4 of us went and frankly the reason we did is because it was one of the few spots we could get in at a decent time. Overall, very good, great service, but I doubt we would go back. It wasn't anything super special, although the Halibut was really good.
Keep up the great food and great service
Great food and service!
Second time here and we’ll be back. Great restaurant, EXCELLENT service. Please don’t close.
We had the boar bacon and artichoke dip, very good--not much boar bacon considering the name. Prince Edward mussels, also very good. We did the market meat, which was venison, it was fine but felt it could have been better--the beans were not cooked well in my opinion. It was the only downside. We had several drinks off the tap, nice beer. We'd still go back.
The interior of this restaurant is darling! Their beer selection was on point… Bike Dog is always a great choice! Their specials were a great variety we even ordered two… Our food was amazing! Our server was on point also.
We love the food at Range. The owner is great. But, the staff is just… not bright. They walk around and don’t acknowledge people waiting to check in. They just don’t seem to have much experience in service — They need leadership. Occasionally we get a good server but 90% of the time the entire waitstaff seem clueless. Once you get to a server, it’s usually a little better but the host/hostesses are terrible. It’s really too bad because we do love range and love the food. We actually get takeout from here more than dine in - because of the service. But that also limits what we can order because not everything travels well.
Excellent service… outstanding food .
Kevin is very welcoming and his staff especially Amber and Jessica are fabulous.
The beet salad is one of the best I’ve ever had ad their mussels are excellent… all the food is excellent without exception.
The only thing I could ask to be better is the corkage fee.. $ 20 is too high.
We will continue to be regular guests.
Heirloom tomato salad was tasty. Venison also was full of flavor. Beer selection was good and at a good temperature. Room is loud but has energy. Service was attentive and timing was good.
Great service including the gal who seated us. Made us feel welcome and appreciated. Decor and ambiance were ok but chairs are uncomfortable. Nice menu and wine and beer selection. I had the sea bass special with asparagus and rice. The bass was nicely cooked and the sauce was good but there wasn’t much of it. Rice was tasteless, asparagus very good. My husband had the meatloaf it was terrible! Very mushy, little taste and burnt around the edges. Caesar salad was nice and the artichoke app was good.
Interesting menu but mediocre execution. Fried chicken leg/thigh was tasty, but fried beast was dry. First fish plate with cold rice. Sent back for a warm second plate. Fresh fish was very tasty but overwhelmed with pepper. Server was very helpful in getting the second plate. Manager said the right things but with off-putting attitude. Would not recommend this restaurant when there are many other local options.
Great menu choices
Attentive wait staff
Seating felt spacious
Impressive beer & wine selections
It was great. A busy Saturday evening…
Sat on time but was 20 minutes before we saw a waiter. Just about to walk out. But from then on he tried to make up for it. To be fair they were very busy.
We've eaten here many times. IMO, they struggled in the beginning with both food quality and service. The staff was always friendly but seemed to be distracted.
The service during our recent visit was outstanding. In fact, it was so good that we called the manager to tell her that she's doing an outstanding job.
The food is good, but could still use some improvements. They offer no BBQ sauce. This seems basic, but to someone like me who eats it on everything and feels that burgers aren't complete without it, it's VERY important. Buy some BBQ sauce and put it in the fridge. It's a REALLY REALLY basic item that a lot of people ask for. To not have it is to upset people who desire it. Why do you want to upset your customers when you can make them happy for $5? Rediculous.
The burger is quite good. It has too much "stuff" IMO, but the bun and meat quality are outstanding. It includes some crisp, cool ingredients with the burger that really set it off. I would prefer to remove the thousand island and add BBQ, but we've hammered that nail already.
Some of the menu is just off. The meatloaf flavor is flat. The Elk is good but the mashed potatoes are lacking flavor.
The salads are always fresh and delicious but never change seasonally.
The menu could use a fresher.
While we like this place, it's apparent they're still having trouble with the menu as they're 1/3 empty on a Saturday night while everyone else is packed.
We really hope that the menu has some improvements so that we can make this place a regular for us. At the moment we only visit when we can't get in anywhere else.
Love this place ! Great food and service . Happy staff ….
