View Private Dining DetailsThe appetizers were amazing. The entrees were mediocre, I think the taco shells were from Trader Joe's, seriously. My apple pie was a disaster. The presentation was really ugly. I ate at Pure Food and Wine in NYC years ago and it was fantastic. I was disappointed in the Venice experience.
I had a lovely birthday brunch with my friends. The ambiance was just perfect.
Incredible food & gorgeous romantic atmosphere
underwhelmed from the food but beautiful ambiente.
To be fair four of us went, only one a vegan two vegetarians. I found the presentation beautiful but the choice of hot dishes was practically nonexistent . if you want to eat cold vegetables laid on a plate in a decorative design this is your place. Two of us had the avocado starter on advice from the waitress. Surprisingly boring a piece of bread 5 slices of avocado on a hummus sauce. It was very underwhelming . The mushroom burger tasteless . Lasagna was nothing more than a stacked salad. Very beautiful outdoor seating. I’m glad they are doing so well. I’m all for not eating animals.
Patio was lovely and great if you are vegan it’s a gem to look at a menu and be able to eat anything.
The food was excellent, probably the best vegetarian I've had. The service was very good, and the ambience out on the back patio was great.
The entire experience was top notch, as was the bill. If you're on a limited budget, this will be a tough one for you. But as a special experience, it shouldn't be missed.
It was a great experience to enjoy raw food prepared in a creative way. especially the deserts, slowly cooked were a joy for the tongue.
Consistently delicious food. Extremely creative dishes. The staff are very helpful, efficient, accommodating and friendly. The outdoor patio is beautiful and a much more quiet alternative to the somewhat noisier, but cozy interior.
Great food and wonderful personal service.
Fantastic food, great service! I would highly recommend Plant Food + Wine in Venice.
The food was fantastic and the ambience in the patio absolutely delightful. We had a great meal.
My only suggestion would be that they should change signage to gender-neutral restrooms. Fantastic food, service and ambiance!
Delicious. Expensive. Inventive. Enlightening for vegans and omnivores.
Loved my food and drink and the decor was top notch. Plant based everything my fav
Incredibly brilliant cuisine, truly elevated. Flavors and texture have horizons and design, optically everything is absurdly gorgeous. Edible flowers FTW. My biggest trepidation is honest reviews like this will pack the place but they more than deserve it. Sooo good. I think it's vegan or something too.
It was very nice. The service was impeccable, absolutely amazing. I was very impressed.
The food was delicious. We got everything the waitress recommended. The Banana Pancakes were my FAVORITE. I also liked the fact that I didn’t have to worry about if it had any dairy - so my stomach feels amazing.
The atmosphere was beautiful! Exactly what I wanted for our business meeting. - we sat in the back so it wasn’t the most ideal situation business wise because it was noisy but there was a place in front that wasn’t noisy. We just wanted to sit outside!
Loved it- can’t wait to go back.
I was just looking for a restaurant in the area on short notice and didn't have particularly high expectations, but this was a really excellent meal. The prices were a little high relative to serving size but the quality of food was entirely worth it.
Every time I’m in town I go out of my way to eat at Plant Food and Wine and every time I’m impressed!
I’m “mostly” vegan so eat at a lot of vegan restaurants and most never come close to Mathew Zkenney’s talent.
Thank you!
I'm newer to being a vegan, but this place is simply one of the best restaurants (vegan or non) that I've eaten at this year. It was wonderfully creative and the outside patio is beautiful and cozy.
Outstanding cuisine. imaginative vegan cooking, that is simply delicious. if i lived closer i would gladly eat here once a week. i am lactose intolerant, and being able to open a menu and just order without needing to ask about the contents of every dish is a wonderful relaxing change. service is great too. non-vegans will be happy here too. highly recommended
Perfect. The service was spot on, and every dish was perfect. I’ll move to Venice just to have this on the regular.
