The place’s exterior is very nice, pretty upscale for Allston. On a Wednesday night it was almost empty with only a few tables and people in the bar. To my taste, the lights were too bright, hence I think the ambiance is 3 out of 5. Since it was pretty late, we only ordered 2 apps. We enjoyed the bread rolls served before the meal, they were delicious. We absolutely didn’t like the calamari - it was a small portion, good third of it was fried peppers, sitting on a lake of mayonnaise and ketchup combined. So the bottom layer was all soggy with this mixture. The mussels though were delicious - good sauce with nice large 2 pieces of toast. The waitress was obviously pretty bored so she was coming up to us pretty frequently, with no need, but that’s ok. Overall it was an ok experience - I believe the summer patio scene is much better! But the food on the menu is not that attractive, drinks looked good though.
Great place with great food and service. Good spirits’ selection, as well as wine. Will definitely come back soon
I had the filet (as I usually do) and it was fabulous. My partner had the Halibut Special (not on the regular menu) and he loved it. We both left very satisfied.
This is a new restaurant located in Boston Landing. Overall, the food was quite good and have no complaints on the taste or quality.
The restaurants doesn't have the best acoustics (it was pretty loud even though it wasn't that busy) and the menu is pretty limited with the options available being quite expensive for the Brighton area.
Very spacious restaurant and setting. Not cramped at all, which was very nice. Felt like you could have a conversation and not have the table next to you be a part of it. Food was pretty good. Service at the table was decent. Had a drink at the bar before we sat down and the bartenders were awesome. Really personable and made some excellent drink recommendations.
food was great as always and the service
Our meat was not cooked and, it was sent back 3 times. However, we had great waitress!
Very nice looking restaurant. Spacious with seating spread out so not a crowded feeling. Noise level low which allows for conversation. Food is very good but the portions are on the small side for the price. Service was very good. Never felt pressured.
Interesting place. We really wanted to give this place a much higher rating but felt that it just isn't there yet. First, it is a wonderful atmosphere and the service was outstanding. We both ordered the steak frites and that dish turned out to be very good indeed. Overall then, a good experience. Here are the problems: the bread they bring at the beginning of the meal has absolutely no taste whatsoever. Astounding that they haven't figured that out yet. They then took an easy recipe (Caesar salad) and botched that as well with a very bad dressing. While the prices may be ever so slightly (a buck or two) higher than expected, I would certainly and gladly pay it for the service and atmosphere. We will try the place again, so I do hope that they change their home made bread to something good, and put a traditional caesar salad on the menu. Drink/wine list is fine.
We both had steak frites, it was very tasty. They took care of one lactose free dinner. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Not too loud, we were able to have a conversation. Food choices were great, we also had mussels which were very good. An enjoyable dinner out.
This was our first time at the Railstop. We started at the bar, the drinks were good. We had bar apps, the Poutine was fantastic. We moved to a table for dinner, we had Scallops that were OK, White Clam Bucatini that was great, and two had the Lobster Mac and Cheese that was also very good. It was a little pricey for what we got.
Service overall was fairly poor. Food was good but menu is overpriced for the quality.
A great place to meet friends for casual dining. Was there for lunch. Nice ambience. Quiet - we could actually have a conversation. The food was good and plentiful.
Second time here in one week. Love this place! The atmosphere is awesome, great interior design, delicious cocktails and awesome bartenders and waitstaff. The Rail Stop burger is my absolute favorite... possibly my favorite burger of all-time. The Mai Thai is 100% instagram worthy... as our fantastic bartender said it would be haha. Will be coming back often!
The food was excellent! A bit pricey but you get what you pay for here.
Great restaurant and the staff was amazing. Every person we interacted with was great.
Casual, nice setting. Good cocktails--food is tasty. Skillet cookie for dessert is delicious! Service was terrific!
Drinks were good, service was good. Would have liked to have more vegetarian options.
Expensive but really nice. Went to Warrior arenaa for a hockey game. Had dinner at the Railstop before. Right next door.
