Prime: An American Kitchen & Bar, Huntington, NY Ratings and Reviews
beautiful scenery - very well designed - I often dine at the Prime in Stamford Ct but my first time in the Prime in Huntington - Went there for Sunday Brunch - Ambiance, surroundings, service top of the line - 10+
A bit underwhelmed at the brunch menu - my pancakes over done & dry- bacon over cooked
one of my brunch guests had the shrimp brunch platter - came with a ton of lettuce and only 3 shrimp ! - really ? However my oyster appetizer were to die for ! amazing !
My previous experience at the Stamford Ct Prime locations always been for dinner and the meals have been top rate - I am certain the dinners in the Prime Huntington are equally as amazing
Would def come again for lunch or dinner but probably stay away from the Brunch Menu
Still very upbeat on this place
I was excited to take my son to Prime to celebrate his birthday after having gone there last summer with my wife where we had the most awesome dining and service experience. However, on this occasion, while the food was awesome, the service was less than desirable. Specifically the service or lack thereof received from our server. He was inattentive, impersonable, curt and exasperated in his esponses and demeanor to our questions. He lacked knowledge of the menu and offered no suggestions when asked about the wine menu. Not once did he come by during our meal to ensure that we didn't need anything and that everything was okay. I was honestly very disappointed as it was not what I expected and left me wondering if I should come back or recommend Prime to others.
My husband and I love steak houses but never got the chance to try Prime. I was pleasantly surprised my the grand entrance and beautiful decor as we walked in. It was a Wednesday night so we ordered the price fix which was duck. I’m not a duck person but it was delicious!! The best part of the night was the service from Joe. He made u feel that u came here for years, he was very knowledgeable about the menu and what wines pair nicely with food. We really had a great time trying different foods with the different pairings and got an education too!! Thanks Joe!!
First time here. We had reservations and arrived a few minutes early. We were shown to our table right on time. Our server, Matthew M informed us of all the specials that were available then took our drink order. The drinks came to the table very quickly.Started with the soup of the day, pumpkin. It was very hearty and delicious as well. I had a NY Strip and my wife had the Filet Mignon. Both were cooked to our request. We ordered the mac and cheese and asparagus as sides. The mac and cheese was very creamy and cheesy. The asparagus, although cooked correctly, could have been a bit softer as that's the way we like it. I'm sure if we'd asked, it would have been taken care of. That's the impression I had of this place. All you have to do is ask. Matthew was a very attentive server. Unfortunately I cannot write about the dessert because we had to pass. The dinner was very filling. Next time we go (and there will be a next time) we'll skip the appetizer and go for the dessert. Their menu look very appealing.
Prime (as what seems to be always) did not disappoint. Service not only met but exceeded our expectations. The oysters were top notch, sushi ridiculous and fresh and the steaks(rib Steak Cajun and porterhouse for Two) put everything over the top. There were zero errors with anything other than being given the incorrect tequila which was quickly rectified with a replacement. Non f@&king issue. Great service, ambiance and company. Can not wait to come back. Thank you.
Been to many different restaurants in nyc and Long Island. Peter Luger’s is our favorite steak place so we should have stuck with that.
The atmosphere and ambiance are great at prime. As is the bar and drinks. Service was also good. It fell short on the most important part of a Restaurant.... the food.
I’m not a harsh critic and don’t write reviews unless I’m compelled to for good or bad.
The crab cake was fine. Burrata Salad less than good.
The steak was cooked perfectly but the cut and flavor were nothing special.
I ordered an”enhancement” of onions and Sriracha butter which I assumed would be melted on the steak with onions on top. Instead I got a disk of hard flavored butter and a bowl of thin onion rings 👎🏻.
The sweet potato fries were fine.
The creamed spinach was the worst I’ve ever had from a steak place. Was over creamy and salty. Tasted more like spinach dip then a side vegetable.
We skipped on dessert but the Oreo dusted mousse balls they gave us were very good.
Service was ok. Food was amazing. Cooked to perfection. Delicious. Didn’t like that we had to wait even with reservations. Didn’t like that we were pushed in a corner under the tarp covering the outside part of the restaurant. It was a special occasion with another couple and our first time there. We drove an hour to go there and didn’t appreciate waiting and not being in the main room. Will try again but will call to request a good table.
