In 2005, Annie and Craig Stoll annexed the space next door to their James Beard Award winning Delfina restaurant fulfilling a long time dream of bringing Neapolitan-inspired pizzas to San Francisco. The 600 square foot space was an instant neighborhood hotspot, and Pizzeria Delfina became the ""darling of the San Francisco food scene"" opening a second location in 2008 to popular demand.

In 2014, Annie and Craig expanded into the Peninsula with Pizzeria Delfina in Palo Alto.

This energetic, farmers-to-table restaurant serves up Neapolitan-inspired pizza complemented by a daily-changing roster of seasonal antipasti, piatti (small entrees), beer, wine and more. The staff on that night worked really hard to join our tables so everyone who showed up could sit close to each other. We were thrilled that this didn’t seem to be an imposition and they took our orders and got our drinks despite varying opinions about how to order. We hope our group wasn’t too challenging for the staff and milling about near others in the outdoor lounge seats as we waited for our tables. Thank you for all your effort. Food was excellent as usual

Food is very fresh and flavorful each time we go. We did feel rushed as our plates and glassware were being cleared the moment we took a last bite or last sip of a drink (within 15-30 seconds). So, we felt we were being watched!

Incredible food, lackluster service. I don’t normally leave reviews as I understand that not every experience can be clearly understood by one review and one table’s experience. People have off nights or order the wrong item for their taste. That is not the restaurant’s fault and this is life. It is often not appropriate to leave a bad review to a restaurant and it’s staff that is working very hard to keep its doors open. That being said, our experience on Saturday night for a table 7 deserves a mention. I will start off by saying the service was not downright terrible, just not very thoughtful. It took a very long time to order even though we sat down 15 minutes before our scheduled reservation. That in itself is fine within reason. When you sit down early and then it takes ages to order it is then not appreciated when just as you finish your meal you are reminded that it is 5 minutes to closing time. Then at that very same time your check gets drop off on the table and you are not even offered a desert menu. Any sensible person would not have ordered desert at that moment anyway, as it was clear we were expected to leave right away. It is the little things that matter. Perhaps it could be chalked up to the young age of the waitstaff, or perhaps a need for better training. It is the little things that leave the last impression. My impression is that the children running the restaurant need some guidance with timing and follow through. Other than that, which could in itself be chalked up to a bad night, everyone was pleased with their meal, which ultimately is most important in my opinion.

We love dining here outdoors. A solid restaurant with unique and fresh flavors. Not only are their pizzas delicious but we always looks forward to their salads which balances the meal out very nicely. Their kids menu is great too. Everyone is happy!

Love Pizzeria Delfina! It’s our go-to. Great service always. Shout out to Jade, Emma and Olivia. Love the meatballs. Pizza delish. The seasonal dishes are wonderful. Had the tomatoes and burrata last night - delish! Oh and do not miss the soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. It’s the bomb!

I had noted that you had porcini pizza on your menu, and promptly made a reservation for 3 days later. However, even though I’d checked the day before, the much-longed-for item was NOT on the menu when we arrived. We still had a great dinner by choosing the more standard mushroom pizza, but it was a huge letdown not to get what I’d been longing for…and the true reason for which I’d made the reservation.

Delfina is a family favorite. The menu is limited but focused on putting out everything just as it should be. So, go for the Margarita or try a special. All vegetables and salads are seasonal and prepared perfectly. Service is phenomenal, after a few visits the staff recognize you and appreciate the return visit.
