Great venue with covered, paid, nearby parking. Good food and nice ambiance though the noise level is hard to moderate in such an open and high ceilinged setting. Beware that the service tip is already added to your total bill but not verbally communicated, making it likely one might add another tip on top of the 20% already included in the bill. Such a move could be better shown on the billing or even verbally communicated.
Loved it, First time was home away from home!!! Thanks I'll be back
Lobster mac and cheese is on a whole another level 💕
The food and wine pairing were wonderfully thought out. The food was delicious and the portions perfect.
Nice place to meet with friends for lunch. Good service and ambiance, I like the unique decor.
Food was delicious and presented nicely. Our server was friendly and efficient. Had a wonderful dinner.
We were in Bellevue for a long weekend getaway and I had researched some local restaurants beforehand for date night. We decided on Purple and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Service was friendly and the food was amazing! If we ever make it back to the area I'm sure we'd dine here again.
Service was great. Even though there were people at every table I was still able to bear my date pretty clearly. Great atmosphere!
We love Purple. It has been our go to restaurant since moving to the area four years ago. The food has always been good, and until this night, the service is usually top notch.
Our service this past Saturday was mediocre, the server had to return several times to our table regarding our cocktails. A specific vodka listed on their current menu was no longer available. The server also disappeared for great lengths of time including after bringing us the dessert menu and we had to get up to ask for our check as we had waited nearly 20 minutes from the time we had finished with dessert until we had to get up from the table and rush to catch our ride before it left. One of us had to stay to find the server to pay.
Then we discovered that Purple now automatically adds a 20% service charge to every check! Until tonight I would never have thought twice about tipping well at Purple. Very disappointed..
My friend and I had a delicious meal. This restaurant is great for celebrating any special occasion!
Pretty pricey and certainly the main dishes were really good. Cauliflower salad was meh and kinda wilty. Wine was tasty but overpriced . It was a special occasion and we enjoyed the company but service lacks polish especially overeliance on bus boy types slamming food down on the table. Needs some improvement but overall was OK
The food was great! We loved the variety in the menu as well as the great selection of wines. However, the service was slow- food came out pretty quick, but we wish our server had checked in on us more frequently.
Service was slow. Too pricey for the value of the food. Would not go back.
I love everything about Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. Delicious, creative and healthy food with interesting flavor combinations. I love it when I find a restaurant that features menu selections that I can’t easily recreate at home. Great ambiance and furnishings with sturdy rustic tables and chairs that are plenty spacious. Soaring high ceilings. Attentive and timely service. I believe this is my 3rd visit here and every time it has been stellar.
Lovely place with great ambience. Fun design. Had a wine flight which was a great way to try some different wines. Only had the stuffed figs but they were delcious. Our server was very nice and attentive. I would recommend checking this place out.
Went in for my birthday, was running late as we were coming from the other side of the boarder. I tried calling multiple times to let them know.. no answer. Finally got a hold of someone and they said it would be fine to come in even though it was closer to closing. My girlfriends and I got there, we didn’t see a server in sight for at least 5-10 mins. We apologized for running late and understood it was close to closing so we order all of our drinks and food in one go, I told the server it my was my birthday.. his response “okay”. Not that I expect anything over the top but it’s nice to be treated well on your birthday! Our server barely spoke to us the whole time, he seemed annoyed and irritated with us as if we had done something wrong. I felt very uncomfortable and almost as if we were a nusiance. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the service and the way I was treated on my birthday, it dramatically changed the mood of the whole night. Especially because one of the reasons we came to Bellevue was to eat there and we’re vey excited. To top things off at the end of the dinner our server warmed up a little bit, and said “sooo... it’s your birthday didn’t you want a dessert or something” as if it was forced. I politely declined and we paid our bills.
Would definitely not recommend for a special occasion and would not go back.
Made a reservation early, in hope to have a good seat. We were at a tiny table near a pole and the walk in couple behind us got a window. I understand that each server has a section. Overall great experience, great server!
Too noise. Chairs to heavy.
Purple is great (food, convenient location in Bellevue, great staff). The major drawback is it is extremely NOISY. This is a definite issue in my selecting this restaurant which is unfortunate because everything else is good.
