Very fun atmosphere, yummy food, tasty drinks. We went here for a 30th birthday celebration and it was definitely worthy of a special night out.
What Happened Puesto? I haven't been there in about a year. The quality yesterday was horrible. Fish was fishy, flavors seemed to have disappeared? What a disappointment!
We celebrated my friends birthday here with a late lunch on taco Tuesday, and overall it was fantastic! Food was great and they had amazing deals for taco Tuesday ($3 tacos from 3-6pm.. whaaaaa?) our server was great, I wish I got her name. But shout out to her cause she was bomb! Tacos were messy but super tasty. I can’t wait to go back!
Wish I knew our server’s name so I could give her the credit she deserves. I knew the food here was great and it makes your experience even greater when you have great service.
This place didn’t have the greatest Mexican fare, found the prices a bit steep for the quality and portions of the food. Service was good, my waitress was friendly and attentive. However the food lacked the wow factor. For a place so close to Mexico, and so much competition around “Puesto” needs to do better with their menu in the future.
Taylor our server was warm and attentive. Great Tequlia choices. We asked for a more cozy table and they accommodated us right away.
The food, drink, and ambience were mediocre. Not anywhere near up to 2018 standards. However, our server, Samantha, was outstanding in every way.
Service was very slow and food was not warm upon arrival.
Excellent food here! Staff is friendly too, however, they're all experts in upselling. You try to go in for taco tuesday and next thing you know you've got everything but tacos on order. You can't truly as them they're opinion on plates, because everything is their favorite dish. I've realized this is a place to go with family or friends, but not a date, unless you're willing to order things you don't actually want to get, but sound good when the wait staff explains them. Don't even get me started with how hard they push dessert lol.
First time there and I'll absolutely be back. I was visiting from Salt Lake City with co-workers, and we took one of our clients there. They knew of the spot and said we'd love it, and they were right on. The service was great, and the tacos excellent. We happened to be there on taco Tuesday so that was a special bonus we had no idea we'd be experiencing.
Even the dessert was fantastic. I had the mango cheesecake and was FORCED to share it was so dang good!
Love this place! Lucky for me I visit San Diego once a month or so, so I'm already looking forward to my next trip!
The taco menu is unusual and exceptional! I order the three taco plate every time I dine at Puesto.
I love the food here every time I come to SD I want to eat here how
Other than ambience, everything was bad. Food was totally bland, no flavor. Service was really bad. Ordered a beer, the waiter never got it. Wantad to order more chips, waiter never came back. She never even checked if we needed anything, except at the end when we wanted the check. I recommend other mexican places that have better fish tacos.
awesome food and great service on my son's recommendation who frequents your restaurant often. we will return to enjoy your exquisite food. thank you
Very good, as usual.
Puesto is a favorite dining out spot. Although it's more crowded on Taco Tuesdays, it is totally worth planning ahead and making a reservation. They have an innovative menu and amazing flavors. Enjoy!
Food and ambiance were excellent. Cocktails were outstanding. They were really nice and accommodated adding an extra person last minute.
Great food and ambience. Easy parking - valet or self park.
My wife and I had a date night at Puesto for taco Tuesday. We were seated upstairs, which was fantastic because it was not as crowded as downstairs. The food was excellent, and our server was great. We did not feel like we had to wait too long for our food. As soon as we sat down we were brought chips and salsa and water. We had a great night, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the taco of the month!
We came to puesto to break-up for the 5th time... were both masochist and love choosing amazing venues to make a scene and break each other. Overall, the experience was amazing and the food was an 11/10 just like me, the brown Chris, not the white one. Xx
Our server Abraham was great!
Experience was great with all the open venue windows and atmosphere great service friendly waitress amazing food if your going to get two tacos might as well get three and you have to try the frozen horchata hint there is an alcoholic version but I recommend the non alcoholic is really good but just double check with the waiter if the frozen horchata machine is working inside joke we called in advance to make sure cause we really wanted to try that drink lol overall amazing place you gotta go on Tuesdays too !!!!!
Too much hoopla for this place. Food was decent but overpriced for what you actually get.
During busy hours, service can be a little slow. Even with reservation for an outdoor table, the time taken to be seated and for the food to arrive was around an hour.
Everything was perfect. Good amazing as usual and superb service.
The kitchen, like so many it seems, favors a heavy load of salt in their food. What a shame, you could almost taste hints of good seasoning, but it was dominated by the salt.
Drinks were extremely backlogged and we got our food before our drinks
Puesto is a very nice place, great seating in a very nice environment. The food is great, lots of choice, great tacos. Recommended.
We used this restaurant for a get-together. The good location, good food, and good service. No complain. However, no outstanding either.
I’d been to Puesto a few years ago and had a fabulous experience. This time, the device was great but the food was forgettable. The restaurant has a great ambiance but the food is definitely not worth the money. The classic guacamole was $11 and our table was pretty sure it was just avocado and onions. Everything just lacked flavor.
I want to rate this higher but our service was unfortunately extremely slow. It took about ten minutes for the waiter to come talk to us, 30 min for our drinks, and an hour to get our food. We think it was just our waiter because everything else seemed to be moving quickly.
The shrimp and filet mignon tacos are awesome.
The service was extremely poor! We sat for several minutes before waiter even came by. Then, drinks for two of us arrived with dinner (instead of before) and the third person's drink arrived much later-after several reminders and half of our meal had been eaten. The tacos were soggy and unable to be picked up.
Of course, we had to ask for the bill and for our parking voucher at least twice.
I do want to say that the flavors of the fillings were very tasty and the decor was quite attractive. However the overall feeling is that I will not return.
We had a late lunch with the family and everything was delicious. The guacamole was chunky and flavorful and I especially enjoyed the vegetarian tacos. This is the third Puesto location I have dined at and each restaurant has been really good.
I was seated inside despite requesting outside table by a heat lamp. The chips and tacos were cold.
Thank you again for inviting us and our two POMbassadors, Zig&Zoe, to dine with you. We had a wonderful time. From the moment we were welcomed to taking photos in the restaurant with staff and chefs behind the glass. Truly a night to remember. We look forward to bringing Ziggy and Zoey to dine out with you again. Thank you Puesto at HQ for a lovely evening.
Jaime our server had the best idea - add the frozen horchata to the cold brew. Our new fave next to the hero and the California taco. Yuuuum!
Thought the changes to the menu food and drink wise were not that great. Service was great. Food was good, nothing out of the ordinary.
This place was amazing! We all loved the steak, fish, and pulled pork tacos and their twist on the Caesar Salad was amazing! The spicy margarita was wonderful and they had some very good guacamole. We loved the artwork and the vibe of the restaurant too. We will be coming back!
We always have a great time eating at puesto. Today, we noticed they changed their campechana for a similar item that wasn’t very good. The shrimp didn’t taste fresh, but the server was kind enough to take care of it for us. The server made us feel appreciated and we left with a positive experience.
Fun, casual atmosphere; friendly, attentive staff
Nice menu with authentic Mexican-SoCal
