first time, will be back food good and service enjoyed hamburger for brunch
Nice place to have breakfast before the Saints game. Wait staff was very nice and attentive.
Classic breakfast and a side of grits is a great Brunch meal
The service was terrible and took almost an hour to get our food. The food was good once it arrived but the long wait on drinks and food made it a bummer overall.
This was our first visit, and it was a great decision. Nice atmosphere, great pancakes, and good price.
Disappointed at best.
The wait is a little longer than normal. The reason is they serve the hotel and bar. The food really good, worth the wait !
Worst service I have had in a very long time. For the cost of their food, there’s no excuse for bad service. The food was just ok. Nothing to write home about.
PS was a perfectly nice dinner, but not one I'll be talking about months from now. I might have been in a mood though, my wife had the same entree and loved it. Appetizers and cocktails were solid and they were accommodating to my food allergies. All in all, good, but it's a really competitive food scene out here :P
We found Public Service at the last minute on Open Table, since our Plan A restaurant was at least an hour wait. Yet this turned out to be a hidden gem. We loved the food (best burger I have eaten in a long time), the service was prompt, and the venue was beautiful with high ceilings and stylish lighting. I would definitely recommend Public Service.
My family ate here on Christmas. The food was amazing and the staff and service were on point. I would highly recommend this place.
The food and service were both incredible. They took very good care of me and my lactose intolerance even with a special, curated Christmas Day menu.
Service was excellent! Food was incredible! Will recommend
This restaurant has the best customer service in New Orleans. The food was top notch and even though I only wanted one item from their prix fixe, they accommodated my request. The restaurant wasn’t too loud Nd the staff were very attentive. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.
The food was amazing. The Bloody Mary was super tasty and portions were great. The hostess had to act as our waitress but she was lovely. Our food came out at different times and took a while but manager was kind and handled issue. I would definitely go back and the food was worth the wait.
Food great it took 2 hr to get served wrong items brought to table .. waitress was awesome the management is terrible.
Ate brunch before the Saints game then stopped in at the bar after the Saints game. Quiet for breakfast but of course, after a Win over The Steelers, a little more boisterous in the bar. Great atmosphere and great service
Everything was great!
We’ll be back.
A little pricey for the items... appetizer was overpriced for what was given. The business lunch special of shrimp creole was too much tomato, very acidic. I am a local and it just was not up to par. Needed a little butter and a pinch of sugar to be authentic. The restaurant was a great atmosphere, and the wait staff was great. I will come there again and try something else.
The location was great and the facility was neat, I liked the homage to the building’s history. Unfortunately the food and service were mediocre. It was not my worst experience and far from the best, it’s just a place that you will forget.
Delicious meal in a relaxing location. Wonderful renovation. Seafood gumbo and ceviche were wonderful. Reveillon menu offered a nice selection of food.
Loved it. Best quiet dinner I’ve had in a long time!
Average need to pay attention to detail food preparation average
Great atmosphere with energetic crowd. Cocktails were excellent, but very disappointed with the food.
Go for the Debris Mac 'N Cheese, stay for the Public Burger and Public Chicken! Small'ish beer selection, but several styles were represented and I appreciated that many were local.
Great brunch spot and perfect location connected to the NOPSI hotel. Loved it
Thanksgiving Dinner was a total bomb at Public Service, the servers were not attentive, they were not professional, they did not check back to see if all of our table received their dishes. I had to flag the server assigned to our table to check on the status of my salad, which arrived 20 minutes after my son, and husband received their salads.
My husband ordered the Turkey Dinner, it was served colder than room temperature, he sent it back, and it returned at room temperature. I ordered the filet mignon, it was cooked perfectly, but was cold, and dry.
The deserts were tiny portions, I laughed when they arrived at our table. The worst experience ever! I cannot recommend this establishment.
It was my birthday and I wanted to try the Thanksgiving special menu. It was great because there were several options, one for me for the traditional meal and another for my husband who preferred a steak. They also had vegetarian options. Each course was flavorful and delicious. Tommy, our server, was friendly and he made my birthday special.
My girlfriend and I had Thanksgiving dinner at Public Service. We had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and the portobello mushroom dimner. The traditional dimner was outstanding. It was one of the best meals I've ever had in New Orleans, and I've eaten at most of the major. and many minor, restaurants in the city. The portobello was good, but not as tasty as the traditional dinner components. The custom crafted cocktails were excellent. The service was very good, and the manager visited each table to ask diners about their experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I enjoyed the whole experience. the food was outstanding, service friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back.
Desperately seeking breakfast on Thanksgiving morning we ended up here at Public Service. Glad we did! Ended up having a great breakfast- really good coffee and Bloody Marys, two of us had the boudin and grits bowls which were so on point, another had eggs Benedict which were really good and one had avocado toast with some quick marinated tomatoes that will now be a staple in my household (they gave us the recipe) Not to be missed is the bread basket - an assortment of grilled sweet breads that y’all may just fight over. The service was really good - quick on the coffee refills and very friendly. It’s on our list now for our regular rotation!
Very good food in a cool atmosphere in a beautiful historic building
Went for brunch and enjoyed it very much. Had the Debris Sandwich which was delicious! My co-diners all had breakfast and all liked theirs as well - they raved about the grits. The place is quite pretty and was lively when we where there. My only criticism was the service was on the slows side. While our server was pleasant and professional, it took a while to order. Food did come out quickly once we were able to order. All in all, it was a good experience and I would go back.
Some people in our party said the food was great but two of us had Cauliflower Tagliatele and that was not so great. Kind of a big mild spice-less mush. Inoffensive but nothing great and little texture. The waiter seemed rather clueless and took forever.
The food was great but the service was disorganized. Courses came out at different times and there was no rhythm to the service.
Very friendly staff. Restaurant is beautiful. The food was good but not exceptional. Portions are small for the price we paid. Overall, it was just okay.
Restaurant is really nice but the service was average. The server actually came across like he did not want to be there. I had the eggs benedict which was nothing to write home about. I could have gotten the same quality of food at a chain breakfast joint.
We walked to Public Service from our hotel while we were in town for a wedding, and it was fantastic. Great service, beautiful restaurant, serious comfort food. This restaurant is attached to the NOPSI Hotel, which means guests can charge meals to their room for added convenience.
