place but the lame service from both hostess and servers will keep us from returning. Fork was taken with appetizers but never replaced. Salad came undressed. They need to retrain all staff.
Been here so many times and always had a decent experience but this particular visit did not impress at all. Service was extremely slow and our server, while probably trying her best, seemed highly annoyed and not very attentive. Food was delivered tepid warm and was not carefully prepared. Left a little frustrated by the experience and this restaurant is not a value-chain restaurant and show offer the quality and experience to match is price structure.
An amazing all you can eat Sunday brunch. Worth every penny and you won't want to leave. Several bottomless cocktails to choose from as well. Great music too.
Experience was good, although when booking, we were not made aware that it was buffet only
We've been to RED O several times in the past but stopped when the food quality went down. We were reluctant to go back for brunch but since we have a gift certificate from Open Table, we decided to give it one more try. Boy, it caught us by surprises. Everything were tasty and fresh. Huge king crab legs that were ready to eat, big size prawns, fresh ceviche, different type of salads... and they're only appetizers. The entrees were as good. Paella, Roast beef, all breakfast items, hot soups. The dessert were made all in house: warm churros, creme brulee, fruit cocktails and all kind of donuts and pastries. We couldn't ask for more. On the way out, there's a table full of Mexican candies that you're free to make your selections. A cute bag was provided for the candies. Way to go, Red O. Best brunch in town!
Special family member birthday.
Food warm, not hot. One each of two burritos tried - way too dry to eat (left on plate). Salmon good. Other items just ok.
For others in group, I noticed food sampled but not eaten. No one raved about their meal!!! No one said we need to come back. I left saying I will not be returning. Sad.
