Travis and Ryan Croxton debut their spinoff from the highly acclaimed Rappahannock Oyster Bar at Union Market in Washington, DC. They’ve even brought their DC Chef, Kevin Kelly, to man the kitchen at this outpost. This location in the historic Cigar Factory Building on East Bay Street, allows room for Chef Kelly to showcase more of his cuisine to a larger audience, including an incredibly unique 40 seat raw bar. Oysters grown by the Croxton’s own Rappahannock Oyster Company are accentuated, but Kelly’s signature dishes like lambs’n’clams, crabcakes, shrimp & grits and the best po’ boy you’ll ever eat are enough reasons in their own right for constant visits. Coupled with a great cocktail program and focus on local ingredients, ROB is a great place for any occasion.

I seldom order crab cakes outside of Maryland, but these were spot on. Perhaps the most delish collard greens ever. Highly satisfying! Reasonable value. Would return here a lot based on food quality.                                                                                                                                     Food was delicious! Crab cake was fully crab, little filler, if sny. Soft shell crab was scrumptious. Waiter Joseph was excellent!

                                                                                                                                    The waiter was attentive, the seafood was fresh and well prepared. This was soft shell crab and oyster season and Rappahannock did not disappoint!

                                                                                                                                    It is our go to place, adjacent parking, consistently good food and wine, and clams and oysters fresh and available. Our server,Jay, was marvelous as well. We’ve been a dozen times and will surely return.
