I was in town for a conference and this meal was phenomenal. The steak accoutrements and sides were special.
Wonderful, our server was fantastic and the desert was sooo good! It was great bread pudding with a fantastic liquor on fire! Just a really good meal for a special occasion!
NOT the place to go after work! If I could give them NO stars I would. We saw a happy hour menu online from Pierpont’s that Listed quite a few treats at reasonable prices. Five of us loaded up and went to Union Station for a “happy hour”. Our waiter was less than enthusiastic about us, or serving us and we had to ask his name after he had taken the drink order he was NOT wanting to have to deal with our cocktail orders and was only interested in our food order. Of course there isn’t really any “happy hour “ prices and we were told that we looked at the wrong menu or a third party menu when we should have gone to their website (we did). After three people ordering hamburgers one had the pear and almond salad with a side of asparagus, the food took quite a long time to come out and was sub par at best, burgers very dry and the salad had no dressing and the asparagus was yellow and brown. The manager made three table visits but never asked about our food or service and didn’t spend much time otherwise. The total bill for five people came to $200.00 with no more than two drinks each. WAY too expensive for an after work get together! Will not go back!!
We celebrated our daughter’s birthday at Pierpont’s for lunch. The only negative was the dry salami in my husband’s sandwich. Everything else was great. The homemade potato chips were tasty. My Cobb salad was delicious. Our daughter’s medium rare steak was more medium, but the flavor of the steak made up for it. We had the bread pudding for dessert , it was moist and delicious. Our server was excellent - very attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely go back!
We had a wonderful dining experience at Pierpont's at Union Station. The food was great, wine was good. It's a little more expensive than our norm, but worth it from time to time.
They fit the bill for any romantic lunch/dinner. Fantastic service, somewhat small entree selections but all extremely tempting. Go Sundays for half-price wine (bottle)!
I think that Pierpont's is totally good for almost every occasion. I think it is also convenient to the WWI museum and Halls at Crown center
Total rip off, yellow tail was not fresh, lobster cake was bad, chicken dry, service was good, although over optimistic about the food quaility would be an under statement
This was a nice meal, but I especially like the soup with blue crab on top; it’s loaded with calories, but delicious.
We had a booth for 6 people, it was cozy, but I wish we would’ve requested a table.
Excellent in all ways.
Amazing food every time
Too expensive for the quality
We had a lovely meal at Pierponts. The service was excellent, the portions were perfect and we look forward to returning the next time we are in town.
We had reservations for 7pm arrived at 6:55pm and was told table was being prepaired and that we should not waste time going to the bar to get a drink because we would not have enough time. We waited 10 minutes to be seated after 3 other groups were seated as soon as they walked up. The hostess and some other workers kept coming up to hostess stand and whispering and looking at us. Was a obvious issue. Had it not been a date night I would have left We were seated at a table 3 feet from the next table. It was obvious that the table wae a large table split into 3 tables. All dinner I felt like we were part of the couple next to us.We waited 10 mins or longer for a menu. Server kept blaming kitchen was backed up but food was lukewarm at best. Something tells me that if kitchen was that backed up food would be hot. This was the place my girlfriend and I had our first date and was coming back again. Was more than unpleased. If I wanted to sit 3 feet from some complete strangers we could have went to somewhere that we didn't spend $150. This place deffintly left a sour taste in my mouth. So many lies. Dinner took over 2 hours. Smh last time we will be back there.
We had a private room downstairs and had such a great time. Emmanuel was our server and he was on it! Great service and great food. We will be back.
We had a great meal and were able to carry on conversations without loud music. Had a really good meal. Service was great.
was my first time ever being was a great experience
For the price to food was only so so. If you’re going out there are much better options for the price around Kansas City. The food was not terrible but Valentine’s menu was not worth $75 per person by any means. The restaurant is very peaceful and the service is above and beyond I have no complaints in those departments. When I go to a higher end restaurant I usually expect the steak to be cooked correctly and the wine glass to be filled more than 1/4 of the way.
