Had a fantastic dinner with my friends. Food and drinks were amaze! 5 stars
Really good meal. Thought the Berkshire pork chop was tougher than it should be and the rib-eye was on the rare side of medium rare despite ordering it medium. Sides and desert were outstanding.
Solid addition to the CS lineup. Good steaks and excellent sides.
I would recommend, and all ready have, that they come to Porters for the ambience; I t’s beautiful. They should sit at the bar and have a drink and an appetizer.
My party had a wedge salad, excellent, the lobster bisque, didn’t finish it (too tomatoey), the badass Mac and cheese, gritty, and finally one of their special menu item steaks. I was surprised most be the steak, because Porter prides itself on the MEAT. It was cooked incorrectly when it was served and had to be returned. The meat was tough with no flavor (needed some salt). I ordered the creamy horseradish to give it some kick; it did help. The horseradish sauce was so thin; consistency of water.
This was my first time here and I wanted to like it, I was surprised when we walked in on a Friday night at 9:30 and the place was dead.
Excellent experience. Sharp interior, we asked for a quiet table and the arranged it perfectly. Great server and fish may have been the best I have ever had.
We love Porter's every time we come! Service, food & atmosphere are always consistent. One of our favorite places to celebrate a special occasion, date night or just appetizers & drinks at the bar
Love the atmosphere at Porters. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly and knowledgable. Great wine selection. Looking forward to our next adventure at Porters.
Nice experience. food very good. only slight issue: wait staff overwhelming and then seemed to hurry us at the end...but not a big issue
The service was great and the food was delicious. This is definitely an expensive restaurant, but they have some moderately priced alternatives as well. Surprisingly good fish options for central Texas. Only negative was that it was crowded and the dining room was pretty cramped, even on a Wednesday night, which is great for them but diminished the ambience slightly.
Never had a steak cook so perfectly, the crust was amazing
Amazing as always. We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints.
Great food & service, overpriced and loud. The online menu doesn't lists prices. If we'd have known the filet are $40, then each side $8-12, and a glass of regular beer at $11, we'd have gone somewhere else. These are excessive prices. Also, it's hard to find Porters, much less park in the area. We drove in circles trying to figure it out, called and girl who answered couldn't tell us which Century Square building they are in. Turns out, they are between the George hotel and a sweet place.
Porter’s continues to knock it out of the park with food quality and service unparalleled in the Brazos Valley. Great work Chuck and team!!
Porter's was delicious! The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was awesome! The filet was cooked to perfection and so tender, I almost didn't need a knife! We also loved the quail legs and mac and cheese. Look forward to our next visit!
Service was a bit slow but otherwise everything was excellent.
Food came out cold and just wasn’t good. Way overpriced......should have just gone to a chain steak house instead. Will never go back.
Delicious steaks & wine. Try the yummy steakhouse queso! I had some great fish. Wonderful place to take your Aggie kid for a treat.
Steaks were underdone.... so were the steaks for the folks next to us.
We usually go to The Republic but wanted to try this to see how it compares. It doesn’t compare. First of all when we got there for our reservations they had had a fire of some sort and had no idea when they would be back open. They can’t help that except for that they said they would call when the health department cleared them to open back up in maybe an hour but it could be longer. They never called. I called them a hour later and they said oh yes they were back open. 🤔 It’s funny they said they would call to let us know but didn’t. The food, for the most part, isn’t good at all. The steak and Mac and cheese were so salty. The broccoli was awful. It wasn’t hardly cooked at all and tasted like lemon. Not a hint of lemon, but like biting into a lemon wedge. We didn’t eat but one bite each and when we told the waitress she just said she liked it and was sorry we didn’t. I had the baked chicken and it was actually really good. The salads were just ok. The cornbread was good. Overall the food and service was poor and we will not be back.
Steak was WAY too salty. The manager did come by,but we were halfway into our food. It was too late to recover. The sides were good. And the Drinks Were Great!
We have eaten there three times and always satisfied, but this time my husband and I had filet's they were both way over done and dry. Everything thing else we ordered was awesome though.
Great Valentines dinner with friends this is our go to place.
Overall good experience with stellar service. Steaks were a bit over and undercooked. Will give it another shot in the future.
We had an early 5:30pm reservation as booking appeared busy being Valentine’s Day. They sat us in a small room 25 feet from the kitchen expo line. We asked to be sat against the wall a little further from the noise but were told they had specific tables reserved as they were so busy. The entire meal there were only three tables filled in our “sideshow” room so there was no reason to deny our request. We got the Valentines Special which was wedge salad, a porterhouse that we shared, two sides and a desert. The bread was cornbread which was good. We got fried quail legs in a sweet sauce which were good. The salad was simple and ok but the blue cheese dressing was a little odd. The sides were terrible. The veg hash was LARGE chunks of root vegetables that were undercooked and just bad. The Mac and cheese was extremely bland with no cheese flavor and came off as slimy. We had two bites of each side and gave up on them. The steak was a decent cut and cooked medium rare but a little over seasoned and drowned in butter. It was edible but below average compared to most high end steak restaurants and came off as a little tough. The steak has no depth of flavor you would normally experience at a good steak restaurant. I felt like asking for sauce but felt it wasn’t worth the conversation. They served it on one plate and brought a second empty plate for you to make a plate for your valentine which was odd for what is billed as a 4 star restaurant. We ate a quarter of the steak and were tired of it. The lava cake which we shared was lava cake. They don’t have much to choose from in the desert column and we felt the menu was limited in most categories. With tip and valet we spent $160. Most any restaurant would have been better and for a higher end place it was just bad. We were very disappointed and won’t be going back.
Good for nice dates. Amazing food, though prices are fairly high.
I book Porter's for most business meals. It's a nice place to impress business associates. The atmosphere is quiet and the food is delicious. I can always depend on this restaurant to live up to a high standard. I frequent Porter's because I know that I can depend on this restaurant to always have good food. I highly recommend.
Overall great meal. Chef’s veggie off the menu creation was underwhelming. It is a shame that you do not have standard vegetarian options on your menu. It would appear that you had such an option in older menus (lemon pasta dish) yet that could not be resurrected currently.
Took some friends of ours for a birthday dinner and had a great time. The food was great, and drinks even better. Brandon did a great job!
One of my favorite places to eat. Our server we outstanding. Can not wait to go back!
This restaurant is a welcome addition to the Bryan/College Station, Texas region. The setting is tasteful and the food, carefully edited, was tasty.
The steak was fabulous. Some dishes too spicy. No baked potato available. The broccolini was very good, but glad we told them to hold the peppers. Would rather have French or sourdough bread than cornbread. Wedge salad was very good.
They were a little busy, so our waiter was a little rushed through out the night.
We loved the steaks. Very good and tender. The fried green tomatoes were not good and were delayed. Waiter seemed preoccupied. Wrong appetizer, delays in orders and drinks and our separate bills ( we were offered) were wrong took 30 minutes to correct. Maybe okay if dining as two or three but not good for groups. Too complicated for the Waite staff to handle.
Went with a group of 6; three of us got out meals and the other three had to wait maybe 3-5 minutes; also ordered a shot of Stoli to go with my raw oysters; never arrived (wasn’t charged); actually oysters were great and briny; lamb shank also was good
We appreciated the General Manager’s wine and whisky recommendations without breaking the bank. Only negative was the meats were underdone and had to be sent back. They cook it rare no matter how you order it.
Great brunch menu, you won’t find anything like it around town. Big city menu in a small town. The pork belly hash and shrimp with grits were delicious. The service was excellent. We will definitely be going back.
We sent several things back. Soup wasn’t hot. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail didn’t smell fresh.
