Ponza Italian Kitchen & Pizza is a spirited neighborhood restaurant and gathering place. Named after Italy’s most beautiful Island, Ponza is deeply rooted in hospitality, bringing people together around the table over great food and drink. Enjoy Italian tapas, comforting pasta dishes, chef specialties, and the restaurant’s signature pizza. Ponza’s unique bi-level space is wrapped around a live ficus tree (weeping fig), with cascading branches throughout the restaurant, creating one of Norwalk’s most distinctive restaurants.

Service could be a lot better-We sat down & no one came to our table for over 30 minutes. We flagged a waiter and he wasnt from our section but no one seemed to care we had been sitting awhile, No water no bread nothing while we waited. i mentioned pasta wasn't on the menu-he said that was online only, and it would take longer to make. we Ordered drinks ,2 pasta dishes & appetizer . Drinks came out wrong and the food took over 40 minutes to come out and it all came out at the same time. Hostess didnt seem to wonder why we had no service and it was like we were invisible. Bad service great music

I really wanted to love Ponza as I think we need a family friendly neighborhood place, but there is some work to be done here. The food is good and that is a great foundation.

The kinks, from our experience, that I hope they work out remain in the timing of food and service. For example, we were a party of five and warm bread was dropped at the table for four people. When we asked twice for more bread, we were told it was delayed because it was being baked...yet another four pieces appeared cold about 10 after we requested it.

Two people in our party ordered pizzas which came out 10-15 min before everyone else dinner. When we inquired we were told that pizzas come out faster. OK...but if a group is eating together put the pizzas in to be timed with the rest of the meals so nobody is sitting around watching others eat.

Our waiter asked the soda drinkers at our table if they wanted refills, which means he was paying attention (a good thing), but when we received our bill we were charged for each refill. When we questioned why as they were offered refills, we were told now we would know for the next time....

Again -- I REALLY wanted to love it here. Positives included good pasta dishes and not your run of the mill appetizer assortment, plus there was music playing the night we went. A nice change from the ole pandemic routine.

I am hoping the kinks get worked out, but it will be awhile before we try again.

I can’t remember the last time I have had a worse meal. The cauliflower bit were advertised as home made and were clearly a pre-made frozen product. I can’t think of one good thing to say about their flavorless pizza.
I will never go again.

Great night at Ponza. They had the live band outside where I was sitting which is why I indicated it was loud But I was happy to be singing along and dancing (masks on). Food was the best I’ve had there and the service was excellent. Very happy with the evening
