Pierpont's at Union Station Ratings and Reviews
My wife, our friends and I all ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. The food was excellent as was the value. My filet was prepared exactly as requested and was outstanding! Our server, Courtney, was very friendly, courteous and attentive. She also helped us figure out using gift cards to pay for our dinner.
Had dinner here during Restaurant Week. Had a very nice table and the ambience was wonderful for our date night! Our food was terrific and everything was cooked perfectly! From the warm, crusty bread , tasty salad and soup, beautifully-served entree, and dessert- it was superb! Would definitely dine here again!
We knew this was a more expensive venue when we booked...however, the waitress seemed to have upsold every opportunity she had. Offered the specials and failed to mention they were double the price of other steak options. I ordered wine with the meal and came back as higher than the price on the menu by double. Drinks were far too expensive. All in all we dropped $770 for dinner and drinks for four people. We did not over do it on the drinks and no high priced bottles of wine. Be warned.
We went out for Restaurant Week. I felt there was a variety of selections to choose from. The bisque was delicious as was the steak and dessert. The bread was amazing. The only thing I can say about the food is that originally my steak came out very rare (ordered med rare). They kindly fired it again for me and it was delicious! Also, the Wine by the Glass menu lists prices by the half glass and full glass. I didn't realize that when I ordered and wound up spending twice the amount on wine that I though I was spending.
This is a beautiful nostalgic restaurant with old world ambience, but the music didn't fit the atmosphere. It was loud Mexican music that you would hear at a beach resort! Food was excellent as well as service. However, we felt a little rushed. In and out for lunch in 30 minutes.
We took my mother-in-law with us for Restaurant Week and we loved it from the moment we were seated. Even though there were plenty of people there, it was quiet enough to enjoy a conversation and be heard. The ambience set the mood for a relaxing, enjoyable lunch. We all had the Chitarra Pasta that had Niçoise olives, preserved lemon, tomatoes, crispy artichokes, feta cheese and white wine-dill butter. It was amazing and delicious. Our waiter told us that it had a lot going on and he wasn't kidding. The flavors continued to provide surprises while you were eating it. We each enjoyed a glass of wine which brought out even more flavors! We all chose the maple sugar creme brûlée for our dessert. Everything was wonderful. We will be returning.
Until a few years ago Pierpont’s was an o.k. restaurant with a lovely ambience but food that was best described as “good”. Now, with the same ambience, the food is consistently “excellent”. That includes lunch and dinner offerings and, kudos to the pastry chef, dessert. I have not had steaks at Pierpont’s but I understand that they are a “spécialité de la maison”. I enjoy the wines from a reasonably extensive wine list, but have never tried the interestingly- sounding cocktails. The service is friendly and offers just the right amount of attention, wait staff is available but not hovering. The location inside Union Station is exciting. Good show!
Our first experience at Pierpont's was during Restaurant Week, and despite the discounted menu, they certainly didn't cut any corners!
Mason (our server) and the other staff provided outstanding service - All the front-of-house staff worked seamlessly as a team to ensure a pleasant dining experience. As soon as someone saw that we were finished with a plate or utensil, they immediately whisked it away. Likewise, our water glasses were never below half full.
The bar's handcrafted cocktails were excellent (and we're tough critics). We would highly recommend the Manhattan...KS and the Sazerac. As for food, we both had the filet mignon, and both of our filets were cooked to perfection. We both agreed that the pear and almond salad left something to be desired, and the extra $10 for a scallop to accompany my steak wasn't worth it in the end. However, our beautifully prepared steaks and the exquisite brown sugar maple crème brûlée made up for these 'cons'. The 1910s nostalgic vibe provided by Union Station and the restaurant's decor is an added bonus!
We will definitely be returning to this gem, and soon!
We ate at Pierpont's after seeing the play "Sea Marks" at Union Station. We did not dine off the restaurant week menu. Instead, my wife and I ordered the 4-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Everything was excellent. We love Pierpont's, not only for the great food, but also for the beautiful setting. Service was also outstanding.
We dined during restaurant week and the food was fantastic. All 4 of our group got the Filet Mignon, which was perfectly cooked all the way around the table. We also had great service too.
The only bad thing I will say is that my Filet Mignon was TINY. I know it was restaurant week but I wish I would have known size before I ordered. The only thing separating our meal from being perfect was portion size.
5:45 reservations before a 7:30 show in the same building. Seated promptly. Salads / soup served almost immediately although soup was sent back twice for not being hot- switched to salad. Entrees brought while still eating salads. Mashed potatoes cold, steaks lukewarm. After the rush, waited 10 minutes for cold coffee- 5 minutes for a fresh pot. 22 minutes for desert. Not an experience to be repeated. I thought restaurant week was to put best foot forward but in this case has turned a regular customer off.
We came to celebrate a milestone birthday, even though it was also Restaurant Week (they were packed!). Food and service excellent. Beautiful space.
The only negative on our evening was the rather shocking price for the "add on" scallops we were offered (and I did not ask the price before I accepted the offer. Won't make that mistake again.)
First visit to this restaurant and it lived up to its reputation. We all ordered the restaurant week special, so we were able to sample a variety of dishes. Everything was outstanding in terms of flavor and portion size. My personal favorites were the crab bisque, filet mignon, and the creme brûlée.
A member of our party also had to use a wheelchair for the evening and the staff was extremely accommodating, ensuring his dining experience was amazing as well.
Friends and I double dated here during restaurant week. The wine list is extensive and has wonderful options. The food was incredible - we all had the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. While it is pricey, it is perfect for a special occasion date night.
First time eating at Pierponts and we were not dissapointed! First of all, the greeters and the waitstaff were warm and welcoming and not snobby which is a HUGE turnoff for me at higher end restaurants. That really placed us in a relaxed mood to enjoy our Restaurant Week lunch choices which were the Seabass and the Chitarra Pasta (HUGE portion). Needless to say we ate everything and we were happy and so full that we couldn't even breathe. I would say this restaurant is a winner!
