Real Seafood Company - Bay City
Was in town for work and this was one of the top three choices. In a nice area sat outside on the patio actually solo and it was quite nice. Food was great but not amazing little over priced but they could because of the other choices in the area. Had a small glass a wine as well that was cost effective. I had good service, it was a good volume and was seated right away! I could tell the group next to me was not happy with there service, but she was newer to her job. There was a lot of modern people, younger groups so that was cool to see out of the smaller town, in the end I recommend it and will go back!
Food quality for price was subpar. Had to wait an extraordinary long time for check.
My wife and I had a great dinner she got the scallops and I tried the jambalaya Both were excellent as was the wonderful service We will definitely be back in the near future
The ambience is amazing. It has a really elegant uptown New York feel inside. Outside the restaurant is riverside dining across from the park where wildlife can be viewed. Very nice setting.
Beautiful location. Food is excellent. Wait staff are efficient & friendly. I requested a specific table when I made the reservation & it was waiting for us when we arrived. The fresh catch Maine scallops blackened are a favorite of mine. I like to order the fried perch when I'm there at lunch time. Desserts are delicious & huge. My favorite is the chocolate peanut butter cake. Whenever I find out any of my friends are visiting the bay area I tell them to eat here!
Excellent all around. After another bad experience at Gratzi I almost cancelled. Glad I didn't. You would never know these guys have the same owners.
Made a 7:00 pm reservation for two, finally received a table at 7:45. (Why bother with a reservation) Ordered an appetizer, it wasn't what we ordered. Had to ask for silverware and napkins,,, one napkin short, had to ask again. Server took one from the table next to which had not been cleared or clean.
Main meal was room temperature and sub-par for quality. Wasn't a very happy experience for our 45th anniversary.
Phenomenal restaurant. Only complaint would be the appetizer (calamari) was over cooked and way over sauced. The dinner however was the best seafood I’ve ever had
Nice outdoor seating on the river front. Love Uptown Bay City. Great place to eat and visit
The clam chowder tasted like Campbells. My stuffed fish was lukewarm. Pricey and not good.
Server Annalee was exceptional!!
We had an excellent waiter, Steve. I love that we were able to eat out on the deck. It was very pleasant. I was not impressed with the food. I ordered the stuffed flounder, and being from the New Orleans area, and also having lived in Charleston, SC, I was very much looking forward to a delicious meal. I was disappointed, although it was good. I feel that I am a little unfair, as I had something that I was comparing it with, rather than just accepting it for what it was. The portions were small, the green beans were overcooked, and in my opinion, it was way overpriced for what I had. The garlic potatoes were very good and the bleu cheese slaw was nice. I have heard that Red Lobster's stuffed flounder is better, and I will check that out. I plan to come back to Real Seafood in the future, but I will order something else. The chicken sounded good. I had heard so many good things about it, and had been looking forward to coming for quite awhile. It fell short in my dining experience. Again, Steve was an excellent server.
I actually just referred a friend over two days after our visit because we had just a nice time. We didn't take advantage of the pirate ship outside but that was a fantastic opportunity after dinner.
I would highly recommend the seafood company to family and friends. I have been here 3 times and I love it! This was my husband and I anniversary, and we sat outside, watched the boats . We enjoy ourselves.
Excellent venue, excellent service( Donna, our server, was great), and excellent food.
We loved the food except for the asparagus. It was pretty bland.
Now the lobster fritters for an appetizer, and the brussel sprouts were to die for! Will definitely be ordering those again!
All four meals were bad. Oil everywhere, dead green beans, all four of our mashed potatoes were cold. Took forever to get the lousy food. Just a bad all around dining experience. Will never go back.
We enjoyed a beautiful summer evening on the Saginaw River with a spectacular view. The service was great and the food was fresh. The quality of the experience was superior to anything in the area.
everything we wanted to order had been 86ed by the kitchen. it was disappointing
Went there on my birthday so the value was actually pretty good with the 50% discount. I would not have felt the same if we had paid full-price. My miso chilean sea bass and spinach was very good. The jasmine rice was rather dry. My wife had the parmesan encrusted sole and it was bland and rather dry. The serving portions were adequate. The service was good and our server was excellent.
