I am almost reluctant to submit a review for this gem of a restaurant, in fear we can never again get a reservation there. However, it would be greedy of me not to spread the word.

My husband and I have loved Purlieu since it opened but haven’t been able to dine there during Pandemic closures since March 15, 2019. Our dinner there on Saturday, September 27, 2021 marked a return to one of our all-time favourite restaurants. Chef Eric Mah did not disappoint nor did his wonderful serving staff. The meal (Cornish game hen for me and loin of pork for my husband) was fabulous and our appetizer, dessert and wine choices made our first post Pandemic closure meal outstanding. I look forward to regular nights out at Purlieu in the future.

We have had dinner here a number of times. Took another couple last night. Restaurant was very busy and our server had her hands full but she handled everything well. Drinks were a little slow in coming but they were great once they arrived. The food was wonderful although there was a mixup with one of the orders which they handled to our satisfaction. Great restaurant, fair prices and a lovely menu. Always enjoy it here!!

We go to Purlieu often it is always excellent. Last night I had the appetizer special Elk terrine which was outstanding. Its not on the drink list but I also had a fabulous Negroni. In case you are looking for suggestions Jason... 1) The Elk terrine on the main menu 2)barrel aged Negroni, neither of which will affect our attendance but would be nice.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and great service. It was my wife and I's first time at Purlieu to celebrate her birthday. We had read great things previously and they all lived up to our expectations. The mussels we had to share (even though they're a main) were amazing and both of our sides were great as well! Our servers let us know the menu does change frequently so we can't wait to come back and try something new!

We live close by. We were happily by how nice it is inside. Great food. Friendly service. We'll definitely be going again.

We don't usually eat out as we cook a variety of foods ourselves. The food at Purlieu was fantastic! We could find items on the menu that we don't cook normally and everything was done to perfection!

We really enjoyed our meal. Excellent. Only thing was as the restaurant became full the noise was so over powering we left a bit early because of it.

Everything about our evening at Purlieu was excellent. The service was outstanding, as was the food and drinks. Will certainly be dining here again.

Its quaint in their small space so its not over crowded. Food was FANTASTIC!! Service was GREAT!

Lovely modern bistro décor. Pleasant informed personable server. The menu offers appetizers and entrees for all tastes. It’s not too large so you know the ingredients are fresh and can rotate by season. The dishes are pleasing to the eye, balanced, delicious and skilfully prepared. Highly recommend for special occasions or for a nice evening out with family and friends.

The food and service were both exceptional! Can't recommend highly enough.

As this was our second visit to Purlieu, we were really looking forward to our evening and meals. Unfortunately, this visit was not like the first. Service and cocktails were great, but the burger for two guests were extremely dried out and multiple guests that ordered the cornish hen commented on the plate lacking taste/seasoning. Perhaps it was a one night glitch?

Have eaten here a few times. Always very enjoyable. Brought another couple who had not dined here. They thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks and service. The Food was excellent as was the service. Apparently the menu is about to change so new adventures in taste are coming!! We are looking forward to that.

Excellent French-style cuisine, flawless and friendly service, cozy ambiance, reasonable cheque at the end. I could not ask for more. 5/5 stars!

Two of us had the mussels, which were most enjoyable, and our third had the cod, which she acclaimed to be excellent. The service was excellent with all questions relating to the menu provided fully.

The menu is limited. I ordered a hamburger with fries - the fries were not crisp, the hamburger consisted of two thin, dry patties. Not a juicy burger that we had when we previously had dined at Purlieu. Most of the fries were soggy, overcooked and very brown. I mentioned my dissatisfaction to our waiter and she said she would let the kitchen know. Our tip reflected the preparation of my meal and lack of acknowledgment from the kitchen.

Great experience enjoyed the service and the food immensely

The food is presented in a tasteful and creative manner. Our server Jillian was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed hearing one of our favourite vinyl records over dinner.

First time out for an in-restaurant experience since April Covid restrictions. Purlieu was our first choice and it did not disappoint. Chef Eric has a new chef and she prepare a fantastic meal for us. Purlieu is not large and they are able to provide an personalized and friendly experience. We can't wait for Trullo Trattoria to open. This is Jason & Eric's 2nd restaurant for Calgary to experience. Confluence Distilling is providing a special gin for Trullo.

Another fabulous meal at Purlieu on the the last evening of in-house dining before shut down. We will miss their fabulous food and friendly service.

Best Mussels in the city, and killer service as always.

Wonderful menu, superb ambiance, and great value for your dollar. Hidden gem in the ‘burbs! Some of the best French inspired food I’ve had yet.