Shara was amazing!
Not as good as we remembered it. The food was okay this time. Our server forgot one of the items we ordered but she made up for it with the free dessert.
We tried the wagyu beef and it wasn’t for us. We understand this is a high price, fancy cut of meat, but we did not enjoy it. Maybe our palates are just sub par? Otherwise it was a lovely evening and we had a great time!
We enjoy the restaurant and especially appreciate Ashley, who is always friendly and welcoming. She makes your restaurant better!
Big disappointment...have been a regular customer in Kirkland for years and occasionally in Bellevue...waiter took the idea of casual dress to heart...rumpled flannel plaid shirt that would have looked better in a pub or the woods...total not the Purple image. The new York steak was prepared as ordered - very rare but the cut was sinewy and had grizzle and was poorly trimmed...even the steak knife could not get through it...my dog liked it though. The fries with the steak were rubbery and cold....the competition in B'vue is keen and Purple needs to step up.
Great place, with a great wine selection.
Food was excellent!
The food here is fantastic- I love that everything has a great wine selection to go with it. The layout and ambiance are great!
Waiter did his job well enough but seemed a little aloof and distracted. We enjoyed our food and the overall experience and would definitely go back.
Went for happy hour on valentines day. We got a bunch of appetizers, they were half off, drinks were on discount as well. The food was absolutely amazing and affordable during happy hour! Loved every dish, we will certainly be back.
Slow wait staff. Chicken Marsala was a joke. $15 for parking?
I typically love Purple and my dish (the Lamb ragu) was great. My husband's steak was just meh. The appetizer was good but not amazing. I think if you have unlimited budget for dining and a really good bottle of wine it's a very nice place but if you want to pay under $50 for a bottle you're headed to the wrong spot.
Open mess hall style environment that some may like. Chicken had no flavor, slow service and VERY noisy. Not my style.
Best service I've had at any purple restaurant. Food was on point as usual.
Had a great lunch! Met up with a friend, and had no issues with being seated and served promptly. Our waitress was great and with just the right amount of attention - not too little, not too much. We got the lunch combo of the tomato soup and chopped salad, and both were delicious and filled me up perfectly. I have been here for dinner before, but was really pleased with my lunch experience all around.
We've had dinner at this location multiple times.
Seating: We always ask for a wall or window table - they seem to be quieter
Service: The service was okay but not great. The server could have come by a bit more.
Wait time for food: Usually the wait for food isn't too long. We ordered a steak and a burger. It took ~40 min to get our order which seemed like a very long time. We also ordered dessert (crème brulee) and it also took forever (for what it is). For entrees and dessert we were there for over 2 hrs on a Saturday night.
Burger - Husband said it was good but they forgot the onion
Steak - was cooked as ordered, needed more seasoning
Crème Brulee - Very good
Overall, it was good but the service was very slow and somewhat inattentive. He refilled my soda with the wrong kind and almost got the dessert order wrong (I caught it and corrected him). We'll be back - am thinking they were having a off-night. Maybe multiple people were out sick.
We had a lovely time on our date night out. Food was delicious if not terribly memorable, but a good meal is a good meal. The flavor combinations are fun and unique. The service and ambience was top notch. We adored the Creme Brûlée.
Great as always!
Cool vibe, good food. I eat lunch here often, but this was one of only a couple of times that we’ve gone for dinner. Was in the mood for a comfortable local place with good food but not too fancy. I started w/my tried and true lunch selection—chopped salad and had two apps as my main course—filo wrapped Brie & tuna tartare. Both were very flavorful. Husband had beef tenderloin steak—not as perfectly prepared as what a more expensive top steakhouse offers, but it was good and portion was surprisingly big. Service was friendly and timely without being overly intrusive. Hit the spot.
Consistently great food and service. Free dessert for special occasions.
The waitstaff and reservation desk did a great job of accommodating our special needs birthday person. They had it ready when we showed up and served up a great meal! I will say that the noise level in this space is very high ... steel and concrete and glass and a full load of customers made it exceptionally loud in the restaurant. It didn't spoil the dinner but did make for difficulty in conversing.