Went for the food, ended up enjoying the beautiful garden and ambiance of the restaurant much more. Nothing on the brunch menu was plated as beautifully as the photos, a bit more rustic. The cheese platter saved the whole meal, it was great. It took a while for the plates to come out and my salad was way over dressed but proportions were good.. I was too hungry to ask for a new one. My friend had avo toast she said it was fine, the toast itself looked really nice. All in all an enjoyable experience.
Great vegan food and very creative. The kimchi dumplings are too die for. Friendly staff, and overall great atmosphere.
SERVICE - We had a reservation, but when we arrived were told that there would be a 15 minute wait because it was raining and the patio area was closed (this would have been fine had they contacted us beforehand, but instead they chose to waste our time and leave us to wait in the rain). Quite honestly, the service in general was very unprofessional and one of the staff members became rude and defensive when we enquired about said 15 minute wait despite the booking.
ATMOSPHERE - The fire was blaring and the restaurant was uncomfortably hot - the diners at the table next to us mentioned this also. It was also very noisy inside and therefore hard to relax.
FOOD - To start we had the kimchi dumplings and avocado tikka, both of which were recommended by the server. The kimchi dumplings looked beautiful but weren't all that great (imagine a tuna-like substance wrapped in leaves and you get the idea). The avocado tikka was a creative dish that was enjoyable to eat - I can definitely say I've never had anything like it. For mains we had the raw lasagna (again, gorgeous, but a pretty standard raw lasagna and I have had better elsewhere) and spicy udon (which was not in fact udon, but linguine, and the "tempeh sausage" described on the menu was just strips of tempeh - although I enjoyed it nonetheless). My dining companion got the apple pie for dessert (which got rave reviews), whilst I opted for the gianduja cake - this was divine and quite possibly one of the best vegan desserts I have ever eaten.
Overall this was a disappointing experience that did not live up to my expectations. I would recommend coming here only for a glass of wine and dessert - the gianduja cake, to be specific!
My most favorite spot...and would be even if I didn’t live a block away!
if you're a vegan, you'll like it here. great dumplings. great udon cashew cream sauce dish. great raw lasagne.
Best food in a long time. Paris and Justin made the experience even better. Plant based wins!
Love everything about this restaurant!
Service was horrible. Should be called plant food and rude! Our waitress had an attitude for no reason. Seemed liked she couldn’t have been bothered. When asked for a refill of iced teas - she didn’t inform us that they charge you each time. Overall quality and taste of food for Sunday brunch was lacking. Burrito was falling apart and had zero taste. The only thing exciting about it was the charred bits on the outside of the tortilla.
The food was mediocre, I was expecting way more for the price paid. Also, the service is mediocre. Will not be returning.
Excellent and creative plant-based food and wine. Bit overpriced.
Food and ambience great. Service not great
Wonderful plant-based food, so delicious and tasty. And even healthy at the same time. Would definitely come back.
I have been waiting to dine at this restaurant for two years (since I live in Hong Kong it's not like I can rock up to Abbot Kinney and drop in)! Well, the wait was worth it. The ambiance is spectacular - having dinner in the garden is quite the experience. The food? Wow - all I can say is that every dish was a hit (except for the desserts, sadly). Service was tip top. My friend has a nut allergy and the staff was very careful and pro-active in suggesting the dishes without nuts. If I live in L.A. I will be back every week!
Tijdens onze vakantie gegeten in dit fantastische restaurant
Unreal! Cant wait to come back next time. Food was tasty and original
expensive for small portions; not great service but good if you need a vegan place; cozy patio in good weather and nice indoor space but a bit noisy inside
Upscale Vegan places are hard to find. This place is a gem. The food was amazing. Our waitress Sara was great.
We really wanted to like this place, but it wasn't happening. The backyard is possibly one of the nicest outdoor dining spots in LA and the service was top notch. Unfortunately, the food left us wanting. The hummus was good, but we'd have preferred the grilled flatbread with it instead of the crackers (didn't realize until it arrived). The polenta tasted good, but was just sort of a bowl of mush. The pasta with sweet potato sauce was surprisingly sweet and also kinda mushy. A+ for the ambiance and service. Notsomuch on the food.
