Is a great place for a high quality steak. Starters, sides and drinks are good, too.
We enjoy Porters and make a point to dine whenever we’re in town. Everything is outstanding-
We enjoyed the restaurant all meals were good and the Mac and cheese was my favorite
Would definitely go again and recommend to others
Excellent steak, but other entrees, sides, cocktails, and deserts were not good enough for the price.
Amazing meal start to finish!
Amazing service, amazing food - excellence achieved!
Great steaks and service!
The service is always good at Porters and we love the ambiance. Chuck the owner is always engaged with the customers. The food is typically very good, but this time we got talked into ordering the dry aged bone in filet... for $69. For the price i was expecting melt in your moth awesome... well it was just ok. Flavor was even a little off - not sure if it was the rub or dry age. But it really wasn't very good and was not especially tender? So for the price it was simply a rip-off.
Delicious food, inventive wines by the glass, comfortable quiet seating but not stuffy at all - highly recommend when visiting CStat - thank you Mr Scott our excellent service
I was there for lunch so there was a limited choice, however I found very good food and very good service.
Fabulous and fun dining experience when we were in town for game day weekend staying at the George. Juan was an amazing waiter and Chuck was a great host and Justin knowledgeable on wine selections. We went back the next night and had an equally great evening!!! We’ll be back!!!!
If you're in Century Square this is a nice place to get dinner. Veritas is better for fish, and the Republic is better for steak. Pricing seemed similar to the Republic.
I would like to go back again not at Brunch because we all had differnet issues with our meal as far as meeting our expectations. I had the Barbacoa enchiladas which were delicious but they had no picante sauce just Tabasco which in Texas you want Mexican hot sauce not Tabasco. My husband had the Fried Ribeye which he said was okay but a very thin cut. My son and his girlfriend had the quail sandwhich which had a nice presentation but the whole fried bird was on top of open face sandwich and difficult to eat.
The dessert was good and the spicy Bloody Mary was yummy. We will try for dinner sometime
We sat outside on a somewhat hot day due to having our pet with us. I was not prepared for the level of fine service and food we were going to receive. OMG-we had the best service ever and the brunch menu was fabulous. The fried quail was an absolute showstopper along with the cheesy grits and beautiful greens that made for possibly the best brunch ever. I was not familiar with Porter's before. I will be back!
Excellent service, Kyle remembered us from our very first visit which was 6 weeks ago! What a very nice young man. He was very responsive to our needs and checked in with us often but not obtrusive. Food was amazing, menu changed a little, they removed a few items we really enjoyed before. We will be back.
Excellent! Food was wonderful. Service outstanding. Quiet enough to talk across the table. Nice! Special evening because ambience, food and service above any I’ve experienced locally. Waitress was fantastic! I recommend this restaurant above any in Bryan/College Station, TX. area.
The quality of this meal did not meet our expectations. We have eaten there several times and enjoyed it much better. The new menu just does not match the previous ones.
Every thing from the Bar Tenders,Waiter Staff, and the people eating there are very friendly. The Food is the best!
Super good food and vibe
The food was great and the service superb! They made a special occasion feel really special!
It was the perfect place to celebrate Aggie Ring Day with the entire family!
This was the second time we’ve been. The service and atmosphere has been outstanding both times, really the reason we went back. The food is good, but not worth what you pay in comparison to other steak houses in town. They were out of the cuts that we wanted as well as the bottle of wine we were wanting, but the staff was able to provide recommendations on comparable alternatives. Again, the staff/service is why we went back!
Superb! Great location for a business meal. Great cocktails and even better food with a solid wine list.
This was our second time to visit the restaurant. The food was good and we did enjoy that aspect. We were just disappointed that they were completely unwilling to help us be seated near friends of ours that had a reservation at the same time. There were several open tables (one that would have accommodated our group) that remained unused throughout the time we were there. They had several excuses for why they couldn’t move us- but I feel a restaurant of this caliber should be willing to make concessions and move people to accommodate a request. Disappointing that we could not sit near our friends. It will definitely make us think twice before booking again.
Always enjoy Porter's, Chuck is a good host. Found it strange that there was no salt or pepper available unless you asked. No cracked pepper offered. Steak was great. Keep up the good work.
I have dined at Porter's four times in the last two months. Always enjoyable. The food is excellent. I especially like the Rib eye and the NY Strip. The sides are all good, with the Brussels sprouts, mac & cheese and whipped potatoes at the top of my list. I always get the arugula salad, and of course, can't help eating all of the delicious cornbread. Chuck is the GM, and is a constant, steadying presence in the restaurant. I highly recommend Porter's.
Porters is a pleasant place to go for dinner or take an out-of-town visitor. The food is good, although some dishes (chicken) can be dry, and the vegetables suffer from too much oil. The service is a bit too attentive (a table does not have to be constantly asked if everything is okay). We felt rushed in our dinner, as the server removed plates as people finished, almost like a race. We might go back, but it is not top on our list.
Food was very good - our group had salmon, scallops, steak (and we loved the taco appetizer). Our server Brandon was very personable and helpful
This will be our “go to” for Brunch when we are in College Station visiting our student. Great food and service, look forward to coming back!
Excellent choice for my daughter's birthday lunch this past weekend! Please note they do not have their full menu available at lunch. We got lucky and asked if she could get a steak since the lunch menu had not one steak on it. Will be back for sure thank you!
Very happy with the food and service we received at Porters. Favorite dishes were the burrata salad and bone-in fillet. We will definitely be back next time we visit College Station!
My group was a business meeting to meet with a potential candidate. Everything, other than the hostess not having the right name on the reservation (This was not her fault. Open Table did not pass on the information in the comments), was outstanding. Thank you!!!
Food and atmosphere were great. Katelyn was a great waitress. Mgmt checked on us more than once to make sure we were taken care of.
The waiter had a hard time keeping up with what we ordered. The food was a bit overpriced for the portion size.
The server was awesome and friendly and made a good first impression. We expect more from the quality of food since its our first time here in porters however, sad to say it didnt leave a wow factor considering its a little bit pricey. I had the dry aged beef with pineapple rice and my partner had crab and salmon with mac n cheese. The rice needed to be a little softer and beef needed a little salt or it would be nicer if it comes with a free sauce. The rest was tasty and has a homy taste.
Wait staff was great along with bartenders. The food was outstanding. Can not wait to go back.
Met family coming in from Austin and Houston before Aggie Football Game. Had amazing food, attentive service, and good wine and tequila selection. Great place to finally have in College Station.
Not much flavor / seasoning on the Ribeye Steak. Beer was not cold enough for consumption.
Great food, excellent service, the staff was very knowledgeable about and sensitive to food allergies. Overall this was probably the best dining experience sine I lived in Charleston.
Everyone at this restaurant aim to please and the day we went was no exception. Ambiance was nice and the service was amazing. It is a nice place to sit and talk, the food was mouth watering, not much more you can ask for. We will be visiting this place more often for our special evenings.
