Problems from beginning arrived 1210 for a 1215 booking the direct access door from ground level locked shut! Asked at hotel reception directed to lift through hotel foyer. This was not switched to access restaurant! Another couple was stuck in the lift trying to access same we had to complain to reception again to get the lift switched on. Finally getting to the restaurant we were quickly shown to our table lovely view on the balcony looking over the Thames was the high spot of our visit. Drinks order was taken quickly even then had to adjust my order as beer on menu was not available drinks arrived after a reasonable wait and our food order was taken. After a 30 min wait we were informed that there had been a problem with the gas after a fire alarm that morning and our food would be delayed 10 mins after another 20 mins my wife’s main course turned up before the starter? She didn’t think it would be a problem as both her choices were light dishes anyway. But she was shocked at the state of the ladies toilets messy and even whole flush mechanisms missing. After another 20 min we were approached by the manager stating there was still a problem with the gas and they did not know when it might be fixed did we want to change our order to something cold or fried! Did not really want this so offered to pay the bill so far and we would leave, to give the manager some credit they actually covered the costs incurred which was a nice bit of service recovery. Final shortfall the front desk greeter was so stuck into her phone she did not even say goodbye while we waited for lift. Was disappointed that our visit did not go as well as expected as my wife was really looking forward to it.

We started out having a great experience—Santiago, our server, was excellent. However, once we were moved outside (as originally planned), things changed. Our new server was a woman who seemed reserved and unfriendly, which impacted the overall mood. Unfortunately, a fly landed in one of our drinks. When we asked for a replacement, the same drink was returned—just with the fly removed—which was disappointing and concerning from a service and hygiene standpoint. We came hoping for a great time, and while the space is aesthetically beautiful, the service was inconsistent and ultimately left us with a negative impression.

My experience with the service was extremely disappointing. To begin with, when I made the booking, I requested a table with a rooftop view, which was not honoured. It was a very special occasion for me – my birthday – and I made that clear in the reservation as well. There was a 40-minute delay in bringing our drinks. When we asked the waitress about it, she explained that some ingredients were missing. Then we waited almost an hour for the plates to be cleared, and only after asking twice did the staff attend to it. At that point, we took the opportunity to order dessert. However, as it was taking far too long, we asked the waitress again what had happened. She didn’t remember our order and had to ask us again, and it still took another 30 minutes to arrive. The venue is beautiful, but unfortunately, the service was extremely poor.

I booked the table for a special celebration as did the group on the table next to us. On arrival at 2.15 I was told that we would need to be done by 3.30 as the restaurant had a private booking. This should have been stated at time of booking as I wouldn't have wasted my time going. They offered us a free drink and to sit in the lobby bar but this is not the same and we could have booked somewhere else if we had known in advance. They weren't very sympathetic with our situation and just said well you only get an hour and a half on your.booking anyway. Very disappointed by our visit.