Everything was superb. Great vale, VERY pleasant! Great service
We have always held Pierpont’s with high regard. The valentines meal fell short. The salad was average. In KC you expect good beef. It was average. I had the strip, my husband had the filet...both were chewy and lacked flavor. Desserts were average. Overall, we choose Pierpont’s over many restaurants for a really nice valentines dinner...and it was not :(
Everything was outstanding the entire evening at Pierpont's until we left the parking lot. We had our parking ticket validated at the desk yet when we left the lot we had to pay $5.00. After spending $300 on our meal we obviously could afford it, it was just unexpected that the meter did not honor the validation. Then we put in a $20 bill and got $15 in coins! UGH!
I have never been more impressed with fine dining than I was coming here. As a hard of hearing person, it’s hard to find a place as accommodating as they were to my needs. And to top that off, there was a small unfortunate event that could have made the night go downhill, but they went above and beyond to make sure we felt cared for and taken care of. It may seem a little pricey for some, but the food and service definitely makes it worth it. We will be back!!
Food was very good, but the ambiance was amazing. Walking into the empty Union Station after my meal felt almost surreal.
We were seated promptly. Courtney provided great wait service. Our entrées were prepared as requested and both were excellent.
The manager checked on us twice.
The desserts were excellent, however, my date felt the custard in the crème brûlée should have been bit sweeter.
Excellent experience as always. Thanks. Never have to worry when bringing dinner guests to Pierpont’s.
Lovely as always. I was taking my dad to lunch for his 87th birthday and he enjoyed his meal a great deal. He turned down a complimentary birthday dessert because he didn’t care for the selection, but that’s on him! Great service and all the food was very good.
We had a great meal. The 4 course tasting menu was perfect!
While the server was excellent, and atmosphere perfect for an early Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife, my dinner selection (short ribs) was absolutely atrocious. Honestly they were the worst short ribs I’ve had in my life: flattened, dry as dust, tough as leather, and cold. The side that came with this was equally awful. My wife’s selection (seared scallops) were fine but with just three, were over priced. My appetizer (muscles) were average at best but also cool and a small quantity (think, a cup of muscles). If it weren’t for a great desert (an orange chocolate tart) I’d have tried to give a food rating lower than one star.
Even great restaurants (and chefs) can have an off night or a bad dish; I just have ( want to) assume that’s the case here. But after I mentioned to my wife it had been maybe ten years since coming here, I wondered if my experience and impression then was the same as now given I usually return to a great meal. I’m perhaps the beneficiary of an unlucky and random poor experience, but it may be another ten years for me to forget this one and try again.
Fortunately, the server (Ethan) made up for some of this with his perfect service and demeanor. And I was there for the company in any case, to share time with my beautiful wife. That, fortunately, made the evening overall surpass the inconvenience of my disappointing menu selection. Despite all of this, I wish only success for this iconic restaurant at historic Union Station and hope this input may contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and better quality in the months and years ahead.
Great for a date because it is quiet enough to talk and get to know each other.
Great food. Great service. When you stay at the Sheraton or Westin, you never have to go outside to get to the Pierpont.
The service was good. I really didn't like them putting us in a room way in the back. It seemed a little weird. I had a fillet. My husband had the aged ribeye. Both of us remarked they were dry. Not very juicy at all. The ribeye was a little better in the flavor. The parmesan asparagus was alittle bland and the cheese was just big chunks of parmesan and didn't really do much for it. The pear and almond salad was really good.
Excellent service. Outstanding food! Best filet mignon for one who likes well done. Absolutely tender and delicious. Cocktail enjoyable. Love this restaurant.
Excellent all the way around! The food was the best we've ever had at Pierponts. Service was outstanding. The ambience is great and we had a nice little table for 2 out of the way. Thank you, for a great Valentine's experience.
Atmosphere, food and service was excellent as always! If you are interested in a high quality restaurant, then Pierpont's is your place!
Tim was a great professional.
Asked to move to quieter room rather than bar area. Acoustics are terrible when lots of people talking at bar. Very hard to hear. Booth on next room was better. However that got loud as their was a wine party but that was still much better than bar area. We love people having fun but we're just old and that "echoey " sound in bar area is hard.
Great place for a date or special occasion dinner. Crab cakes and boar chops were fabulous and the staff was friendly and not overbearing. The soft light and private tables creates a good, romantic vibe.
I absolutely LOVE Pierpont's and go here whenever I have an excuse :) The food is beyond reproach, the service is wonderful and the ambiance is unequaled. I always refer others to Pierpont's for lunch or dinner and will continue to do so.
