Food was excellent—halibut seviche, calamari, and roast Brussel sprouts starters; pork tenderloin roast and pizza mains. All excellent, especially the roast pork. As lively as the atmosphere was, the concrete floors and high ceilings made it too noisy for me. At our table for 4 on the open main floor, it was hard to hear my friends just across the table.
Great food, Great Service! Enjoyed open air seating in the summer.
Always a great place. Service not on par as usual. Will still come back.
Outside was super windy, which I gather is a constant problem. Perhaps something could be done to mitigate the wind. Metal chair tore a hole in my suit pant leg.
Great food. Huge wine selection with excellent service. A little noisy but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
I've been coming her for a few years, and unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone down but prices are either about the same or more. The food is OK, but not worth the prices for the most part. The service was good, but they automatically apply a 20% tip to the bill now, which doesn't feel right. What if you get lousy service? Tips are important, but they should be given when earned and deserved. They're not an entitlement.
Have had poor service my last two visits. Both times we had no wait staff check back in with us once we received our food. Food itself is delicious but frustrating with poor service.
Great food, unbelievable wine selection, lots of seating options. Very good staff and management. Give it a try.
Purple is always a crowd pleaser, from the wine selection to the food and friendly wait staff. The drinks are done well, food is always delicious and I try to visit at least once a quarter.
We visited the Purple twice this week with our friends. My wife an I chose the King Salmon, which was prepared perfectly - not overdone. I ordered the tomato soup which also was prepared better than I’ve ever had it anywhere.
The wait staff are very helpful friendly and attentive. The food was very good but didn’t match the price point (quality/quantity)
Great place. I will recommend.
From the greeting at the door to the final dessert, Purple Cafe exceeded our expectations. I now consider it to be my favorite restaurant in Bellevue.
I ALWAYS ENJOY GOOD FOOD AND ROMATIC AMBIANCE AND THIS PLACE HAS BOTH.
I love eating at Purple. The cranberry chicken salad was not finely chopped as it had been before. I like it better than the large chunks of chicken and apple. The wine and ambience was fabulous.
Service was fantastic and made for a very enjoyable evening
The Purple Cafe and Wine Bar is a wonderful place to have a date. The service was great and the food was outstanding.
Really tasty food and fast service. Smaller portions but perfect for a 3 course meal. They automatically added 20% tip to our table of 2 so something to note. We would have tipped the same for the excellent service.
Excellent. My wife had a vegetarian burger...The Impossible Burger...which was excellent. The featured Gin and Tonic was excellent too. Highly recommended.
We were inside of one of the swirly metal areas of the restaurant. The acoustics and lighting were horrible. The food was some of the worst I've ever had at Purple and it seems like the prices were higher. I was very upset to see that they tacked on an automatic 20% gratuity for our table of four. I will no longer be dining at any of the restaurants in the Heavy Restaurant Group because of this mandatory gratuity. A gratuity should be earned not demanded.
Had a lovely lunch outside on the patio. Wonderful service and healthy meal!
kendra was awesome... food was awesome. will go again... reasonably priced..
Lunch was good, as expected. Service was great and kale Cesar salad is a hit!
Everything was amazing; ahi poke, chopped salad, salmon bahn mi, dates with Gorgonzola, wine flights and Carmels. Couldn't have been happier with our meal.
First thing you notice when you enter this place is the gigantic metal doors that seem to guard this place in case they are under siege. When you walk in you notice a huge space with a very industrial feel which I really liked. After checking out the menu I went for the wild boar bolognese and I will say that it was amazing. Just the right amount of pasta and boar which made the dish quite filling. My server was quite friendly and attentive which is always appreciated. The price wasn't too bad and just a bit of warning they will automatically add 20% to your bill to cover the tip so don't be caught off guard by it. I was for a moment but it wasn't a big deal to me since the service I received certainly was deserving of that amount.
Great atmosphere. Take the time to sample the wine before ordering.
Great ambiance, food and service. One of my go to restaurants when back in the Seattle area. Goes without saying, great wine selections as well.
This was a great place to eat. Took my husband here for his birthday
I’ve been a regular patron for two years and dine at purple cafe when I am in Bellevue every quarter or more frequently. My last visit was dissapointing, the New York strip was tough and my meal was topped off with a peach sorbe that was tasteless, somewhat sticky in texture and had big chunks of ice in it. They comped my wine and desert. It was an overall dissapointing visit.... won’t try it again for a while.
The owner decided that they rather autograt 20% on tax instead of paying their staff a fair wage. I get it if we were a party of 8+, or a tourist from a country that doesn’t believe in tips... But we were taking our daughter out for dinner ( a party of 3). and I feel that this ruined our evening afterwards. I don’t like to be told what or what not to TIP. I feel that this will be our last time until they remove the service charge.
Btw they even autograt the bottle of wine that we bought to go.
The food was good, the service was average & the wine list is extensive. We were, however, shocked to find a mandatory 20% tip automatically added to the bill. There was only 3 of us dining so we were surprised by this. The real problem was they added the the tax to the bill & then taxed you on that amount! Never heard of this before & we’ve been eating at 4 & 5 star restaurants for years. We didn’t know this was even legal & didn’t see this information in the menu. Must have missed it?
Amelia did a very nice job.
appreciated Scott’s wine recommendation.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday! Our 8 year old came too! The atmosphere was nice and the service was exceptional! My husband enjoyed his dinner, so did my daughter and myself. My lemon drop cocktail was perfect! My husband got a complementary birthday dessert, which he loved! Great birthday dinner! Kid-friendly also! Thanks!
Had dinner with friends on a Saturday evening. Strangely, the place was not that busy. The service was good though the waitress was really focused on getting the napkin ring holders once they were removed from napkins.
Food was really good and Purple has a great wine list. Between the Bellevue, Seattle, and Woodinville locations, the Woodinville location is the best.
The food was wonderful and the waiter was awesome! Entire staff is friendly and helpful! Menu has a great variety of choices.
Purple is my daughters’ and my place to go. We have fond memories of eating there together. This last visit was on our way to a concert on a Thursday evening. I was very surprised to see included on the bill, a tip of 25%. I tip at 20% consistently unless something goes very wrong because I know the servers work hard. Being given no discretion, a mandatory 25% seems high. I will think twice about going there again when there are so many choices in Bellevue / Seattle or just stay home and make our own pasta, baked Brie and accompanied by great wine.
Purple is a fantastic restaurant in general but exquisite for wine enthusiasts. We enjoy & appreciate the art of pairing the perfect wine with high-quality & creative dishes, and the culinary & sommelier team at Purple do not disappoint! We agreed with all of the suggested pairings except one but our amazing server helped us make a better match for our tastes. We highly recommend Purple for a special treat or a regular meal out. The food was delicious, the wine was amazing & the overall service was top-notch. Can’t wait to go again!!!
First time here. Just a family meal out. Really enjoyed the food( short ribs) sooo tender. We had 3 starters, dates with Gorgonzola, baked Brie, fresh bread. All excellent. Good wine pairing. Server was helpful with selections and friendly. Definitely will try again
I had the chicken marsala, but unfortunately the chicken was way overdone. Kind of like to chewing on leather. I should’ve sent it back, but by the time the waiter came by I didn’t have time to wait for them to cook it again. The wine was great, over all the service was good. Had our favorite appetizer the baked brie. If I come back I would not order the chicken marsala. Too bad, I’ve had it here before and it was delicious.