I took my Mother out to dinner at The Range since she had never been there before. We both really enjoyed the fried chicken and service.
Such a great local spot! Food is amazing. We started with the meatballs and brussel sprout appetizer for the table. We had the beet salad, the Range Pizza and Rissotto with Scallops and EVERYONE really loved it. Only wish is that they had their liquor license and it wasn't just beer and wine:( Will be back!!
It’s always pretty good. Loud but good.
This was our second visit to Range. The first time there everything was awesome so we took some friends on our second visit. We were very disappointed. The service was incredibly slow.
The food and service was great. Special sea bass was cooked perfectly. Portions are perfect for me, but a hungrier person may need to start with an appetizer and/or add a salad. Wine selection is good, and I would love to see them add a full bar.
We sat at the bar and it was a fantastic experience ! The food was fantastic and the waitstaff were fun and friendly! Love this place!
The gravy on the meatloaf is outstanding. The service is really good.
3 of us had Elk with creamy parsnips and bella mushrooms-oh so good. my wife had scallops with mushroom risotto which was also excellent. We plan on going back a number of times.
We always have great meals at The Range Kitchen and Tap. Amber either takes care of us or makes sure we are well taken care of. The last two times we have had delicious fish, great appetizers and of course wine.
You want be sorry going to The Range- great food along with great service!
I think the cooking staff forgot the basics of salt and seasoning in general. Cook on the steak was rare even though medium rare was requested. The heirloom carrots while pretty on the plate were gravely undercooked. Indoors, music was so loud talking was difficult even in a mostly empty location. Overall not worth the hype.
Incredible plates from the appetizers all the way through the main course and dessert. Excellent service staff and very quaint ambience. Will absolutely dine here again
Great dining experience and service was tops!!
Always a great experience!
This was our first time at this restaurant. We liked the atmosphere. We started with the deviled eggs, and they were unremarkable. We will try another appetizer next time. I ordered the scallops with mushroom risotto. This dish was fabulous. The risotto was cooked perfectly, and the four scallops were moist and tender. The meal was delicious! My husband had the meatloaf and that was wonderful too. A great place that we will be visiting again and again!
Everything on menu is well prepared, skillfully seasoned, and very tasty. Beet salad, mussels, game of the week, and meatloaf are all favorites.
Outstanding service and dinner was delicious!
We went for date night. The meatball appetizer was delicious. My husband liked the Caeser salad, I thought it was overdressed and bland. We shared the fried chicken for our entree and we were disappointed. The sides of mashed potatoes and greens were delicious, but the chicken was overcooked and dry. We will stick with meatloaf next time-we had that on a previous visit and it was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive!
Outstanding from start to finish. Highly recommend
Always a pleasure to see Kevin and his attentive and fabulous staff!
Some best food around 😍
Yummy! Such a gem in Roseville. Small ish menu but everything was amazing. Appetizers we had were the boar bacon artichoke dip and bison sliders. Both were so delicious and would definitely get again. For dinner we had the pork and game of the week which was venison medallions. The pork dish was good but a little forgettable. The venison was to die for. So many yummy things on their menu. Cannot wait to go again!
I have worked as a supervisor and manager in various service industries for over 7 years, including restaurants, coffee shops, and wineries. At first, it seemed like the service was going to be great. I arrived about 10 minutes earlier than my friend and was seated and attended to. I chose not to order before my friend arrived, but after she did, our server did not come out to greet her or check in on us. It did not look busy inside of the restaurant (we chose outdoor seating). After we finally got a drink order in (he quickly disappeared before we could order food), my friend had to keep looking at him through the window so that he would come take a food order - almost an hour after we were both seated. The boar bacon macaroni was very delicious. Unfortunately, the cheese board was laughable - $18 for a weird assortment of items. 5 pieces of cheese, 3 pieces of meat, random jalapeños and bits of mustard squirted around everywhere... What in the world? We each had a glass of wine and 2 appetizers come out to $60 with a low 10% tip. Yes, we still tipped. I wish I hadn't, but coming from the industry I feel compelled to. We were polite guests and received poor service and subpar food. I was excited to try this place, seeing all of the great reviews, but was extremely let down.
Food was fantastic. Server was great.
