This restaurant is a hidden gem!! We travel at least an hour to get here and the food is fantastic, the service is even better!!!
Great atmosphere and food! Nice staff! We now have a favorite restaurant when we visit our Davidson college student.
We always have a great meal here! Will be back again.
First and last meal there. Service was slow and very poor. Took 20 minutes just for a "Hello" and Is anyone waiting on you? 1 step away from waking out. Don't think about dinning outside after dark, you'll never be able to see what your eating... Or make sure your phone is fully charged so you have some light to even see the menu. I travel several times each year through Mooresville, too many better options, Skip this one!
Atmosphere was nice, service good, food was tasty and Margaritas were good. Prices were a little high. Overall it was a nice evening for our anniversary.
Great view on the lake. Freshly made guacamole at the table- yum! Drink special wasn't the greatest but waiter quickly replaced without hesitation. Great evening overall. Will return!
We are long time fans but once we moved away we seldom get the chance to eat here now.
The food is always beautiful and delicious. You have to get the guacamole made right at the table. We are outside -- a beautiful setting in good weather. We all shared a bite among our party of 6 and every dish was great.
Can't go wrong.
Excellent experience, will go again. Especially different for special occasions.
Good food, nice patio seating near the water and an attendant staff who were very friendly and professional.
Great food , fresh & seasoned perfectly. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 for Ambiance because there are some construction materials very near the outside seating area , detracting slightly from the view of the lake.
We enjoyed our visit to Prickly Pear. Food was very good and so was the service. We sat outside on the deck, and that was nice except for the table of children who were very noisy, and sitting beside us. Their parents were sitting at a table next to them, but didn't supervise them.
Worst service ever. This place keeps on going downhill. It was amazing when it was in the old mooresville church. Many famous dishes (blackbeen soup, spicy cheese dip, rolls with prickly pear butter, etc) are now gone.
Great food, great service. Always a favorite spot for lunch and dinner.
Food is marvelous! You won't be disappointed in any way! We can't say enough nice things about The Prickly Pear!
We always have a perfect dining experience here! Great service blended with unique flavors! We'll be back!
My wife and I have been to the Prickly Pear twice in the last month and have enjoyed dining there both times. Each visit was a for a different occasion and with different people and everyone enjoyed the meals we had. The food, drinks and atmosphere were very good as is the location that provides a very nice view of Lake Norman, all of which combine for a wonderful place for dinner!
Another delicious meal, exceptional service, and a great view! Great wine, appetizers (queso fundido & guacamole), & entrees (fajitas & seafood enchiladas 😋). Unfortunately, we had no room for dessert, which, no doubt, would have been delicious!
The food was good. The customer service was good. The view was great. The price however was very high. A good place occassionally but not every week.
Excellent food and service. Great appetizers! Love the view from the patio.
We were so disappointed... our server told us the chef had left for a little bit... would get us more if the regular salsa when he got back... we ordered and the food took at least 45 mins .... our service was decent... food was average... but there might have only been 5 tables while we were there. We had guest from out of town and we asked to eat outside... thinking lakeside dining would be a nice option for our guests....however... it looks like a construction site outside...and a couple of dogs without their owner just came meandering thru and using the bathroom in the grass on the other side of some rickity fencing they have around the dining area..... BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Will not recommend or return...I am an event planner... had heard good things but we obviously missed the good.....SORRY !
Great dining experience. Food was fantastic. Furniture outside is somewhat worn, but it's clean and the view makes up for it. Inside is very nice as well
We loved our first time at Prickly Pair for Father's Day. The weather was beautiful and we all enjoyed the food. We will be back.
Great food, great location, great drinks! I highly recommend this for great Mexican food.
Love it there... sometimes dont think to go... but very very good...
Staff very nice! We went on a Saturday night and didn't have to wait long for an outside table. View was lovely - worth the 40 min drive from South Charlotte. Menu was interesting - something for everyone. I had the Manchamanteles and my husband had the Osso Bucco, both were delicious. We will definitely be back this summer!
Once again we had an outstanding meal, from the guacamole prepared table-side to the flan and coffee for dessert! Everything was more than expected. We will continue to return!!
Friendly staff, enjoyable atmosphere, and a comfortable waterfront seating on a beautiful spring evening. They were well versed in gluten free options and were very willing to accommodate to avoid cross contamination. I brought my own chips, and they were understanding and helpful. The guacamole prepared table-side and the classic margarita were delicious. Although they were flexible in adapting menu items, the menu should include specific vegetarian options. Adding vegetarian entrees would significantly enhance the menu. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend and look forward to returning in the future.
My husband ordered the filet atop a potato pancake with shrimp diablo. I ordered the lamb shank in a ancho-chocolate mole. Both were very good, but have to say I liked my husband's dish better. Next time I'll order that.
Awesome place to eat ! Food was delicious and loved sitting right on the water!
Great food! Great Ambiance! Great Service!
Me and my boyfriend came for prom and we loved it, though it did seem like our waiter couldn't have the multiple tables that were given to him. It took him a very long time to do one task for one table when it could've been done at once! Other than that it was great!!
Good food, good service but ran out of avocados for guacamole. It's a Mexican restaurant.....kind of a staple for Mexican dishes. 😕
Great place, great food, great service!
Went there for a special occasion. Experienced incredibly slow service and mediocre food. For at least 15 minutes upon arrival, we weren't even introduced to our waiter.
The staff was professional but it was obvious they were struggling to keep pace with the volume. We weren't in a rush and had an excellent time.
Always a treat. Service is wonderful as well as the meal :)
Excellent Mother's Day Brunch Buffet! The food was fresh, authentic and delicious! Especially the marinated roast. The dessert bar could have had more options, skip the petit fours next time.
The patio is lovely. I wish they had things a little more organized for Mother's Day brunch. They only had a buffet option, which is not ideal since we eat very small portions, but we were okay with it. The waiter told us it was $19.95 per person, but the bill reflected $26.95 per person. We had their special mango mimosa which neither of us cared for so we asked for regular ones. I assumed the waiter would be proactive and take off the bill because of the other error with the buffet prices but he did not. I did not even mention the higher buffet price but did ask for them to take off the first round of mimosas, and he acted like it was such an inconvenience. Was not a good experience for my mother and I on her special day; $80 for a less than par brunch seemed like a waste of my money. I could have taken her out to our favorite restaurant on any other day and spent that for great martinis and shared a salmon meal.
It's just ok. Not a place I crave to go back to weekly.
