Great food ,drinks, ambiance, bar was cool looking
My friend and I had dinner here before a show - we both had salads (radish and arugula and the cranberry chicken salad). The wine makes the restaurant appealing; the food is nothing special and the service is fine. I used to really like their cranberry chicken salad but this time, it was kind of bland.
Noise level / echo was loud. Auto gratuity so our service was super sub par from the rude hostess, to servers, to the sommelier (when they were out of our wine he only suggested one other wine that was 3x more expensive.)
I’ve been frequenting this location for a decade but everything has slid way down hill. Will never ever ever go back to this location.
Service was a bit slow. Music was okay for caring on a conversation
Service suffered. It was a late lunch and we did not feel taken care of. Our server disappeared for long periods of time. She didn’t deserve the automatic 20% gratuity that was added onto bill
Very noisy and somewhat pricy. However food and beverages are grwat
Beautiful restaurant. The pasta and the steak were absolutely delicious. High-quality food, high-quality ingredients, high-quality service. Highly recommend.
This would be a definite recommendation for anyone looking for fun and hip spot in Seattle. Amazing wine list which is really well organized and contains some really different offerings you don't find in many places. Staff were all really helpful, friendly and most important knowledgeable. We went for dessert and after dinner drink. After our experience we could not wait to go back for dinner. Vibe of the entire place is fantastic. Just great energy you want to absorb. Interior is beautiful.
The hostess was super busy and couldn’t check us in for about 5 minutes-which would have been ok if she hadn’t told Open Table that I was a no-show. Dinner and service were excellent. Bill was DOUBLE what we owed. Manager explained that it was a “computer glitch”. Corrected bill arrived promptly.
Usually we love Purple but this experience was lacking. We got stuck in a back corner next to a loud event even though the restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived. Then the waitress was no where to be found for most of our meal and we had to go up to the bar to get our check.
Horrifically slow service, especially considering the fact that it wasn’t that busy. Had to track down waitresses twice. Forgot about us numerous additional times... no reason for it, and unforgivable. Yet, they added in 20% gratuity for a party of 3!
Wine selection was good. Food offerings were small, under-seasoned, lacking flavor... not up to par. Taking more time to review is just a further waste of my time.
Bottom line- Steer clear!
Our evening here was wonderful! Aimie was excellent. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. She definitely made our night extra memorable. The food was incredibly delicious, the kitchen was great at accommodating my allergies - much appreciated. The menu had so many food and wine options. The wine flights are brilliant! The ambiance is perfect, beautiful decor, wine everywhere and friendly staff.
We were very impressed with our waiter Scott. He was on top of everything and so cordial.
The Purple Cafe was recommended by a friend that had eaten there on a trip to Seattle. Her recommendation was dead on - excellent food and wonderful service. We would return on our next trip to Seattle.
Amazing food and wine
Save your money and don’t come here, unless for wine. We made the mistake of ordering entree’s and they were unexciting for the price. Maybe order a pizza or pasta and don’t make the mistake we did.
This was a delightful night out with friends - Brian was a great waiter. Highly recommend eating here!
The food was amazing, as was the service. Our server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Our party of 6 shared 3 appetizers: crab cakes, beef tartare and baked Brie. All were excellent. We also loved our meals, ranging from crab cakes to pizza, sandwiches, pasta and fish. The one minor complaint was about the prosciutto pizza; the peppers on it were so spicy it was impossible to taste anything else. Once most of the peppers were removed; however, it was quite delicious. The suggested wine pairings were perfect as were the cocktails and desserts. Our only complaint was that for the first part of our experience, our table was in the full sun, blinding the three on one side (even with sunglasses) and making everyone very warm. We were told the sun screen was broken. Otherwise, the ambiance was great.
Very nice place! I’m glad we went!
Took friends visiting from Austin. They were impressed, especially with the service. Wish I knew our server’s name; she was outstanding!
Wonderful as always.
Excellent place to celebrate a special meal, they delivered a complimentary dessert with a Port paring as a birthday gift, top service and great atmosphere
Best meal we had in Seattle. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Will definitely come back. I wish we had another opportunity on this trip.
Our server, Collins, was awesome, and the food was great!
Fabulous wine selection and display. Would have preferred lower level seating where the acoustics allowed us to hear one another. Pizza was excellent!
I don’t feel that the 20% mandatory service charge was fair, and it appeared to result in apathy from the staff.
Purple has long been my favorite restaurant in Seattle, and it just seems to keep getting better! Try the Impossible Burger.
Excellent wine and atmosphere. The food was great. I’ll go back for sure.
Our server was a amazing young lady. She knew her whine and most helpful. Great service Food was wonderful.
The baked Brie was the highlight of the meal. We tried one of the wine flights as well
Came for a romantic date before seeing the Seattle Symphony. Wait staff asked if we had anything time-wise we were trying to run off to afterwards (which we did!) and were accommodating to that timeline. Wonderful wine suggestions.
I love Purple! The server was amazing!! I love how they put a wine that would go well with each item of food on their menu! Super helpful. I will definitely be going back!
Absolutely Wonderful wines, as matched to tapas sized plates from all over Europe, and as poured by our Sommelier-Waiter Ben. The starter plates are nothing short of small miracles! Ben paired these with a most unusual Fina "dry" sherry to great & good effect. The larger hors d'oeuvres also very special, we really enjoyed the goose live pate with home made toast. A wonderful dinner was completed with local chocolate and fine Port. Thanks, Ben: We'll be back!
Wonderful restaurant, the staff was very friendly and helpful, 10/10 would go again
Food and service were excellent. Fantastic pasta and lamb! Accommodating to a vegetarian and a person on a Keto diet.
An ordinary restaurant which food meets expectation for the prices they charged.
When we checked out, the bill was exactly twice the amount it should be. When inquired, I was told that they have a "gitch" in the system. And I should sign the credit card slip that has the incorrect amount. Of course, I did not do it.
I asked to speak to the manager and she told me the same thing - sign the incorrect amount and everything will be fine. I declined and offered to pay cash. I was given a dirty look by the manager and everyone ignored me. I left cash on the table and no one even cares.
Went here on a trip after my daughters graduation from college, and it did not disappoint. Excellent food, ambiance, and service.
Really overpriced, included an almost 25% tip on bill. Food was good ok but only ok. interior is cool though.
Very cool place!
Members of our group arrived individually and surprisingly were seated at different tables although under my reservation. What's up with that.
