I absolutely loved the food, ambiance...however, a couple of friends didn't like the unique flavor/spice combinations so I lowered my overall rating to 4, I personally would rate the overall experience to 5. Loved Tajin (vs. salt) Margherita.
Fun ambiance with delicious food! It’s a favorite spot when I’m in the area.
Team met here for dinner and drinks. We were very pleased with the food, ambiance and service. We talked about going back for our holiday dinner. Had a great time!
Good food and a great value on Taco Tuesday. Music was a little loud making it hard to have a conversation.
I don’t know what the hubbub is about. This place was just average
We had the best time and amazing food. We highly recommend the Fillet Mignon taco and the Main Lobster Taco. The flavors were amazing. Add in high quality margaritas, some interesting takes on guac, and a vibrant, sexy atmosphere....you get the perfect date night!
The food left something to be desired - I’m shocked this place was on so many “best tacos” lists. I still don’t understand how the guacamole could be mediocre, but it was. We tried several of the tacos and none wowed us (I think of the al pastor, tomatillo, carnitas we tried, the fish taco and mushroom taco were the only ones we actually finished). Too bad because it was a lively crowd with fun decor in a great location close to our hotel.
The tacos were delicious as well as the guacamole with candied walnuts and polmegranite. Definitely a SD gem that we will be going back to!
Had an awesome time at Puesto with my significant other for a special occasion. The decor and surroundings are amazing and the feel to the place is very lively and energetic. Food, drinks and service were all outstanding.
We had an amazing and memorable night.
Fun atmosphere! The outdoor seating was nice. Everything from the chips and salsa to the margaritas and unique tacos were great. We’re so glad we went here on our vacation.
Great Food--Great Service--Great atmosphere (upstairs)
First off I want to say I’m a huge fan of Puesto... just NOT this location. The food was a total disappointment in both quality and taste. I go to the Irvine Los Olivos location 1-2 a month and the food there is always amazing and the quality is consistent and top notch. I don’t know why there is such a difference between the two restaurants but after the experience I had here I will not be returning. If you find yourself in Orange County try the Puesto there and you’ll be blown away. The Puesto at HQ is completely lacking in everything from service to quality and taste.
Service was very slow, and it was not very busy. Food was ok, tasted good, but very overpriced for the quantity you actually got.
Waiter was rude. General Manager lacks customer service skills.
Excellent!!!! Anxious to go back when we are in San Diego
Went during restaurant week was very busy and still loved the service and food!
The Enviroment of the restaurant is nice, but the food is overpriced and not special. I would not recommend if u are looking for good and authentic mexican food. The tacos were very dry and not favorful. I was surprised by the high rating people gave
Original taste for this Mexican food but a bit overpriced for what you get. Service is quite overloaded hence doesn't pay so much attention to you. Good for place for people who like to show off.
I love the authentic taco style selection delicious to the last bite. The ladies making the tortillas were certainly working hard a big shout out to them and of course all the workers!
great food, great location, great service, great atmosphere
Great food and service as always!!
Puesto was a great taco shop when it first opened but has since become an overpriced, moderately good restaurant. It seems like they became greedy. $20 for a Cadillac Margarita? WAY too much. $16 for three tiny street tacos. Too much!
There are plenty of delicious Mexican restaurants in San a diego where you can great great food and ambience for half the price.
Service and ambiance were exceptional! Unfortunately, the food was just okay. We went for SD restaurant week and I was not impressed with their food. It was a little too spicy for me (the guacamole and tacos). The esquite (corn) was pretty good. The dessert (tres leches) was too rich for my taste. Won’t probably come back although my son who loves spicy food said he will be back for happy hour.
Great food, great drinks in a great location!
Food is very good but expensive for smallish tacos
Puesto doesn’t ever disappoint. Every time we’ve been there the street tacos are amazing. Service is excellent and the ambiance is perfect for sharing a meal with friends.
The food is always delicious, I am never disappointed when I eat here. I just wish some menu items would come back; like the Soy Chorizo taco.
Every taco on the menu is a gem! Be sure and always order the Taco of the Month.
The food was fantastic. I had let the hostess know it was my boyfriends birthday, nothing was brought out. We received our food before our first cocktails. Which is okay the drinks were comped but we would have rather have enjoyed a couple drinks instead of just one. It was an okay experience.
The spicy margarita was amazing! Service was wonderful. We tried 6 different tacos and the filet Mignon taco was definitely the best. I also enjoyed the grilled pulpo taco in second. The salsa was delish too which I appreciated!
It was very TEX MEX. We are expecting San Diego to have a more authentic Mexican food. Fish taco had cream on it and the piece of fish was small. (Again, being on the Ocean...we expected more fish at a higher quality.) The margaritas were also too sweet.
Our server had a great personality. He worked hard and really hustled.
Great ambiance, good Margaritas, delicious food, and outstanding service. Definitely I will be back.
Personally I feel $100 for 6 tacos and a margarita and some tequila is way overpriced! We were seated for quite some time before anyone approached our table. I also had to ask the waitress for a refill on my drink after she passed me by. The tacos were delicious and different than any I've ever had! Service could have been better though.
the food is amazing and we have been fortunate to have the same waitress who recognized us when we came back, her name was Edith and she took very good care of us!
The tacos were very good. Our server forgot to put in our appetizers, so our meal came out first. Also, the bar was pretty slow at getting out our drinks. It was a fun place but service was a little lacking.
Very slow service. Had a reservation and had to wait an extra 30 minutes to be seated and another thirty for our server to get our food. Will not be coming back here ever.
The best tacos ever!!! Would definitely recommend to all ages. A fun night
Honestly, I just come for the margaritas. They aren't gigantic, but they are strong and this is just a fun local spot to relax when friends are in town.
Great service! Server very attentive and food was excellent. Will go back.
Some areas are noisy so if want quiet state so when making reservations.
Great place for a birthday dinner.
