   The most memorable aspect of the public is how bad the service is. The food is edible and I would only go back to dine at the bar. The drinks were the only aspect of our meal of that showed competence. It's on a level of awful that you rarely see in New York City just when you travel. They're nice people but the place was empty and everyone is just lost like they had a really late night. We were chill about it as we were going to the museum around the corner but there's far better options within walking distance. Definitely not up to Schrager standards.

   It was my cousin’s birthday. We had reservations someplace else but I decided to cancel when I read that this place was associated with Jean Georges... we were there on time. Were kept almost an hour at the bar with a bartender that either was exhausted or terribly hungover. Our waiter was serving half the restaurant and another waiter the other half, our drinks were delivered late and to the wrong client. We had to go to the bar 3 times to ask what was happening. The cheese fried appetizer was a joke, please remove it. The truffle pizza was good after a considerable amount of time my omelette arrived and I had to return it. An omelette on an airplane looks better. Too bad I can’t show the picture. Waste of time, money and I will never come back. The manager apologized but it was too late. Btw... NYT rated them with 1 star. Take your name out of this place Jean Georges. Actually I found a way to place the photo. This is how my omelette was served

   Needs a lot of work, improvement... service and food wise... the venue has potential ... but please train your staff!

   mostly the service could have been better not enough attention to the details like clearing plates which leaves an informal impression. the pizza was perfect and the space is sexy. music in background was eclectic and fun. the nearby upstairs lounge and hotel bars are gorgeous maybe for a cocktail after dinner. my experience with abc kitchen the prior evening was flawless by comparison in terms of service and a similar vibe minus the convenience of additional bar lounge venues upstairs that the Public hotel offers

   great pizza and burgers very comfortable dining, manager came over several times to check on our party. Nice touch always to be recognized.
