Slow getting served but the food was up to its usual good standard
Food good but not great. On expensive side. Nice ambiance. Great service. Could have used more help from wait staff in entree selection.
Why would every dish be spicy, even those that aren't supposed to be? Does this restaurant think that young and hip customers demand it? The menu should say when a dish is spicy, and it wouldn't hurt to ask customers what spice level they want. Then we will all get what we came for.
Food was wonderful but the service was minimal at best. We were celebrating a birthday and felt as if we were an after thought.
Food served out of order with items brought we did not order so waited for what we actually did order. When the waitperson did not write anything down should have been a clue. Cocktails ordered and not received until midway through and we were already eating. Assumed we weren’t getting them as we had begun eating. No one stopped by for us to even ask about the cocktails.
I could go on as this happened at each phase of the evening. Very disappointed. Only saving grace was the food.
Mediocre food and service. Other than tea leaf salad, entree and sides were bland and uninspired. Service was slow and generally inattentive
Love it! The tea leaf salad is excellent and my kids love the green beans and garlic noodles!
We very much enjoyed the food and the variety of flavors. We have eaten here many times. Service was good and price was very reasonable.
The flavors were so varied and rich. Both the tea-leave salad and the mango salad awakened the taste buds. The salmon pumpkin stew and the shrimp kebat kicked the meal up to a new level. Leftovers the next night were even better!!!!!
Food was great. Service was okay
This was a first time visit for two couples in our group. The tea left salad, fried tofu & excellent cocktails did not disappoint - every one loved it. Thank you for marking this a memorable experience! The service was first rate as well.
Food was good, wait staff great and attentive. Not the most creative Burmese menu I have experienced. But it is solid, traditional US interpretation of traditional burmese food.
Service was on point! Glad we beat the lunch crowd.
Overpriced and dishes are too sweet for my taste. Service was mediocre at best. Waitress never came to serve water and seemed to rush us out.
We never got our lunch meal. Waited 2 hours. No apology from server or management, before we had to depart.
I have never experienced anything like this in my life. Will never come back.
We've been at this restaurant several times and usually sit at the bar, however this time we sat at a table for two.
There were two big issues for us this time: very poor service and the table arrangements which are poor (too many tables in too small a space). The tables at this restaurants are cramped together, and the table we were at was in the middle of a walk space that waiters and patrons needed to pass right behind us giving us no personal space.
We have been going to Rangoon Ruby ever since they opened. The experience in the last couple of years has continued to deteriorate. Last two times (within one month) we encountered an extremely rude hostess, elbow to elbow seating so close that the waiter has to reach over to serve. Overall it is a pathetic experience and there are better options right around the corner.
Food is great but they can space the tables apart a bit more. Cannot have a conversation.
The seating is pretty tight, but the food makes up for the "coziness".
Our new favorite. Unusual flavors that are truly delicious. Glenda, the manager is terrific.
Food was great as usual - we come here at least once a month. Waitress was terrible today. We waited a long time for our order to be taken, a long time for the food which was delivered cold, and had a hair in our food. She also forgot to bag our leftovers. We hope for the usual better service next time.
Food was excellent! Service was fast but not necessarily courteous. Our waiter was distracted and was abrupt to the point of being rude.
Can't recommend Rangoon Ruby. We came for the food but it's exactly why we wouldn't go back. Our waiter was superb in friendliness and attentiveness but the food? Every dish looked the same but with a different name. Supposed 'lettuce cups' were strips of romaine lettuce. Clean, simple dishes they were not. We were greatly disappointed and we could neither go back to or recommend this restaurant.
Love the menu and can't wait to return to try more!
For some time we were very enthusiastic about the quality of food and ambiance in this restaurant and were very willing converts to Burmese cuisine. However our last couple of visits there were disappointing. WE thought the quality of the food has diminished and the "burmese" aspect has become common. In addition the tables were closer and more crowded interfering with the privacy of enjoying a conversation. In short this restraint has gone downhill which is very disappointing.
Great all the way around.
Great food and very excellent service. Restaurant was crowded but conversation was no problem.
Celebrated our Anniversary and were treated to a strawberry dessert with dazzling candle !! Very nice !!
Fresh, delicious, creative, original delicious.
Convenient location for dinner before seeing a show at the Aquarius theater. Their tae leaf salad was good along with the Burmese Pad Thai and the coconut rice. Nice settings and good service, I would go back.
Excellent food and fast service. However the "OpenTable" reservation did not hold, yet we got the room because that was not so busy day. All great & Just too noisy!
My friends and I loved Rangoon Ruby. They did a great job of seating us right away, as we had a reservation. The restaurant was packed but service was fast. Only downside was that the waiter was trying to take our order as fast as possible and his responses were so short that they came off as a little rude. Other than that we appreciated the vegetarian options especially the pumpkin tofu. How unique!
Food was expensive for the amount. The taste has deteriorated over the years. I used to love the tea leaf salad but it's become unfortunate now.
Too noisy to enjoy conversation. Food good but not really any better than PF Changs.
I am generally pretty easy on restaurants and servers, but when:
1. My server gives us a pre-opened bottled water (pretending to open it at the table) that had been filled up at a sink and charging us full price
2. Being ignored for 10-20 minutes at a time
3. Finding dirt and aphids on the lettuce for our lettuce wraps
4. Repeatedly asking for an item and never getting it
5. Having my order be incorrect and never getting a chance to get what I wanted (because I had been ignored for so long)
I don't go back, sorry.
Delicious healthy authentic Burmese food in lovely restaurant.
I have never been more disappointed by this style cuisine. Each dish was without any distinctive flavors. We all kept searching for something that had at least traditional Thai spicing. How can you miss, even with Pad Thai? I also asked for a new napkin twice and after 10 minutes grabbed one from an empty table. Very surprising experience. I brought our friends there, and thought this had to be a great restaurant given its location and what looked like a full house. I only wish Evvia across the street had an opening so we could have had a better experience. Hate to write a review like this. In fact, I have never done it before. Maybe the chief chef was sick and the substitute was lacking skills. A puzzle.
This was our first time at Rangoon Ruby and it will not be our last. The food was amazing and Konstantin was a fantastic server. My only complaint would be that the tables are too close together...they are trying to squeeze too many people in, esp. near the front window
But, we loved the food and can't wait to go back and try more of the options on the menu.
Fabulous food, you must try the Tea Leaf Salad!!!
Excellent food. Very tasty. Every dish eas delicious. Good service.
