One of us ordered a steak and the steak wasn’t the best. Tough and had gristle. Although the service was great, we did not like the service “fee” or tip added into the bill. We like to have the autonomy to choose what we give.

We enjoyed our time at RA Bistro but the experience was a bit disjointed. There’s a sign on the table indicating they run European style service and there’s a 20% service charge added to the bill so tipping is optional. I’m fine with this as I usually tip 20% as a minimum. The problem seemed to be they worked as a team. When we were seated there was very few for the Saturday lunch service so they weren’t busy yet. We received our order nearly 40 mins. We asked a random waiter passing by and they apologized and said they check on it. They immediately came out with our food. My wife ordered salmon on her salad but it had chicken. They immediately brought out a piece of salmon to correct it. We both ordered the same salad except I did want chicken which I did receive. Her salad was missing tomatoes and my salad was missing bacon. My teenage daughters orders were perfect. The food had quality ingredients and tasted great otherwise and the servers were nice. I’m not a fan of a communal wait staff and our food being “forgotten” as no one server seemed accountable. Would I go back again? Yes the food was very good. If my order was forgotten or item missing again that would be the last time.

I had the San Fran Surf (shrimp) and Turf (chicken). The dish was not very tasty, rather dull, and the portion was small. I could have made a better version of the dish at home for much less money.

Food was great. Blonde waitress was a bit annoying, other than that everything was good. Was not expecting a tip to be added to the bill as a service charge and then asking for a tip on top of it.

Very good place in a great location. We enjoyed our lunch, including salads, burgers, fries and tuna tacos. Highly recommended for pleasant surroundings and good food at a reasonable price.

Steak was cooked to perfection; chef accommodated a specific allergy; waitstaff were helpful, knowledgeable and attentive; amazing cocktails; so many delicious options on the menu it was hard to choose! We will be back for sure!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Lynchburg. Great variety of choices on the menu and each I have tried has been delicious although I admit about half the time I get the Tuscan Chicken.

Our first time at RA. A Sunday night, sitting outside a bit noisy with cars and some loud patrons. Food was ok; cutting strips of steak on pasta in a round bowl was a challenge. Service was poor. There is "not being rushed" and then "waiting forever to be served"or trying to get the tab. Young wait staff needs more training. Sorry to give a poor review.

This was the first time I that a friend and I had tried the RA Bistro. The staff was very welcoming and seated us without delay. The food was exactly as stated in the menu and was delicious! The wait staff was attentive to our needs without hovering over us. Neither of us live in the Lynchburg area, but took a chance and decided to meet at the RA Bistro. Needless to say, we lucked out and will definitely meet there again for lunch or possibility dinner.

We went out for dinner at RA for the first time to celebrate our engagement/anniversary Our server didn’t seem to really understand my questions and I was a bit disappointed to be sat directly next to a table of other people when the restaurant was pretty much empty. We both got the seafood Mac and Cheese because everyone raves about how good it was….but I was not impressed at all. I will only say it’s worth the price because of the ingredients in the dish but taste wise definitely not. For a seafood dish with 3 types of seafood in it, I expected to taste some sort of fishy flavor but I got none and I was incredibly disappointed. Next time we try RA Bistro I think we’re gonna stick to burgers.

Fantastic service and super friendly owner! They had the best crab cakes I ever had, and I loved the ambience! My party and I weren’t pressured to leave the restaurant, and we enjoyed our meal uninterrupted!

Food was ok, not great. Service was awful! Waitress never even said hello or asked us our drink order. Didn’t fill our water, never checked on us if we needed anything or asked if everything was ok. Several waitresses were just standing around. We had to ask for our check. It seems since they automatically add 20 percent tip to the bill the waitresses could care less about serving the customers. Very disappointed.

The food and service was amazing!! If there was a rating it would be a 20 out 10 for the food and staff. The staff was so attentive. We do have plans to return to the restaurant. There are so many more things on the menu that we would like to try.

With a reservation, we waited for 30 minutes to be seated, then another 10 before anyone came to our table. By the time we received any water, we had been there for 50 minutes. Food orders came out wrong, menu misrepresents what the food actually is, seemed like nobody knew what they were doing. Brussel sprouts were horrible -- very mushy with no flavor. Very disappointed - will not be returning.

Stopped in for dinner and had a gift card. Burger was good and so was the spinach dip. The Barbecue Mac n cheese was also very good and a very large portion! Service was great but would liked to have had another drink..other than that we had a great time here.

I was disappointed in some aspects of the brunch items ordered - including lukewarm waffles and cold syrup. The eggs in the breakfast bowl were somehow still runny in the white and hard in the yolk - not the perfect poach. The breakfast bowl also suggested roasted vegetables were included, but I got spinach seemingly prepared like collard greens (the few onions included were clearly not roasted but cooked). I would say it was a disappointing food experience but a nice atmosphere and an extensive drinks menu. I think I’ll try again for lunch or dinner.

Amongst the four of us we all ordered three different things. None of it was amazing. We had the pimenta cheese starter and it was not full of flavor as you would expect. Two of us ordered a chicken dish with sun-dried tomatoes and it just needed more sauce it was a little lacking. Also the loaded mashed potatoes were not very flavorful. How could that be? Anyway we expected much better.