Love the patio area! Beautiful view and atmosphere. Our server was amazing!
Early dinner reservations and had to wait for clean B & B plates for those of us that wanted to use them for the bread, didn't have coleslaw made to serve all parities at our table and when it finally did come the dinner was already on the table. Chilled martini glasses sat on a tray while the waitress was taking another tables order and no other wait staff bothered to serve the martini's so the glasses became warm.
Rice Pilaf was gummy and lacked taste. Wait staff was un-attentive and seemed very distracted.
Quite Disappointing as the restaurant location and ambience is very nice.
Slow service, overpriced food, value is low, servers seemed overwhelmed and miserable the entire time
Very nice restaurant with great food! The service was impeccable. Our waiter was Josh. The only disappointment was that we couldn’t sit outside because of the weather, but who could predict that? We will be back!
Upon driving up to the restaurant the area was beautiful and peaceful. Walking into the restaurant we were welcomed with a warm and friendly greeting . The restaurant was full of people waiting but everyone was seated quickly. We had reservations with a request to sit outside with a view, they gave us a choice of 1st or 2nd floor patio. We actually had the 2nd floor patio to ourselves for most of our dinning experience. The view of the water and boat activity was very relaxing. Our waiter was a nice fun corky kind of guy. The food was amazing and fresh. They serve some of the best crab cakes I ever had. From my daughter's shrimp kids meal to the blue cheese cole slaw everything had so much flavor. I definitely recommend Real Seafood Company and I will be back.
Good seafood select....
The Sole was excellent
Would definitely visit again
Menu was interesting, wait staff was helpful and friendly, and the wince selection was excellent. The beer selection could use some help, there was not as much selection as I am used to on the western side of the state, but it was adequate.
Nicole our server saved our dining experience. The hostess was very rude and condescending to us and several other potential diners while waiting for tables. Place was packed but that’s no excuse.
It was great. Loved the private room.
Excellent location and menu; Friendly, prompt service; very good seasonal selection
Husband’s Birthday dinner. We go every year for my birthday and his birthday since you get half off your food bill if you go on the day of your birthday (for two people). The food is always wonderful and they always have such good craft beer on draft or bottles/cans! One of my favorite restaurants.
Lobster was tough and bland. Would never order it there again.
Always a pleasure to come for lunch or dinner. Staff are friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgable. Never had a bad meal. Great place to relax and enjoy the activity on the river.
Nice we could get reservations so quickly - we appreciate it. Love your restaurant!!
I have had much better meals here in the past. I think perhaps they were not well prepared in the kitchen to handle the crowds from the Tall Ship Festival.
Waitress was excellent, but the food was painfully slow in coming.
We had reservations and were seated fairly quickly. The kitchen was very backed up. We waited over an hour for our food. The rolls weren't ready and waited a half hour for those. It was a bit frustrating.
Our service was great by Jamie, Our meal took way to long as the mgr told us our order got lost in the kitchen...
The food was Fabulous, our waitress was wonderful. The atmosphere was great, a little noisey by the kitchen but I enjoyed watching the hustle and bustle of the kitchen. My Husband and I still thoughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back and recommend Real Seafood Co to our friends and family.
We are from the metro Detroit area and came to take our nephew out to dinner. It our first time and it was amazing! Everything came out hot and was delicious! Can’t wait to go again!
We have really enjoyed Real Seafood in Bay City until three nights ago. The snail’s pace of the dinner made us decide not to return to this restaurant. And the prices are exorbitant. We ordered three appetizers for a table of five. It took a really looooong time for the appetizers to come. Then we had to flag down our waiter to select out entrees. The entrees took 50 minutes to arrive. Our server said that the kitchen was ‘backed up,” hard to believe since the restaurant was half empty.
We enjoyed the food except for the prices. My husband’s salad with half an avocado and a few teaspoons of crab was $18! And the cocktails were very skimpy. We are sad that one of our once favorite restaurants was so disappointing.
