The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The Chef made a substitution I requested with no problem! We will be back!
Server was great.
Chris was wonderful as our server and the food was very tasty.
Took my mother here for her Mother’s Day meal. The service was spectacular as well as our meal! I’ll will definitely be coming back for a possible date night .
Decor is run down, not updated from former steakhouse that occupied space. Even dishes had former restaurants name on them. Menus were limited and different from published online menu. First course brought out was not what I ordered. Main course fettuccine with red sauce lacked flavor and gave me a painful stomach aches for hours after eating.
Disappointed and won’t return.
Mother’s Day and Birthday
The evening was perfect from start to finish!
Amazing place,my favorite restaurant in Arizona.Food is great, service even better and the atmosphere is very cool.Make sure you have a reservation,Pomodoro is always packed.
We ordered Calamari to share, the appetizer includes shrimps.
Then I had the fettuccine rosemary infused with porcini mushrooms, sausages and cherry tomatoes ,my wife had Chilean Sea Bass and that looked super neat and fresh.
Both dishes were unbelievable!my pasta was delicious I won’t forget that, the sauce very very good!
Additionally the customer service and the attention to detail was superb,,the thing that impressed me most ,was the Host/Manager and how you could tell that he really cared about our dining experience.
Great service and excellent ambiance.
Food was good but not worth the price
Thank you. We booked last minute and the food, service and wait staff were wonderful and fast.
Fabulous Italian, service is impeccable, food is outstanding and electric cocktails.
Literally food, service, ambiance and overall experience in general is straight 10/10 and beyond.
This is a flawless restaurant ,you can’t ask for anything better
Food was excellent, period. However, service was horrid and owners never bothered to change decor from former western steakhouse, so no ambiance whatsoever.
I am ambivalent on recommending, but will do so with warning about service.
We were seated upon arrival at our appointed time.
We found our servers to be friendly and helpful although the evening became a bit long & drawn out, arriving at 6:30 & not finishing until 9:30. The amount of time between courses was too long.
The food which was mostly good had some hiccups. Appetizer/ Salad course: the scallops were not seared, only cooked, so no crispy edges. One Bleu Salad was served with brown, inedible wilted area in center & was disappointing with only bacon as an additional ingredient.
The other appetizers were rated good by their diners (mushroom soup, summer salad, & mussels).
Main courses: Short Rib Ravioli—delicious, Osso Bucco-good but nothing special, Veal Chop-excellent, Butternut Squash Ravioli-good but didn’t look like ravioli, Cippino-delicious, Fillet—ordered medium rare, initially served medium well, sent back, then returned almost rare—sent back & he asked it be taken off bill—no longer wanted.
Although we did not order dessert, our inviter made arrangements for 2 birthdays in the group & cannolis were brought to the table. They were good. Jennifer brought our diner who had the bad experience with his meal a brownie dessert (too bad he doesn’t like brownies as he shared & it was good).
It took a long time to receive our bill & when it arrived, it was incorrect. Corrections were made but it left our last taste as a negative. Normally, We would consider giving it another try but probably will not as we drove an hour from Goodyear to get there.
Food was terrific as was the service and staff!
Five stars restaurant in the heart of Cave Creek.excellent food, great service and wonderful atmosphere.
Ossobuco was great, homemade fettuccine with mushrooms sausages and cherry tomatoes best dish I ever had in an Italian restaurant
A very nice restaurant--the ossobuco was really good!
Thanks Pomodoro for a killer dinner that turned around my entire mood yesterday.Hostess was friendly, our server Chris was amazing, and Roman the bartender come to deliver delicious fancy bevies.
I Ordered zucchini flowers which were the best appetizer I ever had along with fettuccine Lobster.
My husband ordered filet mignon with truffle and porcini mushrooms:outstanding!definitely a must if you are in north Scottsdale/Cave Creek area
Food and service was great ! Drinks way over priced and average pours.
