The service was outstanding and the food was absolutely fabulous! We look forward to going back to this restaurant on a regular basis.
Went her for Valentine’s Day dinner so maybe not the best day to go out due to the crowds. Nothing special or tasty about the place. Very crowded and cramped quarters for dinner. Service was slow to the fact that we thought they had forgotten us at one point. I don’t have high hopes for Valentine’s Day in general but felt this place was really a disappointment. Have lived int the area for years but had never been here and really don’t think I will be going back. So many better choices in the area!
Service slow, loud too the point you have to almost scream to speak with someone and I didn’t care for the food. I would never go back.
OMG. We have been talking about going to this place. We finally did. What great food. The lettuce cups with chicken and shrimp. We to die for ad was the Mango chicken. We will be back.
We always enjoy coming to Rangoon Ruby. The samosa salad has always been fabolous - this time it was disappointing. Maybe one of the ingredients was missing. ..The Basil chilie swai ( fish) was good , but not as good as usual. The vegetarian dish was very good. The Resturant was busy and they appeared to be short staffed. The service was slow but efficient and friendly.
Food & service were good The dishes were delicious Restaurant had good vibes this night
compare to Palo Alto branch their food wasnot as favorable as the other one
The service was not anywhere near as good as at it was at the Rangoon Ruby in Belmont the last time we visited. We had four dishes ALL of which were well prepared, presented and tasty. Especially enjoyed the Cajun style catfish.
Service has been slow lately. Food is always good but maybe they are short staffed?
Always great food, service, ambiance! Great place to bring guest and visitors from out of town.
There are several Burmese restaurants in the mid-Peninsula area. Simply stated, the San Carlos Rangoon Ruby is great. Food was very tasty and server Karen was top-notch. Definitely a "go-back".
Service could of been more attentive, I had to ask the server to pour us more wine and to bring my children more beverages. When we were leaving there was no one to wish us a good night, it appeared that all of the staff were on a break together.
Everything we've tried has been tasty and consistently good.
Food poorly prepared and presented, heavy oil slick on two dishes. Something crunchy (like dirt/sand) in shrimp lettuce wrap.
Service was robotic like the waiter wanted to be somewhere else. Nobody asked why we didn't eat our food. They could care less! We walked out the door vowing not to return.
Screwed at Rangoon Ruby. Wow.
Great food. Great service. We love it! Will be back.
Delicious, as always! Don't miss the tea leaf salad . . .
Amazing food! Such a diverse palate sensation. I love the Tea salad and the Fried Calamari is the best ever!
The Walnut Prawns to die for and the Coconut Rice amazing. The Jalapeno and Mint Chicken was good too!
I can't wait to go back!
Great food. Noisy. Try to sit outside. Took FOREVER to get served.
Enjoyed the tea salad, rice noodles and lemongrass pork. Dinner is served family style - so be prepared to share!
We dine here frequently, both for lunch and dinner. Food is consistently fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. If you ask for spicy, be prepared to call out the fire dept to quench the fire!
Excellent flavors and presentation of food. Very attractive dining room with nice linens. A little on the noisy side and service was slow. We went at 1 pm for lunch and it was quieter then. Will return.
Great authentic Burmese food, do not go a lifetime without their fermented tea salad, their version of samosas and pad thai. Many great options - both paleo, vegetarian and vegan. Very fresh. Great service. One downside - parking (San Carlos) is an issue. Allow ample time to find parking.
To be honest I have experienced better Burmese cuisine. So I would give them 3 stars. However, their service has been consistently good and attentive that they deserve the 4th star. Also I love the Burmese print art on their walls. The restaurant has great light and feels welcoming. They also have many options on their menu for vegetarians and meat lovers. They just need to improve the quality of their food and then they would be a solid 4-star restaurant.
I have never been disappointed at these restaurants 😀
Very enjoyable experience for our out of town guests.
Food and service were excellent!
This was one of the top 3 meals of my life; I am in San Carlos a few times a year for work and will definitely be back every time I'm in town!! It was also great that they have gluten-free options available which made it easy for me.
We love coming to Rangoon Ruby in San Carlos. The food is always excellent. This time however, the samosa salad was not quite as good as it normally is. The basil chilie swai and the Ruby shrimp were excellent. We have recommended this Resturant to many friends.
Very noisy hard to hear - also warm but I love the food and the service is great
Everything from the appetizers to the main course was delicious! Definitely coming back here!
Excellent food and something for everyone. Make sure you don’t skip the appetizers!
All I can say I would recommend the experience to anybody and it's worth even for the try.
I bet you.
Food and service were very good. Only downer was the AC does not work all that well. It was an unusually hot day and the place was pretty stuffy...
Great food as always, will be trying new dishes next time, but the Tea Leaf Salad is a must every time!
Used to be a "Neighborhood Gem"...not now. Have dined here twice before, greatly enjoyed it, and left excellent reviews. This dining experience was a Sunday night . Do not know what has changed (management or chef or both), but food was mediocre, and not worth a return visit. Will search elsewhere for our future Burmese food.
Wonderful flavors that I can't usually recreate in my own kitchen. Great service. The tea leaf salad can't be beat!
Loved the Kabat chicken and Ginger salad. It was a quiet holiday weekend lunch, so noise level was lower than normal.
We have returned to this restaurant several times. Our friends that joined us have special dietary issues and the restaurant was more than accommodating in meeting her needs. Victor our server was over the top in making sure we were well taken care of and made suggestions of things we hadn't tried in the past.
This was seriously some of the best food I've ever had!! My family and I woke up the next morning talking about the tea leaf salad!! Amazing!!
We celebrated an early Mother’s Day
Carlis was Fantastic, funny and helpful!
We love Rangoon Ruby. The food is unique and everything we have tried is delicious. Try the tea leaf salad, the Rangoon Lemongrass Pork, and the coconut rice.
