   We used to love this restaurant. Something happened. Both dishes we ordered were not good. The lamb souvlaki was ok but all the accompaniments were tasteless. The moussaka felt like it was heated in a microwave. There were hot spots and cold spots throughout. The top layer of béchamel and cheese was just cold congealed mass. There were only 2 tables taken that night so it was not that the kitchen was rushed. I hope they improve their food. We used to live this place.

From the moment you get there you'll experience a very inviting atmosphere complete with classic Greek love and delicious items on the menu you can start with Saganaki, a flaming cheese appetizer that is sure to impress and any app you pick. For the main course, you can't go wrong with the moussaka, a classic Greek dish or even the burger. And of course, no Greek meal is complete without some baklava for dessert or the delicious Ravani cake that just melts in your mouth. The service at Pylos is exceptional especially if you get the pleasure of having JJ serve you but all the staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable who are happy to make recommendations and answer any questions you may have. The restaurant is also well-priced, making it an affordable option for anyone looking for a delicious Greek meal. Overall, I highly recommend Pylos for anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Greek dining experience...this restaurant truly has it all.

   Pylos is always great. Food and service are excellent, and the ambiance is nice. Very good value too. Their fried calamari, saganaki, grilled octopus, and grilled branzino are my favorites. Now they just need to add ravani and kunefe to their dessert menu to be perfect :-)

    This restaurant is a gem in San Carlos! The food is excellent! The service is tops ! JJ our waiter went above and beyond for us . Highly recommend this restaurant.     I have been here twice in the last 14 days. Amazing!!! Fresh and delicious greek food - try the Spanish Octopus! Great wine selection. Our waiter, same one twice, was outstanding. Highly recommend

    We were met by the owner/host cordially, were seated promptly, and presented with the menus. Drinks were served quickly, and our meals appeared reasonably soon. The food, as usual, was tasty, warm, and well presented. The wine was good, and the desert scrumptious. A most enjoyable experience.

    Excellent food and service. Convenient location central in San Carlos. Some very unique food items very tasty Greek food. Only negative is the prices for lunch are the same as for dinner which is not low. Would have appreciated a lunch menu like most restaurants.

    Great little spot for two or ten. Servers were extremely attentive and responsive. Food was fresh. Light in and noise were good for sustaining the energy in the room. Charming street worth wandering before/after. Would definitely go back again!

    We return to Pylos often because it has a great menu, always good food, nice ambiance and good service. The dips are some of the best we have ever enjoyed, especially the Greek olive dip. Prices are reasonable for high quality food.

    We had a confirmed 2:30 pm reservation and arrived prior to 2:30pm but were told restaurant was closed for private party. Unfortunately, given the time, other restaurants in the area were closing for lunch service. So, what was intended to be a nice birthday celebration turned into a very challenging time.

    Wonderful Greek restaurant. Very fresh food on a comprehensive menu that does not shoot to cover the whole of Greek cuisine. Generous portion sizes, great for sharing.     We celebrated a birthday with them. We were very lucky to get there when they opened. We were able to sit outside. The food was good. The service was good. I’m not sure they saw the message that we were there to celebrate a birthday, so they didn’t do anything special for that, but it was a nice meal together.     Pylos is a good Mediterranean restaurant. To start they bring you some delicious pita bread with a tomato spread. Their zucchini cakes with cucumber mint sauce and Greek lemon soup is a great way to begin your dinner. My two companions enjoyed fish and lamb shank. There is a full bar with interesting cocktails and an outdoor area that is very nice. If you like Mediterranean food, Pylos is the place to go in San Carlos.
