Established in 2005 in a beautiful historic building in Old Montreal. An ideal spot for romantic dinners, business meetings, casual encounters, birthdays and other special events. Lunch 3 course starting at $25. Evening 3 course starting at $34. Regular à la carte options also available. Celebrating 20 years this year!! We also have a beautiful terrace in the summer.
Our menu offers a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes including fresh fish, seafood and a choice of grilled specialties including steak and rack of lamb. Our extensive wine list has many imported wines at affordable prices. We also have a wide variety of cocktails and a few signature cocktails.

Terrible expérience. We waited over an hour and a half for our main course and over an hour for our entrées which is unheard of for supposed decent restaurants. The service was also very poor. We felt unattended to. Water refills were slow, for example. As for the food, it was shameful. It was high school cafeteria level food. The portions were on the smaller side.

You reserved for 6 people at 7:30pm. Only 2 of you showed up at 7:30 and the other 4 after 8pm. You took your time to order. By the time the orders went into the kitchen, we were very busy. We space out our reservations so that the kitchen does not get overloaded. If you had of arrived at the time of your reservation and placed your orders then, there would not have been such a delay. Your appetizers took maybe 25 minutes and the main courses almost one hour. All of you ate all of your food. Then at the end you all complained and the owner came to see you and despite you not respecting your reservation time she still apologized for the delay and offered all of you 25% off your meals. We also didn't charge for an extra dessert and soft drink. Next time please go to a different restaurant.

We had a very nice dinner. Servers were polite and professional. Food was very good. Place was very rustic, in an old building.

Porto Mar is a fantastic spot! The food is delicious, and their cocktails are amazing. The friendly service makes it a relaxed and comfortable experience, with a touch of elegance thanks to the building style that brings back the charm of Old Montreal.

We ate here one night and came back with friends the next night. Simple, well prepared food, great drinks, a good house wine, easy service. It's on our list for the next time we're in Montreal.

Enjoyed appetizers and meals from the specials menu, which came with dessert and coffee included. Our seafood selections were well prepared, especially the smoked salmon steak, and the house cocktails were delightful.

Fish of the day was excellently prepared and the house wines were wonderful. Really, no bad seat in the entire place.

A very nice, clean Portuguese restaurant in Old Montréal. Atmosphere nice, food delicious and all wine is Portuguese. Our waitress recommended wine and it was great.

I had the tuna, which was very well done, even overcooked for my taste. I'm used to have tuna steaks that are raw in the center. Vegetables were ok, with an oily texture. Wine selection is very good, and service was friendly and efficient.
