Amazing; I always head here on my trips to San Diego and bring friends. Flavorful and unique tacos.
Great drinks. Love the atmosphere.
Heat lamps were out and staff not as attentive. However, ate here before— good place overall
The Puesto staff were very kind. At the time of our dinner reservation, the bar was slightly behind. They were very courteous and provided additional guac and chips. They also were very patient and helpful when selecting our meals. Overall totally worth it!
Yummmm! Get the avocado margarita, al pastor taco and the steak taco!
I was not sure what to expect beforehand, but the food was out of this world! Such deep, complex flavors! I would go back in a heartbeat!
It was cold and raining outside
Didn’t ask us if we were ok w sitting outside just sat us out there (was a lot of seating inside too)
Didn’t turn on heating lamp
Served cold water when we asked for hot - that wasn’t as as they were nice about it and it was kind of funny but those were the only things
Very poor service. It was obvious the waiter was after turning the table over as quickly as possible and that is all he cared about. The margaritas my wife ordered came 10 minutes after mine was brought to our table and only after I asked the waiter about it 3 times. Also there could not have been more than 1.5 ounces liquid in each glass (for $13/ margarita I expect more than that, wouldn’t you?). The food was OK but not for the price. I will never go back.
I was unable to get a reservation between 4:45 and 8:45 on a Taco Tuesday because it was being reserved for some large affair. It kind of defeats the idea of the Taco Tuesday draw if you can't get a reservation at a decent meal hour.
Great place all the way around. Loved the filet mignon tacos!
The tacos were exceptionally delicious, as were the margaritas. We weren't sure what to expect from our visit, but our expectations were definitely exceeded. Just wish there were a few more items offered on the menu that weren't spicy. If you pay attention to the ingredients though you can ask to have the accompanying salsas on the side and enjoy your meal without the added heat if that's your preference. Would definitely return here again for future visits.
Great spot. Great food. Took my gf there for out first year anniversary
The food wasn’t very flavorful drinks were way to sweet. Overall we will not be back.
Service started out great and ended out bad
Party of 9 for lunch. Great tacos and guacamole with chunks of reggiano Parmigiano... best ever
Lower the noise and I’ll come back. Server did not notice this was a birthday celebration. Great food.
Overall was good. Some of the food/ drinks were overpriced for what they are.
Looooved the experience! Food was bomb as always :)
Great location, great food, great time!
I've been to Puesto La Jolla a number if you're and the food has always been great. Our food was underwhelming here. The service was friendly and efficient, but the cost for the value of the food is not worth it. The other thing is that parking at Seaport Village is outrageously expensive - $24 for our 2.25 hour meal!!! I don't know if there was validation, but no one at the restaurant asked us if we needed parking validation and there was no obvious sign about validation.
Family vacation - 13th bday
Awesome they brought birthday dessert
The food is OK, but far overpriced for what you get. $16 for three tacos! We were there on a Friday night, but it wasn't overly crowded...yet the service was slow. We were celebrating a birthday, and saw ice cream tacos coming out with candles in them for others; even though we notified our server, we did not get anything celebratory.
Food was cold when served. Table serve had too many tables. Ordered glass of red wine—was oxidized. The replacement glass of a different varietal was also oxidized. Was hard to get service to order a drink & hors d’oeuvres on patio while waiting for table for dinner. So I went to bar and placed my own order. Not a good experience! Has really gone downhill.
Had another wonderful dinner at Puesto's. Delicious tacos, especially the steak, and loved the guac.
This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at Puesto. It took over 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken. We had to be moved to a different table due to rain. This wouldn’t have been a problem had that not taken another 20 minutes. The staff couldn’t figure out if they should move umbrellas over to our table and fumbled around with that before apparently deciding moving us to a table under an umbrella that was already set up was a better idea. The three people in my party ordered the exact same thing as in we each ordered the same two tacos. However, they got our order incorrect not once, but twice. Very disappointing.
The staff was enjoyable and the food was delicious!
Puesto did an outstanding job for our larger group. Would highly recommend for high quality of the food and professional servers.
Decent food, but nothing spectacular. The server was nice, but young and inattentive. Overall, pleasant experience.
Delicious tacos and margaritas! Avocado margarita, filet taco, and verduras taco were favorites. Margaritas are fresh - no sour mix in sight. Sides of rice and beans were very tasty so don’t fill up on the awesome chips and salsa! We came for our honeymoon and they treated us to a special sipping tequila. Highly recommend!
Great food even with a limited menu. The tacos were delicious and my favorite was the steak with the portabella mushroom a close second.
Well to start the tacos were amazing. The cocktails and tequilas picked for these dishes were good as well. I’m not a cheap person when I go out for dinner and drinks but to pay $100+ for two people is a bit much for tacos. All we ordered for our dinner was 3 tacos each an app and one cocktail each. I’m coming from Los Angeles where you can go get award winning tacos and cocktails at a modern Mexican restaurant for half the price but I guess it’s always about location location.
Outstanding outing. Samantha was amazing!
Appreciate that Puesto can accommodate gluten free requests, thanks!
My wife and I eat here every time we are in San Diego. Love the food and great service!
Forgot to put our order in. Then gave us incorrect order. Awful!
Generally good food but a bit pricey - to pay 7 dollars for a taco seems high especially when a little over-cooked (e.g., pulpo)....That said corn is delicious as is the mexican fruit plate.
This was a Birthday Lunch(I put this on my reservation), we had reservations and waited 15-20 min to be seated, even though there were many tables. My drink took a long time to arrive and it was about 35 min after our reservation time that we got chips and waters. We ordered a corn appetizer which they forgot to bring out, the Beef Tostadas had so many Serrano Chile’s that it was inedible. The taco plate I had was just okay. The Chicken Pastor was completely saturated and covered my entire hand and dripped red sauce down my arm-New experience. The Carnitas taco was super dry and hard to eat, basically a huge hunk of pork and the Chicken Tomatillo one I had to ask for Sour Cream because it was a big dry piece of chicken in a tort Orioles. No flavor, not great for almost $20/taco plate with no beans or rice. In spite of choosing this place for my birthday they didn’t acknowledge it nor bring us any dessert or sing, etc. I have been looking forward to coming to celebrate for weeks.
This place is great and the food is delicious. It’s more of a family place. The drinks are tasty.
Took my family, including kids 5-11, here for lunch following the Holiday Bowl Parade. We were seated immediately but at an outside table (55 degrees and threat of rain). We opted to wait a bit longer for an inside table. I feel they should ask if you want to be outside, not just assume it’ll be fine. Inside table was still super cold as they had the 2 story front doors wide open along with 3 other doors. Yes, it’s San Diego, but 55 is too cold for open doors. Had to wrap my daughter in a blanket we happened to have on hand.
Service was initially good, but fell apart as the restaurant filled. Food came quickly, but they were a bit confused about our order. Told us the made an extra kids meal by mistake? Lost in translation, I suppose, as they really meant they included an extra kids taco by accident.
Food was tasty, but not worth the price tag. Plus the extra 4% surcharge for kitchen staff. With the price point of the meals ($17 for three tacos, no beans, no rice, no garnish) a surcharge seemed excessive.
I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return. It’s likely a lovely place for some, but just not a good fit for us.
