   We asked for a booth, and the host said he was going to put us in at table instead, with no explanation. We saw multiple booths, open. Possibly there was a shortage of wait staff, though no shortage of hosts. At least five of them were standing at the check-in when we walked in. It took a while to get service, but once the waiter came, he was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Ordered a glass of wine which was lesser quality than expected. The soup was hot but the flavor was strange. Walleye entrée was good, the braised short ribs were very dried out. Service somewhat slow and hard to find our waiter after he first came to the table. We had to track him down for an issue with our bill. When he was available, he was very accommodating and friendly. We both agreed it was okay but not worth going back anytime soon.

   Food was really great. The sausage and apricot chutney flatbread pizza was much much better than it sounds. Highly recommend it.

   The food and service were excellent, as always. My only issue was that the beer taps were not working. I usually don’t care for canned beer, but it was just fine. We had a very early reservation so it was not particularly crowded or noisy. I felt our server was very busy even that early so maybe they need more help.

   Disappointing experience overall, we were sat in the bar area with a kitchen view. Watched some of our food sit out for 10-25 mins, after waiting 35+ mins we decided to leave. Wasn’t about to pay $20 for a salad that had just sat on the counter for 25 mins. First bad experience here but was really disheartening and all 4 of us left disappointed.

   Food was quite decent but not up to the standard I would expect for a $45 steak. I ordered the New York Strip, which was flavorful but underdone. Potatoes were lukewarm and over salted and asparagus was charred. Server was inexperienced but attentive and friendly. Our table in the back of the (weatherized) indoor/outdoor annex was drafty and chilly, and the table itself was metal outdoor furniture style which felt odd. We asked to move indoors to a warmer area, but were told we would have to wait since “there were many reservations.” We had a reservation as well, so not sure why we were not seated indoors to begin with. Any restaurant can have an off night in the kitchen, but underwhelming food plus uncomfortable seating location put a damper on our date night. If we return, Will specifically request indoor seating during cold weather.

   We were a party of six, and I think everyone enjoyed our visit. My one regret, and it is no small thing, is that my salmon was over cooked. I did not get a chance to inquire about how well done this kitchen delivered. My order was taken from the waiter standing at the opposite end of our table. The dish itself was nicely prepared. However, if I return and order this dish again, I will request the fish be cooked medium rare, which most chefs recommend.

    Tuesday night's half price wine night rocks. The place was packed. We had the pork chop and the short ribs. The pork chop was incredible, short ribs were cold for some reason but tasty. Servers were rushed and doing their best.

    Waiter was not attentive My steak was not cooked to how I ordered it. And I sent it back to the kitchen. It took a long time to get it back and when it came back out to me it still wasn’t right. We won’t be back. We will choose Maxwells next time.

    We had supper here on Sat Sep 24th for our anniversary. I had the pork chop and it was excellent and my husband had the NY steak, also excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly, the service was quick and attentive.

    We wanted to have an outdoor dining experience and Porter Creek has the best patio in Fargo. The food was excellent (walleye and Napa salad) and our service was good. We tend to come back here when in Fargo for the consistent experience.

    We’ve come to realize Porter Creek is very hit or miss. Went with my 2 young daughters. Meals were slow to arrive. My salad was swimming in salad dressing and very sloppily presented. Our server was good—friendly and polite.

    The restaurant was very nice, clean and inviting. Our server, Grace I believe was great! She was knowledgeable and when i asked for a drink that was not on the menu she came back from the bar a few minutes later with a replacement suggestion that was good. Food was served fast, hot and was great!

    This was the perfect place to take one of our business suppliers out for supper recently. Their three-season room made it feel like we were outside while still not being exposed to the elements. As always, the food and service was fantastic.

    A great place to go with my family. My mom likes to be out of the sun without too much noise around her and they kindly accommodated. Wonderful service both this time and the other times I have been to the restaurant.

    The hangar steak was cooked beautifully, and the green beans with red pepper were the star of the show! We had a couple hiccups with service: 1) we went to the bar to wait for our table, and waited for the bartender to notice us. Several minutes passed and another couple came to the bar. A few minutes later the bartender went right to them. We waited while she chatted and took:filled their order, anthem another bartender came in and helped us; 2). The same thing happened in the dining room. We waited about 10 minutes without any initial contact, and watched as a table which was seated after us received water and waiter service. Eventually a waiter came by and said there were some communication issues that evening. Otherwise the meal was fine and the service (once we were noted), was very good!

    I enjoyed the duck and the small salad with field greens. My husband had the Caesar salad, which was good and the Walleye which was fine but unexpectedly deep fried. The cocktails were ok.

    Notes from open table weren't acknowledged. Food was GREAT except for the amount of time it took to arrive at the table, and the cook/quality of the filet (which arrived overdone twice, and tasted dry). The manager comped the steak which was so very nice considering it was barely touched at the end of the meal. We might have stayed for dessert but, having waited so long for the main to arrive (tables came and went around us), then the re-fired steak, we just wanted to get moving. The hangar steak was TERRIFIC with the beans and fingerling potatoes, and one party in our group had the duck and said it was one of the best he's had. One final comment on wait staff - our waitress was efficient but referred to the woman as "dear", which didn't seem appropriate considering she didn't know us and was decades our junior.

    This was my first time at Porter Creek, but I will definitely return! I had a good meal, reasonably priced the ambience was nice, it was a little loud but they were very busy, so you have to expect that. The only downside was the restaurant was kind of hard to see from the street and I almost drove right by it! Other than that it was a very good experience, I definitely recommend Porter Creek!
