For this first feast of the season, we are excited to welcome a special guest from Napoli: Vincenzo di Meo of La Sibilla wines (more on them below). Vincenzo will be pouring his exceptional wines made from ungrafted Falanghina and Piedirosso vines, making an already delicious evening even better.
About La Sibilla:
Just north of Naples, on the coast of Campania, lies the tiny winegrowing region of Campi Flegrei. Here, in sandy soil, vines grow ungrafted—a rarity in European viticulture since the phylloxera plague of the 19th century. Perhaps this is what makes these wines so distinct, along with the careful hands of Luigi di Meo and his family.
The result? Full ripeness at lower alcohol. Falanghina (white) and Piedirosso (red) reach perfect balance by late September, delivering vibrant flavor, fresh acidity, and a modest 12% ABV. Vinified in stainless steel, they shine unadorned—pure expressions of place, history, and a lost Golden Age of winemaking. A rare chance to taste something truly untouched.
Or, in their own words from their website, "The viticultural tradition of La Sibilla is the story of our family, and can be represented by the roots of a vine that combine with the soil over the years, going ever deeper in search of minerals. We are like those roots, and for at least five generations we have worked this fascinating and mysterious little outcropping of earth called the Campi Flegrei."
