About this restaurant

A favourite of London locals since 1992, Pizzeria la Lanterna is located South of the Thames close to London’s Design Museum and Tower Bridge. Warmly inviting, the two floored restaurant is decorated in simple, slickly modern style and provides wonderful al fresco dining in the Italianite styled courtyard complete with parasol shades and a city-centric bustle. La Lanterna’s service is charming and even a little flirtatious – in keeping with that which you’ll find in Italy of course! – adding to the relaxed and friendly atmosphere while maintaining professionalism and efficiency. Live music every Friday night starts the weekend off well, with dancing until late after meals are eaten. While pizzas are La Lanterna’s selling point, the restaurant’s seafood, meat and pasta dishes are equally good, authentically and freshly prepared using high quality ingredients. No Italian meal is complete without a crisp glass of wine and indeed Pizzeria la Lanterna’s wine list is appropriately excellent

Good food and very good service from a friendly staff. Overall we enjoyed our meal and were glad we chose this restaurant.

La Lanterna is an excellent pizza restaurant in the Butler's Wharf area. The food was excellent and the portions generous (possibly too generous). The waiters were helpful and unobtrusive. The only missing thing was atmosphere. We went on a Wednesday evening and were alone when we arrived and one of only three or four couples dining by the time we left. I'd like to go again on a Friday or Saturday night and see what the atmosphere is like.

Excellent dining room. Rustic. Good wine list. Large portions. Complimentary liquor - always a nice touch. Will definitely be back.

My mum and I booked here as I have always had great food, lunch did not disappoint. I ordered the sea bass special which was a grilled filet in olive oil and lemon juice, with garlic, clams and mussels. My mum had a fantastic veal parmiagiano both of which were perfectly cooked and well presented with vegetables on the side. Great place for sitting outside on the terrace - very meditteranean!

Without doubt my favourite, as good as the italians on Bermondsey street, but with better value & service. Food is just simply top class, and the specials board will ensure there is always something new to try. Will be going back again and again. Big portions so go with an appetite.

The food is terrific with a really good choice from the menu. Portion sizes are generous and everything is enhanced because it has such a great friendly feeling about the place.

Recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. Unbelievable pizza and pasta at great prices. Service could of been better, but only because they were so busy. Portions are massive so if you're not a big eater share a starter.
