Plant Food + Wine Venice Ratings and Reviews
Not just a great Vegan resturant but a great resturant. My wife is a Vegan and I am not. I enjoy this resturant as much as she did. The food was all delicious and filling. The back garden seating is a little gem hideaway, perfect for an afternoon lunch or nice evening.
We had a great group dinner the other night. Originally they had us seated outside at a communal table. When we asked to be moved to something more intimate, we were moved into this adorable little wine room, which had the perfect intimate atmosphere. I was the only vegan and I kind of pushed the restaurant on everyone. By the end of the night, and with a little help from the awesome wait staff, everybody was raving about the place. It's hard to say what were the best items, but I recall loving the gem salad, the deep fried mushroom dish, the pasta bolognese and the chocolate chip sandwich for dessert. And of course, I love the gluten and grain free fennel crackers. This is my third time eating at this restaurant and I haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks for making me look so good and for a great night!
I was extremely disappointed in my evening last night for their Thanksgiving set menu. The menu was $75 a person, with a $35 wine pairing and somehow we walked away with a $400 bill for two people.
The set menu was decent but honestly not exceptional. I would have happily paid $40-45 for this menu but for having just mediocre vegetable-based dishes, the $75 price tag was absurd. The waiter had asked us if we wanted/liked truffles sprinkled on two of the dishes, to which we happily agreed without being informed that the 3 tiny tasteless truffle shavings would cost us $25 each.
The wine pairing (mini glasses, not full glasses) was extremely disappointing. It begs the question where they learned about wine. My father was visiting from Italy for the holidays and I was honestly embarrassed to introduce him to California wine this way.
The 20% fixed tip was the cherry on top of the cake.
This was my first time at the restaurant, and I have been to some exceptional vegan restaurants in LA - this is not one of them. I will not be recommending this place to anyone.
This was a special Thanksgiving pre-set meal. I've eaten there before and the service has been great but they were overwhelmed this night. I did the wine paring. My date did not but they kept bringing her tastings when they brought mine. Waitress asked if I enjoyed the wine pairings before any food arrived. Initial food arrived very slowly. Ordered the truffle option, but they failed to include it until I noticed and reminded them. The food was good, but this didn't feel like $150 plus/person service.
The food was the tastiest vegan food I've ever had. We ate indoors and didn't realize there was outdoor seating until we left. The indoor is bland with a large TV (my pet peeve since I don't go out with friends or dinner to watch TV) so I downgraded the ambience. Next time we eat outdoors. The wine was pricey, I thought, and not that great a selection. Would have liked to see some more European wines. But for the food, this place is fantastic.
Food was way over priced Service just not professional.
Recipes tried too hard. Flavors so simplistic and mainly didn’t work. None of it actually delivered. Sent two items back.
Patio in back was beautiful and a wonderful place to sit. Way outclassed by its peers on abbot kinney
Delicious plant based food. Beautiful presentation. Lasagna and cauliflower were exceptional. Blue Cheese resembled more of a hummus but colorful presentation and still tasted delicious with the house bread. Mushrooms came out cold and lacked flavor. Apple pie with fig leaf ice cream was a lovely end to the meal.
Service is a bit over-the-top but attentive and friendly.
We are visitors from out of town and looking forward to the tasting menu which was not available on. Saturday night!. Servers seemed disorganized. I was expecting a higher end dining experience than we received. That said, we had a great time and my non-vegan husband was totally blown away by the food. I would go again but I hope the team has worked out some of the kinks by then.
The place is very nice we were seated outside and we liked it.The service was very good.
The food did not have much flavor we order three things and ended up eating the cheese and bread we didn't like the soup or the noodles. we ended up paying $80 including tax and tip and went home to eat.
The food we had was wonderful and well thought out. We loved the smoked hummus and blue cheese. We've had several vegan meals on this trip and Plant Food raised the bar for vegan/plant based cuisine. The outdoor space was pleasant and had really nice lighting. I'm looking forward to our next trip to Venice to come back.
Enjoyed a great dinner the food was great. The only bad thing I have to say is they didn't even honor my request for outdoor seating. I had made the reservation 5 days in advance and specifically asked for outdoor seating and when we arrived the hostess said all she had left was inside seating and they don't honor requests like that which I thought was absurd. As I ate my dinner I noticed the hostess kept seating older adults in the outdoor seating area, so I'm not sure why we were treated so differently just because we were young adults.