Great restaurant!came here for a business dinner and was pleasantly impressed!Nice wine selection, great cocktails, the pasta was cooked to perfection and best Veal parmigiana I ever had in my life!will definitely come back
We've been here many times and this time we took our accountant and she loved the 'short rib' with ravioli and said it was fabulous. Chris our waiter was very attentive as always. Great pasta, light and some big big meals for me.. so happy they're part of our town.
Waiter was knowledgeable about food but very rehearsed, heard the exact same as he moved from table to table explaining specials. We had to ask waiter to order appetizer. Waiter friendly but bus boys need some training. Brought items on tray to our table when bussing and set them on our table while taking ours. Lobster tails was very dry and chewy.
Fried zucchini flowers were mostly batter. Only 2 of 4 very small flowers had any goat cheese in-them. These were all very small compared to what we have had other places. The one special pasta was very good, but lobster not so great. May go back to try happy hour but no hurry.
One of the few Italian places I actually don’t mind spending money on,my friends and I (I’m a New Yorker foodie)had such a wonderful dinner here.
With a unique and complex menu of northern Italian preparation that have not graced the tables of many restaurants,Pomodoro provides an elegant fine dining experience.
We were shocked by how amazing the entire experience was!
Every single staff member from the bartender, host ,waiter, owner were so friendly and knew what they were talking about.
The service was impeccable, but the food was better!
Octopus antipasti was delicious, tender and flavorful, fettuccine with lobster a five diamonds dishes.
Pasta perfectly cooked “al dente”,the lobster was very soft, juicy and tasty, the lobster meat sauce amazing.
I highly recommend both.
Absolutely incredible, ambiance, food and service were all perfect!
We were really really delighted by our culinary experience here.
Authentic Italian restaurant 100%.
Drinks 5/5 Appetizers 5/5 main course 5/5 desserts 5/5
This was one of those meal that I think about for a couple of days.SO GOOD!!!
We started with the grilled octopus,oh my god!big portion(we shared) and delizioso.
Than we had filet mignon with truffle and porcini mushrooms and linguine infused with parsley and lemon with pesto and shrimp.
One word.AMAZING.Okay two words.ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
We ended with desserts and I usually would say hands down to the Tiramisu:MOUTHWATERING.
Our service was six stars as our waiter so attentive and kind .
I can’t wait to come back here for a date night and try even more things!
Excellent wine choices and outstanding service. All staff were professional and polished. However, the food was just mediocre. Gamberi/bacon was a large portion, well-presented, but at least one of the shrimp was nearly raw. Tagliatelli carbonara was heavy with sausage, overpowering the guanciale - which was tough and overcooked. The sauce seemed to lack any parmigiano and had little flavor. The sauce on the chicken piccata, was watery thin and the chicken was rather tough and simply baked, but with no seasoning at all. The veal marsala featured nice, tender veal, but the sauce was again watery and had little flavor of marsala.
Finally, even though the reservation was booked as an anniversary occasion, there was no acknowledgement of that. We were not looking for any special treatment or complimentary food/drink, but a simple congratulations would have been thoughtful.
Knowing the food business as I do they’re about 15-20% high depending on the menu item.
What a fun night out at Pomodoro’s!we made a reservation a few weeks out since we had a party of 6(highly recommended a reservation on weekend).
Our service was great from the start as well cocktails and drinks
I had Negroni vecchio,a smocked,revisited,unbelievable Italian classic.
We started with fried calamari and shrimp (probably the best I ever had),zucchini flowers (excellent) and caprese di bufala(fresh and tasty)
We than had the veal Parmigiana (huge portion and delicious, was my main course)fettuccine with Lobster, fettuccine with Wagyu beef ragù,lamb chops and 40oz tomahawk steak.
Everything was perfectly cooked and delectable,FIVE STARS++ QUALITY.
I’m not sure I’ve had a better customer service and a better food than that.
With a great atmosphere ,tasty food and spectacular service I will always be returning back
Service was pleasant food was good. Will go back for sure.
Everyone enjoyed their meal selections. The waiter was great about making it a dining experience but unfortunately we had to shorten our stay due to family getting to airport.
