The Greedy Gordons Pub company welcome you to the Red Lion. Managed by Ashley Headland, he brings a strong team of consistency and knowledge.

Situated in the heart of Cranford near Kettering a village steeped in history & the pub being the mainstay since the 1700’s.

Head Chef Ben Drury brings loads of experience by bring people together with our love of great food and drink delivered with passion.

Priding ourselves on being ECO-local we have reduced our carbon footprint by using local produce, recycling & upcycling as much as possible as well as providing waste for Bio Fuel. #EcoLocalRedLion.

All welcome and catered for including dogs!

Absolutely amazing service and delicious big portioned food. We went out for our anniversary and they brought out a desert plate with “happy anniversary” a special touch to the evening.

This is an exceptional place. Food is perfect. Staff are incredible, so polite, we were not once called " guys " !.. Its like going back to when customers were valued. Food cooked properly and great service was the norm. Love it so much we have already booked again. And..its not expensive

First time at Red Lion, Cranford. Overall a very good experience, good friendly service, good food at competitive prices. Will visit again.

Very high quality in keeping with other pubs in the same group, differentiated offering and loads of care and thought has gone into the menu. Just a couple of tiny details stopped a higher score - we sat in the extension which was fairly noisy so if you want a romantic or cosy meal, ask to be seated in the main building. The mains were really good but seemed to be quite different sizes; hubby had the AA lamb and I had the lamb kofta. The lamb meal was a bit on the small side (more veg maybe?) And the kofta was a bit on the large side, and the chilli jam and tzatziki were all over the rice which overpowered the rice/negated the tzatziki, different pots for the sauces would have been perfect. Staff were amazing and food/atmosphere really high quality as always.

Hi Ellie thank you for the lovely review and the excellent constructive criticism which we will take board and i will discuss with the chefs as they are good valid points. Our achilles heel since we took over 7 years ago is the revered noise created by the conservatory and all that glass! I can now report in September the Red Lion will be undergoing a refurbishment and sound proofing and softening of the conservatory and a complete internal and external, including the toilets, new slick modern country pub! Exciting times ahead. See you soon thanks for taking the time to review as excellent constructive reviews can only make us better at what we do.

Have been before so decided to go back for Sunday dinner. Was unaware that it was a 2 or 3 set course for Sundays. The starters were nice, plenty of calamari & the pate according to the hubster was nice too, he enjoyed the chutney. Both of us ordered slow cooked crackling pork belly. Was hoping the crackling crackled, it didnt and the fat hadnt rendered so a lot had to be cut off. The portions are huge, and to be honest, too big. Unless you were starving, you wouldn't be able to finish and found other tables also left quite a bit of food too. Aesthetically it was stunning but our 2 course meal bottle of wine, bottle of water (wasn't given the option of tap water) & coffee & tea was £110.00, which we feel was more for the presentation than the actual food. A LOT OF MONEY for sunday lunch.

Just love a roast here. Exceptional quality with extras like cauliflower cheese included. Loved to take the shredded red cabbage home! Great service , nothing is too much trouble at all. Thanks for the lunch & the washing up x

The Red Lion is always great. It has a very varied menu from pub classic to grill and seafood specialties. The inside and garden spaces are comfortable and quiet and the staff are welcoming and efficient. Definitely one of our favorite gastro pubs, in an area with many to choose from.
