   We enjoyed our dinner tonight. The wait staff was great. I appreciate that the 20% tip is listed on the check. Great place to eat and great staff.

   Nice overall ambiance. Food is overpriced for quality and delivery. We ordered the Corn Queso appetizer which was $15 and it was served on a plate with wax paper with not enough chips for the dip. When we asked for more we were charged $2.50 for an additional order of chips. We had the Barbecue MacnCheese which was $20 and came in a bowl which was not worthy of the price. Food was just so so. Not a fan of the 20% gratuity added automatically.

   We (party of 4) visited RA Bistro before a theater event in downtown Lynchburg. Upon sitting, I asked for a wine and beer list. After 10 to 15 minutes I asked again and was told they did not have one as the list was being redone, but the waitress began citing the wines and beer availability - the trouble was, she did not know anything about either wines or beers. Given how long it took just to get our drinks ordered, we went ahead and placed orders for appetizers and our entres. The calamari was good, but some were over-cooked. They then delivered the entres way too soon as were only half-way through the appetizers. My jambalaya over rice was quite good, as was my wife's steak pasta. However, the couple with us both ordered the Oscar Mahi Mahi, which was not. The crab cakes had too much stuffing and the mahi mahi was over-cooked and not well seasoned. Bottom-line, some of the food was quite good, but the service left a lot to be desired, which I blame mostly on the management for poor training. Unfortunately, they added an automatic 20% service fee, which I do not mind if they service is excellent, but when service is lacking, is annoying.

   My husband & I had a delightful dinner at RA Bistro! I had the crabby patty burger & mac n cheese. He had the chipotle burger & thia brussel sprouts. Both were very tasty! It was happy hour and we both enjoyed a well crafted martini. Chris our server was pleasant and checked on us several times. The lights were dimmed for dinner & the Christmas decor was a nice touch. I highly recommend RA Bistro!!

   We both tried something different this visit; Chicken Parmesan Pasta and the Surf & Turf. Both were excellent choices. We've never had a bad meal here and the service is top notch. Can’t comment on the bar offerings but they look good with a creative flair. Highly Recommend!!!

   I have been dining at RA for years and have generally had good experiences. This time was not good at all though. It took 5 requests to simply get enough water glasses for the table, we only had 4 people, my drink was incorrect, and we had 2 of our entrees come out wrong. The servers couldn’t answer questions and didn’t seem to know the menu so it is not surprising things were wrong. Definitely a poor experience, especially for my son’s birthday, but hopefully it is the aberration to the rule.
