they are no longer open for dinner. would have been nice to know before we dressed up and drove there. not owned by same folk. new ideas there. update ur files probably.
Very good food with decent service and slightly high prices can be expected at Pineapple Grill. The Cobb salad and side of French fries were both very tasty. Service was slow but friendly. The view of the Bay Course is very nice, and we had an enjoyable dining experience.
We go for dinner once a year, to celebrate being in Maui. The menu changes, but we always find something delicious. I hope they never change the pineapple upside-down cake. This year we had a dinner reservation, but after getting rained out at Flemings Beach, I phoned and switched reservation to 'now, please.' No problem, but the lunch menu is not as extensive as the dinner menu. We suffered bravely through it !
Very nice waitress named Ashley, very friendly, and great service. Food was very good.
We all had a wonderful dinner the other night. The mahi-mahi, which three of us had, was fantastic as was the steak. Our waiter, Carlos, was the icing on the cake. He was so attentive and surprised us with an amazing dessert! So sad it was quite empty. Anyone who reads this needs to go to Pineapple Grill. You will be delighted with all!
Food was excellent but the pineapple grill has gotten expensive.
Always a great time at The Pineapple Grill. We eat here on the last night of our trip every time we come to Maui. We have been coming here for over 14 years. The staff and the ambiance are always fantastic and this time was no different. Joan seated us, even let us move to our favorite table when we arrived. Aaron was attentive and a great server, catering to our needs. The food was amazing as always.
Thanks again, we will see you next time.

The food was just so-so, nothing outstanding and for a very high price...way too much curry on the fish. Would not go back
This restaurant has a nice, casual atmosphere. We went after sunset so we didn't see if there was any view. Large bar area. Nice roomy round tables for big parties. The local catch was excellent and the service was great.
This was my second visit to the Pineapple Grill. I was very impressed on my first visit. My second visit, however, I was underwhelmed. Our food was just okay and a bit expensive for the quality. I would definitely give it another try, though, given we had such a good experience the first time around.
Could use some help in areas
The food was excellent. My wife’s medium filet was cook perfectly and my crusted ahi was amazing. Service was great and to finish the night the pineapple upside down cake was on another level! I’ve never had a similar dish even come close to comparing. I believe the waiter when he said people from all over the country have to come to try the pineapple upside down cake specifically.
We came at 11 a.m. Easter morning. We were sorely disappointed that there were no breakfast options whatsoever at 11 a.m. Sunday. The restaurant previously had delicious huevos rancheros and great pancakes.
The fish was dry and over cooked. The risotto was well undercooked. Service was slow and appetizers were served at the same time as dinner.
Great service - menu is limited and lack lustre. Dinner was over cooked and lacking flavour and imagination which for the prices was disappointing.
WE have been here before and enjoyed it before but the last few times we have been here the service has been poor, unacceptably poor. Seemed that there was one server for the whole place and she wasn't the best. we asked for coffee and waited 35 minutes. The excuse was we had to do a new brew (????). our coffeemaker at home doesn't take that long. the meal was inaccurately prepared and sent back for two of the four people. Very disappointing.
Oh my this used to be our favorite...what happened! It was so bad we left. People were nice but told us about all the things wrong with it ...then they didn’t have first thing we ordered and disappeared for long time. It was so run down and was very sad looking. Poor waiter tried but he didn’t have much to work because of the way it is now. I hope it was a fluke because we LOVED it before. Had dinner elsewhere....
We had a terrific server named Marcus. He was very helpful knew how to make us feel welcome. We will come back because he was that good!
After 12 years , we will not return...very sad
great place to enjoy a meal quiet, beautiful view and fantastic food
We have loved Pineapple Grill and eaten there many times over the years. Unfortunately, it is no longer the PG we loved. So disappointed that it has gone downhill. We tried it twice this month but will not return.
We felt like we were dining in a friend’s home! The service was outstanding and the food was DELICIOUS! The Mahi-mahi and tuna entrees were wonderful! A great value for outstanding food with terrific views.
Food was great
We had a fish plate with yellow curry that was a nice change from other Mahi Mahi preparations. The curry went great with the fresh veggies. The sour dough bread was fresh and authentically ‘sour’. We had the patio to ourselves for awhile and the servers were great.
Food mediocre not worth the price. First time there in 5 years used to come every time we came to Maui sadly probably our last time. Hope it gets better
Nice server but food was not special and menu was limited. More of a lunch golfer's place than a special dinner venue.
My wine preference was out of stcok but the replaement was special!
Our waiter from Florida was excellent in all regards.
The hostess was great. We received a warm, professional welcome. Unfortunately, the hostess wasn’t our server. The server eventually showed up, struggled with eye contact, moved erratically, and had unexplained delays in service. He was nice enough, but gave off the feeling of being under the influence of an illegal substance.
The facilities need an update, particularly the restrooms. The food was mediocre, but the did a good job of not overcooking the fish. The highlight of the meal was definitely the namesake pineapple upside down cake.
I found the food was prepared well. The Sourdough bread (extra cost) is worth it since there are very few places in Maui that serve it. The service people seemed new and overwhelmed.
Hungry for hamburger after eating so much fish for past week. It was very good.
We had a reservation for four, arrived on time and found that their were only two servers for the whole restaurant..We had to wait for 30 minutes finally the manager sat us in the bar so he could wait on us.
Also you have reduce the size of the menu and was told the reason was because you were losing money. We come every year to Kapalua for 2 months and have been disappointed ever since Troon took over the restaurant, maybe you should stick to golf.
Very nice and attentive service. One of our plates were late so it was free. Thought that was nice. New management trying to turn things around. IMO needs Hawaiian music instead of popular songs.
Great experience at the Pineapple Grill - delicious food, great service! Great meal for our first trip to Maui!
Young waiter seemed bored with job; rather be surfing.
Manager (very professional) had to cover.
Dined twice here during our vacation in Maui. The first night was a problem in that only one server was working. It made for a longer wait for food. However, we were offered a free dessert on our return. This dessert, upside down pineapple cake, is delicious and we enjoyed it on our return visit. The coconut prawn and ahi tostada appetizers were excellent.
They are getting anew chef. Menu changed. Not happy about the changes.
This place was very over priced and very underwhelming. Their menu was minimal and a lot of things I read about in the reviews they no longer has on their menu. We walked out and ended up going else where.
Got violently ill after eating here, server was not attentive and getting the check took a very long time. Has been this way on repeated visits so we will not be back.
We have dined at PG for many years. When the ownership changed a couple of years ago or so the quality dipped, but they appear to be coming back. The food is good - although more local fish items would be welcome.
The one thing that could be improved are the metal chairs. They are uncomfortable and the addition of cushions has not helped much.
All in all a great neighborhood restaurant that seems to be on its way back!
The Duroc ribeye pork chop was nothing short of 5 star. Served with caramelized brussel sprouts, apple sauce, fingering potatoes and a sweet and sour mustard IPA sauce it could not have been better. A superb meal and very reasonably priced. Great service and setting.
