Food took to king to arrive, order was wrong, and food was over cooked and tough
Not our first visit and definitely not our last. Our server was so kind, patient, and attentive.
Great food and great service.
Great menu, local dishes, and informative and helpful staff. Will definitely dine there next time in Lexington
Food was below average yet expensive. The server told us wrong on what was actually in the appetizer and we were very disappointed with it. When we questioned him about it, he said we misunderstood. We ordered 3 dishes and all of us were shocked at the taste verses the price. The place was basically empty, but our request to be seated outside was denied. The hostess staff was snooty. The decor was pretty and seemed very clean. In total it’s not worth the money, we won’t be back.
Outstanding dinner!!! We were passing through Lexington on a road trip & found this place on Open Table. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant....food and service was outstanding!
Such a cute atmosphere and great, quick service!
Wonderful service, food, and ambiance! We felt very safe during our whole experience!
The food is great, and its the perfect place to go with kids!
We had a lovely lunch here with my mom and my kids. Everything was made from scratch and tasty. The cold soup of the day was outstanding and perfectly refreshing on a hot day. I loved the special touches like the beautiful coloring map on the kids menu. Our server was great, and we will definitely be back!
Food was very over priced and not good at all. Poor beer selection and no draft beer
Our son was excited to have a child’s “foodie” experience. Great server and overall experience.
Great family birthday dinner. Its our favorite place in town when dining with kids.
Always love Poppy and Olive for a fantastic dinner with the family (kids included)!
Perfect place for a family dinner--big booth, delicious food--something for everyone. Thank you!
The environment and food was good. The server made a mistake on our order. Even though the mistake was relatively minor, the manager was very apologetic and was quick to resolve the issue.
Perfect for the kids. Great food for everyone! We had a fun night.
The Service when we went for lunch was pretty slow. Food was very good but wish it had come out quicker. Server was also slow to refill drinks.
Food is delicious, bonus points for being child friendly. Unfortunately the glacial pace of already sub-par service really ruined the night. A 2.5 hour dinner with a toddler just isn’t functional when it’s based entirely on ambivalent staff.
First time eating on the poppy and olive side of restaurant. Same menu, more casual and same delicious food! Dry rubbed wings are a must. Salmon is always on point. Mahi-mahi special was great! Always a solid meal and one of our favorite places to eat in Lexington.
Seabass was on point. Service was good, had to park pretty far away though.
We looked at the website before coming and my kids were excited about cool drawing sheets and play dough at the table, but neither was offered and eventually I asked for drawing sheets. My kids were definitely disappointed by the lack of play dough. We did love the char "fruit" erie! The food was good but all three of us adults thought our different entrees were overly salted.
Excellent setting, service and delicious food!
We really enjoyed our dinner! We brought our 1 year old and they were super accommodating. The food was delicious !
We have always had a wonderful dining experience at Poppy & Olive. I love you can get fine dining in a family friendly environment! This is just what Lexington needed! We love it!!
Look my 2 year old grandson for dinner... all good
Wonderful food from the appetizer and drinks, onto the main course (Marksbury Farm Pork Chop was the best I have ever had), and the berry cobbler was delicious.
Best place to get high-end food and take your kiddo
EVERY SINGLE BITE WAS DELICIOUS!!!
A delightful surprise. This will be one of our new favorite spots. Waitress was educated about food and very friendly. Atmosphere made me want to redecorate my own home! Great vibe.
The service was excellent. The food was very good. We will definitely be back.
The food, which I think is the same menu as Eppings in the same building, was excellent. Tomato soup was delicious and the chopped salad was perfectly dressed. Husband very pleased with the fish and chips. We definitely will be back.
Amazing for meeting my in laws with our 2 year old son!!
Enjoyed! Will return
Dinner was good as always and I really love to take guests here. Service was slow and spotty this evening. Additionally, the menu has been redone and I am bummed the chicken sandwich and burger are missing in action!
We loved Poppy and Olive! Char"fruit"erie appetizer was perfect for our young children and the kids menu was simple but delivered delicious food! Even though it was quite busy, we were seated immediately and our food was brought to us within minutes of ordering - very helpful with two busy children in tow. We will certainly return!
Delicious food and drinks. It wasn’t so busy that evening and so it was quiet for our 10 month old son. He loved the food too!
This was our first visit, the food was good but the service was NOT. I ordered an appetizer and the wrong one was brought out then I ordered dessert and it never arrived. Very disappointed.
Wonderful food and very nice environment to be able to take kids out for a real dinner and have them welcomed and catered to.
Our experience at Poppy & Olive started off pleasantly - my young kids were delighted with the coloring pages and playdough (not to mention the pint sized potty). The decor and ambiance were aesthetically pleasing and even calming. Then about 15-20 minutes in we were asked to switch tables to make room for a larger party...that didn't even show up for almost 45 minutes (as we were paying). It sounds trivial, but it was disruptive to our experience to move from a cozy booth to a much smaller table with metal chairs. I don't think I've ever been asked to switch tables before. I was a hostess once upon a time and I don't think I would have asked patrons to do so, either. The manager comped our soup and salad for our trouble, but it was little consolation as the soup was bland and we had to send the salad back (we asked for no feta, but there it was). The service was slow and inattentive. By the time I was asked if I wanted another drink, it was too far into our meal. My husband wasn't crazy about his scallops. I had the salmon and enjoyed it. Of course our kids liked the grilled cheese and fries. Overall, not terrible but not great. I would give Epping's/Poppy & Olive another chance, just not at my suggestion.
