Red Lobster - Overland Park
When we arrived, we were seated in a half booth that was practically in the service station bar area We noticed that there were multiple empty booths available that weren't right in the service workstation, and asked for one of those booths. She took us back to the front where the lead hostess very RUDELY told us we would have to go to the end of the line and wait at least 15 minutes to be re-seated. (Again, we had reservations, and there were multiple empty booths). The whole reason we made the reservation was that we were on a tight timeline to make a movie, so we took the half booth. The waitress even called that location "dinner with a show!" And it was. We heard all the nasty comments the servers made about their customers, and a lot of in-fighting amongst the servers. After my husbands chair was bumped several times due to the heavy foot traffic, )he was literally seated in their main path) he had to move over and sit on the same side as me.
The crab was not nearly as good as in the past and took 2-3 requests to have them bring us some crab crackers. Several crab legs were so small, there was no meat at all.
Overall, the experience was bad. We probably will not return as we've noticed a significant gradual decline in food and service at this particular location.
My wife and I have eaten at this same Red Lobster for several years and we both feel that the quality of the food is slipping. On a previous visit I ordered raw oysters on the half shell and they were luke warm. Yikes! This past meal, the servers were very good, but it was very noisy and the food was just okay. For about 30% more expensive we could get a very fine seafood dinner at The Bristol, which is where we will go next time.
The ability to get in line, using the Open Table app was invaluable!
Not sure if they were having an off night or what. They were out of Boulevard beer, could not make a sea breeze, no salad so they substituted with a second helping of mashed potatoes, they were out of tomato mozzarella caprese, and lobster bisque was gloppy and cold, a gravy consistency. Service was slow. Sitting 10 minutes before someone arrived to take our drink order. Overall a poor experience.
Food and service was poor... They don't understand severe allergies either...