The sirloin was a disappointment. The mussels and short rib were very good.
Service, food was excellent. I made a special trip after seeing it on Phantom Gourmet and it was well worth it.
Great new spot in a neighborhood that is growing daily. Expensive space, with a friendly staff and nice ambience. Great food and drinks!
Delicious burger!! Interior was so cool! The bagender made me a delicious mocktail!
Very good experience. Met two friends there for lunch. Service was prompt , attentive and friendly. Food was good as well. We were ‘t rushed or made to feel that we should be moving on. Pricing was about standard for a nice restaurant. Would recommend.
Went to Rail Stop for Valentine's Dat giving it the benefit of the doubt regardless of the bad reviews on Yelp. Ordered burgers and the inside was so pink we didn't touch them. Everyone around us was complaining and sending food back. I honestly don't know how they are not shut down. Don't go.
Excellent food, attentive service. overall, a very good experience. Main courses are relatively pricey.
My husband and I have visited this restaurant twice and had a great experience both times! Food was delicious and service was impeccable! The restaurant has a beautiful bar, complete with TVs, but the noise level was such that we were able to carry on a conversation in the restaurant area. Will definitely be back!
Very nice dinner. Great atmosphere, quiet enough to enjoy conversation. We will definitely return.
Had to send steak back twice. Service was good but this place needs to get a chef who knows how to cook a steak. Also, drinks were expensive for Allston area.
Nice restaurant. We’ll be back. Love the cocktails and mussels. Sandra, our server, was great.
Service staff needs more training, but the food was excellent They still need to work through some new restaurant issues with the staff
Enjoyed our evening! Great service, great food, great atmosphere.
Quality food nice atmosphere easy parking will be back again.
Seated at a quiet table for a business lunch, server was pleasant but not overbearing, everyone remarked that the meal was very good
Bad service, good ambience and food. Would not recommend.
There were four of in our party, we ordered 3 salads and one clam chowder as a starter and four entrees, 2 short ribs, One grilled Salmon and a Lobster Mac and cheese for our entree's. We receiving our drinks in a timely manner and placed our order. Our Waitress while very pleasant was ok at best. She did not return to our table to check on us when we received our food, either after the appetizer or when we received our entree. I did not receive my salad, nor did I have the opportunity to ask about it as no server or staff were around to ask! By the time the starter plates were being cleared there was no point in asking for my salad as I no longer wanted it! Our entrees arrived...2 short ribs, 1 Lobster Mac and cheese and a SALAD with dry piece of salmon on the side!!! Again, No one around to say anything too! I finally nabbed a server passing by and asked him if he could possibly send our server to us. A manager came because our server was busy, my correct meal was made to go as the rest of my party were all but done eating and it was also comped which was a nice gesture. While I totally understand mistakes and miscommunication can happen, It was still a very disappointing experience. As we were leaving I went to use the Ladies room, not one of the cubicles had any toilet paper and the trash bin was overflowing and some trash was on the floor. I don't often write reviews especially negative ones, but you asked my opinion and here It is. I will not go back nor will I recommend Railstop to any friends, family or colleagues.
Gorgeous restaurant, excellent menu, DELICIOUS FOOD, elegant long bar and friendly waitstaff. Service was too quick but everything else was wonderful. LOVE that is wasn't noisy!!! Validated $5 parking at the Warrior Ice Arena was very convenient!
Food was really good and Mai Tai was so different and clever. Great decor and easy parking.
First time at this restaurant. Service was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back but probably for lunch not dinner. Would recommend friends try it.
Restaurant was quiet (patriots game night) . It was great atmosphere, good food. The only thing I didn't like was that appetizers and salads came out at the same time. We were offered an array of breads but were only brought 1 type which was disappointing. Food was very good, a little on the pricey side for some things but portions were good and everyone enjoyed what they got.
Chocolate chip cookie skillet with salted caramel ice cream was delicious.
Would definitely give it another try.