Would love to visit again when we have no time constraints. Would enjoy seeing more Tuscan type decor to complete the ambiance( full disclosure.. my daughter is an architect).
Excellent food and presentation
Wait staff new and inexperienced but helpful
Felt the experience overpriced
Every time I come back seems the food gets better!!our waiter Jose was great and very pleasant and attentive.Excellent food and superb service.
Best place in Cave Creek !if you haven’t been yet run don’t walk.
Everything is amazing not one bad dish. The short rib ravioli was my personal favorite ,I could eat everyday for the rest of my life.Veal parmigiana with homemade spaghetti AMAZING!!!
Been hearing so much about this place and so glad I finally got the opportunity to try it.
To begin we were given a basket of homemade bread with extra virgin olive oil, next we were given lobster ravioli and Fettuccine special with ground lamb and Italian sausage ragù.
One of the Best meals I ever had.
Our server Chris was super personable and made our night a memorable one.Great personality and attention to detail.
The ambiance was great, super spacious you didn’t feel jammed in with other guests.
The Smoked old fashioned was amazing, for dessert we had the carrot cake...phenomenal.
Pomodoro goes on my list of my top favorite restaurant
Highly recommend seafood "grill" platter for 2. Minimal carbs and perfect portion for 2 lighter eaters.
Pomodoro italian grill and seafood hands down is one of my favorite restaurants.
The food outstanding, the service prompt and attentive ,the atmosphere warm and inviting.Being a foodie from NYC,I could only wish this fine establishment in my town.
No like there aren’t great Italian restaurant in NYC,but this one stands out in a class by itself.
Chef Viola makes all her amazing pastas by hand and infuses many with fresh herbs and mushrooms.Paired with regional souces from her home town in Umbria. One bite and your palate is immediately transformed to Italy.Veal Parmigiana (giant!!)is my favorite and the best I ever had in my life.
The Filet mignon with truffle and porcini mushrooms ,my wife says was cooked to perfection and delicious.
The wine-let’s just say the wine in a restaurant should reflect upon the owner knowledge of food and how it pairs.
The choices are fabulous, terrific wine list!
The front of the house is like a Swiss watch ,efficient, courteous, and on point.
Thanks for bringing a piece of Italy in Cave Creek
This place is such a wonderful hidden gem.It is a favorite of mine and my mom’ s .they have amazing cocktails,my favorite is the smoked old fashioned.
The octopus,OMG!I’ve had octopus in world class restaurants all over the world, but nothing comes close to this.
As for the rest of the meal, that was world class too.
Scallops,fettuccine lobster,Chilean sea bass.
I ordered the veal parmigiana, it was a good sized portion but no flavor, very disappointed we were hopping to find a place we could bring our group to. The service was good, the place looks great, the noise level was fine, but the food was lass then flavorful.
Our service was fabulous. Food was mediocre, especially for the high price. Ambiance was still all leftover from the previous restaurant including dishes with “Cartwrights” logos which was odd.
Shareable fish dish overcooked and lacked seasoning
Some strange charges such as Rocks $4.50 and Side $6.00 in addition to the $11.00 half portion of pasta
First one visiting this restaurant and I was very very impressed.
We started with fresh homemade bread and olive oil, which was wonderful. We had a glass of Montepulciano and a cab, both were robust and paired perfectly with the meal.
Our waiter recommended several entrees for us,we went with the Grigliata di pesce:a mixed fish plate, with Grilled scallops,Calamari,Shrimp, mussels “au gratin”,salmon and vegetables. One word:outstanding.
We also had Bresaola carpaccio with shaved parmigiano arugula and truffle and a “giant” Caesar salad, both exceptional.
Pomodoro took it a step further and provided us dessert and glasses of Prosecco for our anniversary,we couldn’t have left more satisfied (and stuffed!!)
Don't order anything with shellfish including lobster. The shrimp in my Cioppino was small and overcooked. My wife had lobster pasta and the lobster was vey much overcooked.
