    The food and service were absolutely fantastic. The wine list a bit lacking, but didn't go there for wine.

    Every aspect of our experience was memorable. Misoyaki salmon, crab cakes and Lilikoi tart were very delicious and prepared perfectly for our taste buds. The misoyaki glaze was not excessive and overly sweet, which is how we prefer. It complemented the salmon flavor and salmon was not overcooked. My Ruby SoHo Sakerini was a unique cocktail that we enjoyed.

    This was our third time eating at Pono and the food has been consistently delicious❣️ The waiters are amazing also.

    Lovely fresh food and great service. This is a hidden gem in Grover Beach. A must try if you are visiting the SLO area and want something different.

    Food was really good, however everything else was not that great. We waited for our table and we were told that the place is “low on bread” which was not useful. Finally they said that they “negotiated” us to have bread… and then we waited for about 45 min for our food…

    This has long been one of our favorite restaurants. Super fresh fish, inventive recipes, and super friendly staff!

    We tried this after hearing great things and we will never return. First of all charging for bread service at $10 is ridiculous. Four pieces of gilled bread with a scoop of butter was just disappointing. I asked about a substitution on a side of my fish selection and was told in a condescending tone, he does do substitutions. Fun enough the halibut on the menu was substituted that evening with sea bass. The butterfish was very good but the sea bass was fishy and my husband felt ill when we got home. Overall this is just overpriced what they want to be fancy food that did not impress.

    The butter fish was excellent. The flavor from the sauce and the marinate is one of the best I have ever had. This is our third visit and each dish I find better than the last. The wine list has a nice selection of local wines. The service was very good and fast. It is a little noisy since the the tables are close together. The prices are on the higher end. Dinne for two with two glasses of wine $140 with tip.
